Chapter 2128 Going Out

Highly recommended:

Fourth Master had no choice but to go to the front yard to greet the guests. Lanqin continued her afternoon nap.

"Mother, Mother!" Ushiha's voice rang out from the doorway into the inner quarters.

"Fourth Princess, Master is taking a nap!" Baoqin put her snow-white finger to her lips and made a "shh" gesture.

"Is Mother asleep? It's so cold, how can she sleep?" Wuxiha asked. Today, she was dressed in a magenta cheongsam with butterflies and gold flecks, her hair styled in a headdress with a large pink silk flower in the center and butterfly-shaped beaded flowers on the sides that matched her dress.

"I'm asleep, and you wake me up! What is it now?" Lanqin asked.

"Mother, I want to go out for a walk. I'm so bored staying cooped up in the house all day." Wuxiha ran to Lanqin's bedside with a grin, plopped down on the edge of her bed, and said to Lanqin.

"What, didn't any of your close friends invite you?" Lanqin asked.

“Sister Mingyu did send an invitation, but I don’t want to go. Biechuk is planning to go,” Wuxiha said. “We’ve been living together at Yuanmingyuan for quite some time now, and it would be rather pointless to meet again.”

Lanqin knew that Wuxiha didn't like women like Mingyu, so she didn't expose her. Instead, she smiled and said, "I heard you like playing with Ulanara Xueying. It seems she came to wish her aunt a Happy New Year today. Why don't you go and see her?"

"Xueying has already sent someone to tell me that she's busy today. Mother, please let me go out and have some fun. I'll send someone with me, nothing will happen," Wuxiha said, shaking Lanqin's hand.

Lanqin couldn't persuade her, so she had no choice but to agree, sending two guards to follow her and instructing her not to stay out past 7 PM.

When Ushiha saw that Lanqin had finally agreed, he happily responded like a chick pecking at rice.

So, Ushiha went out with his personal maid and two guards.

She was heading to the overpass in the west of the city. It was said that the area was extremely lively during the New Year, with all sorts of traveling performers taking advantage of the occasion to earn money. After all, during the New Year, anyone out shopping would definitely be carrying some money.

"Qingcao, have you brought enough silver?" Ushiha was becoming even more impatient. They sat in the carriage, and Ushiha would occasionally peek out the window. There weren't many people on the street, because everyone was at home entertaining guests during the New Year.

"I brought enough; I exchanged it all for small pieces of silver," Qingcao said obediently.

Ushiha grinned and said, "Today, this princess is going to have a good time."

"Princess, the concubine instructed that you should return to the manor at 7 PM. Please don't make things difficult for me!" Qingcao reminded Wuxiha, seeing her cheerful expression, not to forget the time.

"Okay!" Wuxiha tapped Qingcao's forehead and pouted as she replied. Actually, even if she didn't return on time, her mother wouldn't scold the maids too much.

“Princess, if you don’t comply, the concubine might not allow you to come out next time.” Qingcai sensed the perfunctory tone in Wuxiha’s voice, so she added another strong dose of medicine.

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Ushiha had to consider the girl's words and said, "Alright, you must remind me in advance, I'm afraid I'll forget the time."

"Yes, I will definitely remind you, Princess," Qingcao said with relief.
