Ninth Master was a little surprised, his expression froze, and he suppressed the strange feeling in his heart, saying, "I'll go over there."
He left the courtyard and walked towards the courtyard where the Ninth Prince's wife lived.
He didn't know what Ninth Princess Consort wanted to say to him, but he thought it must be something very important for her to send someone to find him and invite him to her courtyard.
Inside the room, Ninth Princess Consort sat at a round table with two cups of tea on it, one for her and the other placed to the side. In the center of the table were some snacks.
She didn't get up to greet him. He walked over to her, lifted his shirt, and sat down, saying casually, "Has a guest come by?"
Ninth Princess Consort glanced at him, her eyes cold and desolate. "Eighth Sister-in-law came by. She asked me to tell you that she hopes you can bring Mother out of the palace."
Ninth Prince frowned. Why did he suddenly say he wanted to take his mother out of the palace?
The Ninth Princess Consort spoke calmly and without emotion, her eyes looking at her as if she were a stranger. "She said that Mother is your birth mother, so it is only right that you take her out of the palace. If you do not take Mother out of the palace, then you are just watching Mother suffer in the palace, which is unfilial on both of your part."
Ninth Master's face darkened, and he pursed his lips, remaining silent.
But seeing his expression, Ninth Princess Consort sensed that he might be wavering, and her heart sank.
Seeing that he didn't speak, Ninth Princess said to the maid, "Bring me what I asked you to prepare."
Upon hearing this, Ninth Master was taken aback. His gaze followed the maid, and he saw her take out a pen, ink, and paper from the cabinet behind her and place them in front of him.
"What's going on?" Ninth Master asked, puzzled.
"Please, Ninth Prince, lend me a letter of divorce," Ninth Princess said calmly.
A letter of divorce? Ninth Master was shocked upon hearing this. He looked at her in confusion, "What do you mean by this?"
Ninth Prince's wife smiled coldly, her eyes resolute. "The struggle between you princes has nothing to do with me. Please spare my life, Ninth Prince, and don't drag me into this conflict."
Upon hearing this, Ninth Master sighed and reached out to grasp her hand resting on her knee. "Stop joking around. Why would I write you a letter of divorce?"
Ninth Prince's wife withdrew her hand and placed it on the table, leaving Ninth Prince with nothing. "Ninth Prince, are you joking?"
As she spoke, she looked up at the house, which was decorated and furnished with exquisite detail. As Ninth Master's woman, she naturally lived a comfortable life, but this was not what she wanted.
Ninth Master said, "What do you want me to do? If I give you a letter of divorce, where can you go?"
“With the letter of divorce, we will have no further connection in this life. I can go wherever I want,” she paused, then added, “I would rather become a nun than get involved in your royal power struggles.”
Upon hearing her say she wanted to become a nun, Ninth Master's expression changed drastically, and he hurriedly said, "No, how can you become a nun?"
Ninth Prince's wife met his gaze, her eyes filled with disappointment. When Ninth Prince saw that look in her eyes, his heart suddenly clenched. Ninth Prince's wife took a long breath and said in a calm tone, "If you really listen to Eighth Sister-in-law and go to bring Consort Yi out of the palace, you will surely bring about your own death!"
Ninth Master was taken aback and stared at her with a puzzled look.
They all know perfectly well why Consort Yi is living such a miserable life in the palace.
"Since you're going to bring me trouble, why should I stay in the Ninth Prince's residence? Am I just waiting to be beheaded with you?" the Ninth Prince's wife said coldly.
