After a while, Xueying spoke up: "I said I was going to poison Prince, but I was going to poison him so that he would accept me and fall in love with me, not him in the real sense."
Then she looked at Aro and Rachel: "Now you two understand what I mean, right?"
A'Luo asked, "Does the concubine mean she wants to break with the Empress?"
Xueying nodded.
Rachel quickly advised, "But Consort, by doing this you are abandoning your own family. The Prince doesn't like you yet. If you lose the Empress's support, your situation will become even more difficult."
Xueying closed her eyes: "I know everything you're saying, and I've thought it all through."
A Luo felt sorry for Xue Ying and knew that making such a decision must have been very painful for her.
She stood up, walked to Xueying's feet, and knelt down.
Xueying exclaimed in surprise, "Aluo, what are you doing? Get up quickly!"
A'luo said sadly, "Consort, I don't want you to do this. You're cutting off your only way out. I don't want you to make such a big sacrifice. Please reconsider."
Xueying wanted to help Alu up from the ground, but Alu didn't want to get up, saying that Xueying would have to reconsider.
Xueying sighed, "Aluo, you're forcing me!"
A'luo said, "I'm not forcing you, but I hope that you can think about yourself. You are full of thoughts about the Prince, and you even gave up the Ulanara clan and severed your relationship with the Empress for him, but he..." A'luo didn't know how to continue.
Rachel also came over and knelt down: "Please, Consort, reconsider."
Xueying said helplessly, "How do you know I can't win Prince's favor? As long as Prince has his favor, it's the same even if I don't have the support of the Ulanara family."
Upon hearing this, A'luo couldn't help but give a bitter smile: "Consort, I'd like to know, what do you plan to do if the Prince still doesn't accept you?"
Rachel added, "Yes, Consort, the Prince has always been wary of the fact that you are the Empress's niece. If he had even a little bit of affection for you, he wouldn't have kept you from consummating the marriage." The two women, in an effort to win Xueying back, spoke their minds, even if Xueying would punish them.
Xueying was stumped by their questions. In fact, A'luo and Rachel's worries were like a sword hanging over Xueying's head. She knew all too well that if Hongli never accepted her, then doing this would undoubtedly push her into a desperate situation.
However, Xueying wanted to take a gamble. She was betting that Hongli still had feelings for her. Otherwise, the scene in the snowy plum grove that day, and the events that happened that day, kept replaying in Xueying's mind. It was these scenes that supported her decision. She wanted to try. She was sure that Hongli still loved her. As the saying goes, one won't turn back until one hits a brick wall. Xueying felt that even though she knew she would be shattered to pieces this time, she still had to try. Otherwise, she would regret it for the rest of her life.
A'luo wanted to persuade Xueying, but she disagreed with Xueying's decision: "Consort, please think it over again!"
Xueying shook her head: "Aluo, I know you mean well, but this may be my fate. I accept it."
But A'luo still wanted to persuade her, and Xueying firmly said to A'luo and Rachel, "That's settled then. From today onwards, you two stop overthinking things. We need to wait for the right opportunity."
