Inside the room, the imperial physician, his hands covered in blood, slowly pulled the dagger from Lanqin's chest.
A metallic smell filled my nostrils, and fresh blood gushed out, seemingly without end.
Lanqin's face gradually paled on the bed, her strength slowly drained away, and she seemed to have lost all vitality. Everyone in the room dared not breathe, staring blankly at her on the bed.
Standing outside, Lanqin's soul watched as Fourth Master's face slowly paled, just like her own. She felt a mix of emotions, a sense of relief mixed with heartache.
"Your Majesty!" The imperial physician staggered out of the room and walked up to the Fourth Prince.
The Fourth Prince was extremely anxious, his face ashen. "How is it? Has Consort Xi been revived?"
The imperial physician, drenched in sweat, said, "Consort Xi's injuries are severe. The dagger has pierced her heart; the wound is deep, and she has lost a great deal of blood. However, none of the hemostatic medicines I brought can stop the bleeding. I'm afraid it's now..."
The imperial physician seemed to be implying that Lanqin was near death, but the Fourth Prince, unwilling and terrified of hearing such words, shouted sternly, "Nonsense!"
The imperial physician trembled with fright and immediately knelt down, kowtowing and saying, "Yes, yes, Your Majesty, I know that time is of the essence, but if the blood continues to flow like this, I'm afraid Your Majesty will not be able to hold on until we can remove the knife from Her Majesty!"
Upon hearing these words, Fourth Master's face darkened further, veins bulged on the back of his hand, and his lips were tightly pressed together. In that instant, he exuded an aura of impending storm, and no one in the room dared to look up at him.
The Fourth Prince suddenly grabbed the imperial physician's shoulder. "Just tell me what medicine you want! No matter how precious the herbs are, I'll have them brought to you! I'm telling you, you must save Consort Xi's life, or I'll have you executed!"
The imperial physician was taken aback, then kowtowed repeatedly, pleading, "Your Majesty, I will do everything in my power to save Consort Xi! The Thirteenth Prince quickly stepped forward, bowed, and said, "Your subject is here!"
"As the imperial physician said, go and fetch the ginseng!" He paused, then said, "I remember there are several old ginseng roots in the storeroom of the Yuanmingyuan Garden. Go and get them quickly!"
The Thirteenth Prince replied solemnly, "Yes, Your Majesty, I will go immediately!"
After he finished speaking, he turned around and quickly left the house.
After giving his instructions to the Thirteenth Prince, the Fourth Prince turned to the Imperial Physician and roared, "Hurry up and go in to take care of Consort Xi!"
The imperial physician rushed into the room again. The Fourth Prince was so anxious that he was restless, and a hint of nostalgia and panic showed in his eyes.
Seeing this scene, Lanqin's soul, suspended in mid-air, suddenly moistened her eyes and slowly curved her lips into a smile.
The fact that Fourth Master cared so much about her made her realize that she was incredibly precious to him, someone he could never abandon or lose.
Since he cared about her so much, she couldn't bear to make him sad. With that thought in mind, Lanqin hurriedly floated back into the house. Looking at her own body lying unconscious on the bed, she sat on the bed, covered it, and finally returned to her body.
She silently vowed to herself that she could not die, no matter how difficult or arduous it was; she had to survive!
