Chapter 809 Hangover Soup

Although Lao Jiu was helped down, his words sent a chill down one's spine, like the wind on a chilly early spring night. The servants quickly cleaned up the mess from the bonfire feast.

"Fourth Brother, although Ninth Brother's words were harsh, if we can't get to the bottom of this matter, I'm afraid Father will really start to suspect you," Thirteen said, frowning.

"Thirteenth Brother, hurry up and go to the manor to find that blind Liang. Quickly!" Fourth Master suddenly remembered what Lanqin had said. He didn't know why the image of that dim-witted guy who dared to look at his woman's mouth suddenly popped into his mind.

Thirteenth Master realized the matter was serious and immediately nodded heavily before going to find the horse. It wasn't far from here to the manor; he estimated it would only take about half an hour.

Fourth Master hurriedly returned to his tent, where he saw Lanqin nestled on the bed, fidgeting and her face turning pale.

The Fourth Prince felt sorry for Lanqin and quickly went over to her, taking her hand and saying, "I wish I could feel your pain. It's really strange how I, the Thirteenth Prince, and the Fourteenth Prince are all alright, and your sisters are all fine too."

When Lanqin saw Fourth Master arrive and heard what he said, she felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She vaguely felt that the sudden poisoning was somewhat strange, but as Fourth Master said, why were only a few of them unharmed? If the poisoner was selective in his targets, why only these few people?

"Master, it's urgent to find a doctor now. Go and fetch Doctor Liang. He's proficient in Western medicine, which is faster than traditional Chinese medicine," Lanqin said anxiously. She was in pain in her abdomen, and she feared that others were experiencing the same thing. She wasn't worried about her own life being in danger, but rather that she felt this matter was suspicious and needed to be investigated as soon as possible, otherwise it would really bring great suspicion to Fourth Master.

"I've already sent someone to invite them. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." Fourth Master looked deeply at Lanqin, slightly tightening his grip on her hand.

Lanqin's eyes welled up with tears of grievance, but they ultimately flowed down her cheeks. Suddenly remembering something, she asked Cui Niang, who was serving her, "Did you serve everyone that hangover soup?"

Cui Niang didn't know what Lan Qin meant by asking this, so she quickly replied, "Seventh Master and the three princesses didn't come up. Seventh Master didn't drink, and neither did the three princesses."

Lanqin then asked the Fourth Master, "Does Your Highness remember whether the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Princes ever drank that hangover soup?"

Fourth Master's eyes darkened as he said, "You suspect there's something wrong with that hangover soup?"

Lanqin nodded and said, "Everyone present has eaten the meat and the vegetable soup I stewed. Since Seventh Master and his three sisters are fine, the only problem must be the hangover soup."

Fourth Master nodded, slightly pleased, and said, "You're right. Cui Niang, go and bring the whole hangover soup over right away. When Doctor Liang arrives, he can start his examination from that hangover soup."

Cui Niang quickly got up and agreed, then turned and ran out.

Furthermore, the Fourteenth Prince was thinking about Lanqin, as well as the Eighth and Ninth Princes. However, since the Fourth Prince was there, he had no choice but to go to the Eighth Prince's tent. There, he found the Ninth Prince there as well. The two of them lay down on the bed, and the servants nearby were too frightened to go forward to serve them.

"Eighth Brother, Ninth Brother, what should we do now?" Fourteenth Brother asked anxiously.

"Fourteenth, this time, we're going to be killed by your brother. My stomach hurts terribly," Ninth Master said, clutching his stomach in pain.

"Don't talk nonsense. The concubine wasn't poisoned. What evidence do you have that Fourth Brother poisoned her?" Eighth Prince seemed to be refuting Ninth Prince, but he also seemed to be guiding him to continue.

“I’m not talking nonsense. Just look at the people who were poisoned. He wasn’t poisoned, Thirteen wasn’t poisoned, Fourteen, you weren’t poisoned, Seventh Brother wasn’t poisoned, and none of the people connected to him were poisoned. So why are we the only ones who got poisoned?” Ninth Master said indignantly.

Upon hearing this, Fourteenth Prince truly began to have doubts about Fourth Prince.

Eighth Master noticed Fourteenth Master's hesitation, quickly exchanged a glance with Ninth Master, and said, "Fourteenth Master, go and ask Fourth Brother when to call a doctor. This pain is unbearable."

Then the ninth brother shouted, and the fourteenth brother, being young, quickly stood up and said after their commotion, "Don't worry, I'll go and get a doctor right away."

After Fourteen rushed out in a hurry, Eighth Master and Ninth Master had a smile in their eyes, but because they were in pain in their abdomens, they could not be happy.

"Water! What are you standing there for? Hurry up and get me some water!" Ninth Master said to the two timid maids.

Meanwhile, the fourth master ran to the outside of his tent, lifted the tent flap, and tried to go in, but was blocked by the fourth master's servant, Su Peisheng.

"Fourteenth Prince, the concubine is inside. Why are you rushing in like this?" Su Peisheng said, spreading his arms to block him.

"You dog of a servant, get out of my way!" Fourteenth Prince angrily kicked Su Peisheng and then shoved past him. When he entered Fourth Prince's tent, he saw Fourth Prince holding Lanqin.

Several maids were standing guard nearby when they were all startled to see Fourteen suddenly burst in.

"Why are you here?" Fourth Master asked impatiently when he saw Fourteenth Master barging in looking flustered.

"Fourth Brother, did you poison them?" Fourteenth Brother looked at Lanqin in Fourth Master's arms, her face pale with pain. He was anxious and didn't care about anything else, so he asked directly.

Upon hearing this, Fourth Master was so angry he wanted to explode, but the person in his arms pressed down on his chest.

Lanqin also heard Fourteen's words and immediately felt anxious. Sure enough, some people couldn't hold back and began to spread this very sensitive speculation.

"Instead of offering to help, you're spouting nonsense. What's going on in your head?" Fourth Master roared angrily.

"I'm not smart? I am not smart, but now, apart from her, all your opponents have been poisoned! You dare say this has nothing to do with you? We're all on your estate!" Fourteen wanted to see Lanqin and ask her how she was doing, but he could only watch her lying in Fourth Master's arms, his anger growing stronger.

"And what about you? Are you even mine? Why are you standing here like this!" Fourth Master was so angry that his lungs felt like they were about to explode. This younger brother, who was born of the same mother, always treated him as an outsider, but treated the real "outsiders" as his own people.

"You're just afraid Mother will blame you. You've already killed one Sixth Prince, so naturally you wouldn't dare to harm me again." Fourteenth Prince stabbed the most shameful part of Fourth Prince's heart.

Fourth Master's face turned ashen, and he roared at Su Peisheng, "Call someone here and throw this bastard out of here. Without my permission, he is not to set foot in here again."
