Lanqin was so shocked that she stood there, unable to react for a moment. But then she heard footsteps behind her and saw a strange smile on the lips of Madam Yin, who was lying on the ground.
If Lanqin hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she would never have believed that the tearful, pitiful little face could hide such a terrifying smile.
"What are you doing?" came the voice of the Fourth Princess Consort from behind.
Then, the Third and Fourth Princess Consorts, along with Lady Song, Lady Wu, Lady Guarjia, and others, arrived. At the very front was Ye Ying, who had been sent by Lady Yin to fetch water.
At this moment, Lanqin realized what was happening. She glanced at Madam Yin with disgust, knowing that she had fallen into the trap of this seemingly "delicate" woman.
"Princess, are you alright!" Ye Ying rushed to Yin Shi's side and pulled her up halfway from the ground.
"Niu Shi, Yin Shi, what are you doing here? Ye Ying came to say that you two had a disagreement and started arguing, and now you've even started fighting!" Fourth Princess Consort looked sternly at Lan Qin, then at Yin Shi.
Lanqin glanced at everyone's expressions and knew she had fallen into a carefully planned trap. Explaining it clearly in a short time would probably not be easy.
Damn it, this is blatant framing! Is this what they call palace intrigue? Lanqin thought to herself, but didn't speak up to defend herself. She knew that the woman lying on the ground would speak first, and she would listen to how she twisted the truth.
Sure enough, Lady Yin began to sob, saying, "My lady, my stomach hurts so much, may I..." Before she could finish, Ye Ying suddenly screamed, "Blood—"
With her startled cry, everyone's attention immediately turned to Madam Yin's skirt.
At this moment, Lanqin's brows furrowed even more. She had clearly seen with her own eyes that Madam Yin had taken a few steps back and then pretended to fall to the ground, so why was she bleeding so much?
Did she really abandon the child in her womb just to frame me? With these questions in mind, Lanqin stared in disbelief at the blood-red stain that was gradually spreading on Yin's skirt.
"Madam, please, please save my child!" Madam Yin's face was as pale as snow. Seeing her pitiful state, everyone felt pity and gathered around her, comforting her and telling her not to worry.
The Fourth Prince's wife immediately said to the Third Prince's wife beside her, "Cousin, could you please quickly fetch the doctor from the manor, and also call someone to carry Madam Yin back immediately?"
Upon seeing this, the Third Princess Consort immediately ordered her maid, Guarjia, to fetch someone, and reassured her, "Don't worry, cousin, I'll go find the doctor in the manor right away." After saying that, she hurriedly led a few people to find the doctor.
Before long, several eunuchs from the Third Prince's residence carried over a stretcher and took the unconscious Lady Yin away. Everyone hurriedly followed Lady Yin's stretcher, leaving only Lanqin and Nianxue, who arrived later, in the large courtyard. No one questioned the two of them, and no one paid them any attention. At this moment, everyone's attention was focused on Lady Yin.
"Gege, did Princess Yin fall to the ground by herself?" Nianxue asked anxiously when Lanqin remained silent.
"So you also suspect that I pushed her!" Lanqin wasn't blaming Nianxue, but even Nianxue asked such a question under these circumstances, so you can imagine what the others were thinking.
"I believe that Princess would never do that. What a vicious heart that Madam Yin is! She actually hurt herself like that just to frame Princess!" Nianxue said in horror. She really couldn't understand how Madam Yin, at such a young age, could do something so self-destructive. Nianxue was already four or five months pregnant. If she miscarried now, it might mean the death of both mother and child.
"She really thinks highly of me, actually willing to abandon her own flesh and blood." Lanqin thought the same as Nianxue, and really couldn't understand why Madam Yin would use such a harmful and self-defeating method to frame someone. It was truly incomprehensible.
"Princess, don't be afraid. You didn't do anything. I believe the Princess will clear your name." Nianxue was actually a little unsure, but she couldn't panic, and neither could the princess.
Lanqin forced a smile at her, placed her hand on her arm, and said, "Let's go. What's coming will come eventually. I believe the Yin family's conspiracy will not succeed."
Although the mistress and servant were encouraging each other, they both knew in their hearts that this time it would be difficult to explain clearly.
Lanqin couldn't quite describe the feeling in her heart: she had known all along that there would be such conspiracies and traps in this inner quarters, and she had always been careful to avoid them, but she never expected to be dragged into it.
She tried hard to recall the few times she had contact with the Yin family, hoping to find something that could help clear her name.
Meanwhile, on Lady Yin's side, she was placed in the room closest to the small garden. The doctor and the Third Prince's wife also rushed over. The doctor was treating Lady Yin, with only the Third Prince's wife and the Fourth Prince's wife inside accompanying her, while the others stood outside the door discussing among themselves.
“That Lady Niu is really ruthless. With Lady Yin’s delicate body, I’m afraid the baby in her womb is in bad shape,” Lady Guarjia said first.
“I don’t think that Niu Shi is that kind of person. How could she be?” Gao Shi said.
"Hmph, she's always been a maverick in our household, relying on our master's favor, she's long since stopped paying attention to us. Don't you think so, Sister Song?" Seeing everyone starting to point the finger at Lanqin when they were questioning Yin, Madam Wu was secretly delighted. Taking advantage of someone's misfortune was something she loved to do most.
