Chapter 2665 Dead?

Lanqin lay on the couch, her consciousness hazy. After a sharp pain, she could no longer feel any pain. She only felt her body slowly becoming lighter.

From a distant place came calls and cries. Lanqin tried to respond, but no sound came out. Her body grew lighter and lighter, increasingly weightless. When Lanqin finally managed to open her eyes, she was shocked to find herself floating in mid-air…

Lanqin waved her hand, frantically checking herself to see if she was unharmed, only to see herself lying on the bed through her fingers.

She lay unconscious on the bed, surrounded by imperial physicians and palace maids, trying to pull the dagger out of her chest. Blood blurred the area, and even the bedding was soaked in blood. Baoqin stood at the edge of the bed, biting her fingers, sobbing uncontrollably.

Lanqin tried her best to fly over, but could only spin in mid-air. She called out loudly to Baoqin, but Baoqin seemed not to hear anything. Looking at her own pale face, devoid of any blood, Lanqin worried that the medical technology in this dynasty was inadequate and there was no such thing as blood transfusion. If she really lost too much blood, she might die.

"Am I already dead? So it really is possible for the soul to leave the body. But I don't want to die..." Lanqin cried, clutching her head, frantically searching for a way to bring her soul back to her body.

"What to do, what to do..." In her panic, Lanqin turned towards Baoqin, put her hands to her mouth, and desperately shouted, "Baoqin, I'm here... I'm not dead yet... Look at me..."

No matter how loud Lanqin's voice was, Baoqin did not react at all. Lanqin watched as the imperial physician took the dagger out of her chest. Blood gushed out immediately. The palace maid pressed the wound hard with a silk cloth, but blood still stained her face.

The imperial physicians frantically fed Lanqin various pills, and the palace servants poured in soup, which they also forced into her mouth. Lanqin clutched her chest, feeling no pain. Watching the medicine trickle from the corner of her mouth, she finally believed it: "I am dead..."

The devastated Lanqin accepted the fact that she was dead, and suddenly her body could move nimbly again. She first flew to Baoqin's side and tenderly wiped away Baoqin's tears. Suddenly, she realized that her fingers had passed through Baoqin's body. She quickly pulled her hand back. In that instant, Lanqin seemed to realize something, turned around, and ran away.

As expected, the Fourth Prince, Hongli, Hongzhou, Biechuke, the Thirteenth Prince and his wife, Xueying, and Mingyu were all waiting outside.

Lanqin saw their sorrowful faces, their worried gazes fixed on her inside the room, especially Bechuk, whose eyes were swollen and red from crying. Lanqin wanted to comfort them, so she moved in front of Bechuk, extending her almost transparent arms to embrace him. But as she did so, she realized that her arms were actually embracing herself.

"Why is this happening? Why won't you even give me a chance to say goodbye?" Lanqin screamed in despair.

"I don't want to die, I don't want to die... I still have so many things to do..." Lanqin pleaded painfully to the sky.

Just then, Fourth Master suddenly turned his head, looked at where Lanqin was, and said absentmindedly, "Lanqin?"

Hongli asked in surprise, "Father, what are you saying? Mother is inside..."

Lanqin called out to Fourth Master with surprise, "I'm here, it's me... Lanqin..."

Fourth Master turned his head blankly, his heart tightening, and dared not think any further.
