After the stone struck the red light, the light suddenly flickered and made a squeaking sound like a mouse. Then came a gust of demonic wind, carrying a strong, pungent stench of excrement.
"That red light is alive?" Han Yueling was startled and quickly raised her ice-blue staff. "Wall of Frost!"
Han Yueling conjured a semi-transparent ice wall in front of her, and countless dark shadows crashed into the ice wall, making muffled thuds.
Only then did they finally see what those faint red lights were—the eyes of enormous black bats!
These bats were almost as big as an adult golden retriever, which made Han Yueling gasp.
"What huge bats! Are these bats from another species?"
"It doesn't seem like it. The power is too weak. It looks more like it has undergone a certain degree of mutation after consuming some special blood."
Qiao Suinian shook his head. He had never heard of a gregarious bat-like alien race. The dense red light at the bottom of the pit indicated an extremely terrifying number of bats.
If these bats are all of a different race, even if ten more came, he wouldn't be able to survive here.
"I remember Sister Guan and the others saying that hundreds of people have come here to explore, but they haven't seen a single corpse nearby. Could it be these bats?" A hint of fear flashed in Han Yueling's beautiful eyes.
Qiao Suinian did not answer her, but squatted down to observe a bat with an injured wing.
The bat was extremely ferocious. As soon as Qiao Suinian approached, it opened its mouth wide, stretched its neck, and tried to bite him. Its two sharp canine teeth were terrifying.
"Mutant bats...a sudden sinkhole...a bottomless cave..."
Qiao Suinian muttered to himself, pondering the known information in his mind, when his expression suddenly changed.
"Could it be... that the creatures below are truly from the Abyss Corpse Clan?"
