Mingxiu and Xiaohesheli turned around when they heard the sound and saw a little girl dressed in emerald green with a white pom-pom on her head and big, watery eyes. She looked quite cute, but the words she spoke were not so cute.
"I wonder if this young lady was calling for us just now?" Mingxiu asked.
The girl nodded haughtily. "This lipstick is the last one in the store. I've taken a liking to it, so just give it to me." The girl in green said haughtily.
Mingxiu found her expression somewhat amusing. "If I'm not mistaken, we should have gotten this first, so why should we give it up?"
“You just received it first, but you didn’t decide to pay first. I’ve already paid, so this is mine.” The girl in green said, and then told the person next to her to pay.
The young woman in the shop looked at both sides awkwardly, unsure whether she should go or not.
"Fine, since you like it, you can have it," Little Hesheli said casually from the side.
Mingxiu glanced at her, and Xiaohesheli nodded.
Mingxiu didn't say anything more. This girl in green looked no more than thirteen or fourteen years old. It would be beneath her to argue with her about these things, and it really wasn't necessary.
The girl in green was taken aback, not expecting the two of them to agree so quickly. She blushed slightly, feeling a little embarrassed, and said haughtily, "I'm not the kind of person who takes advantage of others. These two colors are just what I picked out, and they're very pretty. I'll give them to you."
After saying that, she immediately instructed the person next to her to place the two lipsticks next to Mingxiu. Before Mingxiu could say anything, the girl in green left with her entourage.
Mingxiu looked at the people walking quickly ahead with a hint of helplessness, and then smiled instantly.
They exchanged a glance with Little Hesheli and shook their heads helplessly. Although the little girl was proud, she was still quite cute.
Finally, Mingxiu and Xiaohesheli strolled around inside, picked out a few things each, and headed straight to the restaurant to eat.
They had just finished breakfast when they came out this morning, and now it's almost noon. They've been shopping all morning and are starving; they've already burned off most of what they ate this morning.
Inside a private room at the restaurant.
"The food here is clearly the creation of my sister; each dish is so unique," said Little Hesheli, looking at the table full of food.
Mingxiu smiled smugly, "Of course! They all taste delicious. You should try them. This egg tart, this egg yolk pastry, and this one over there are all very tasty. They are all new products that the restaurant has just developed."
Little Hesheli nodded obediently, then slowly savored the food on the table.
Mingxiu was already used to these foods, and the two of them quickly started eating.
"Thank you so much, sister. I never thought I'd have the chance to go out and stroll around again." After finishing her meal, Little Hesheli held her tea and looked at the scenery outside as she spoke slowly.
Even when she was still a young lady in her boudoir, she often stayed indoors and rarely had the opportunity to come out. She never expected that she would have the chance to go out and wander around now.
Mingxiu looked at her with a touch of heartache. "We should go out more often when we have time. We have money and free time now, right? There's nothing to do at home anyway," Mingxiu said playfully.
Little Hesheli smiled and nodded slightly.
Before she knew it, it was Mingxiu's 50th birthday. This morning, Changchun Garden was bustling with activity, with people rushing around everywhere. Mingxiu sat on a chair with a smile, watching the busy crowd below. Sitting next to her was Emperor Kangxi, and inside the room were Chenghuan, Xiaohesheli, Consort Wenxi, Consort Rong, Consort Hui, as well as Yierjuelogen, Guarjia, the third prince's wife, and the fourth prince's wife.
Today is Mingxiu's birthday, so everyone came over. They all gathered in a group and chatted. As for the men, Kangxi threw them outside. The house wasn't very big to begin with, and if they came in, there wouldn't be enough room to sit. So it's much more convenient to take care of the children outside.
Originally, according to Yinreng's wishes, Mingxiu's fiftieth birthday celebration should have been held, but Mingxiu really didn't like it. So, to respect the birthday celebrant's wishes, a small celebration was held in Changchun Garden, attended by Mingxiu's good friends or younger relatives.
In the kitchen, to show his sincerity, Yinreng brought several of his brothers into the kitchen when it was time to cook. Children like to follow adults, so when they saw the adults go in, they followed them in. So when Mingxiu could no longer hear the noise outside and thought it was very quiet, she went out to check and found that there was no one outside. Mingxiu and Kangxi exchanged a glance and suddenly heard a lot of noise coming from the kitchen. They quietly went over.
I saw a group of people sitting together in the kitchen, with a circle of children standing around them, each holding a dough ball and doing something.
Mingxiu and Kangxi walked in: "What are you doing?"
"Mother Consort, Father Emperor"
"Royal Grandmother, Imperial Grandfather"
"Mother Consort, Father Emperor"
Suddenly everyone's voices rang out, making Mingxiu feel somewhat helpless.
"I'm asking you what you're doing," Mingxiu said with a hint of helplessness.
Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment. Finally, Yinreng spoke up, "Ah, we just wanted to make dumplings for Father Emperor and Consort Ming ourselves."
After Yinreng finished speaking, everyone nodded in agreement, even the younger ones. Mingxiu looked at the younger ones nodding earnestly and found it somewhat amusing. She wondered if they knew what he meant, and nodded in agreement.
