Chapter 10 Son of Sin 10

Chapter 10 Son of Sin 10

"Forget it, why am I telling you all this?" Ji Jinping's tone was somewhat self-deprecating. "You're still a child. I just hope you don't end up like your father when you grow up."

"Treat your mother better from now on."

"Brother Jinping," Ji Huaizhi suddenly called out to him.

Ji Jinping didn't notice his tone: "What's wrong?"

Do you know how Uncle Li Si and Uncle Zhuang Niu died?

Ji Jinping felt the road was a bit dark and wondered why he wasn't using a flashlight.

"Your Uncle Li was bitten to death by a dog, and Uncle Zhuangniu is missing, isn't he?"

“No, he’s dead.” Ji Huaizhi’s tone was somewhat cold.

Just then, a gust of wind blew by, and perhaps sensing danger, Ji Jinping got goosebumps all over his body.

"Dead?"

He was somewhat incredulous and looked down at Ji Huaizhi, who happened to be looking up at him as well.

That gaze was so cold it sent a chill down his spine.

"He's dead." Ji Huaizhi answered him definitively: "I severed his carotid artery."

"So much blood, and it's hot."

Ji Jinping stopped in his tracks, his back feeling a little numb.

"Do you know what he was doing at the time?" Ji Huaizhi stared intently at him. "You know, right?"

"Do what you were just thinking of doing."

Ji Jinping took a step back in fright, and then heard him whisper:

"So I killed him."

“I found Li Laosi’s dog, so I took it in.” As soon as Ji Huaizhi finished speaking, a dog barked from not far away.

The sound wasn't loud, but the growl clearly indicated that the dog was preparing to attack.

Ji Jin calmed himself down; he wasn't the type to sit idly by and wait for his fate.

She reached out and grabbed his throat: "Do you know what you're saying? Who do you think you're scaring with that inhuman, ghost-like appearance?"

"You still want to be a filial son?"

"Who was it that made those remarks outside that gave these people the idea?"

Ji Huaizhi just stared at him like that. After a brief pause, the funeral music resumed, the sounds of suonas and drums striking Ji Jinping's heart one by one.

It was as if they were sending him on his way.

"Brother, it's time to hit the road."

Ji Jinping's upper body fell into the dry ditch, his face covered in yellow sand, while his legs were still above the ditch, making it look as if he had accidentally fallen in.

This happens to be the direction towards his home.

The sound of the suona was like his death knell, a conscious awareness of the passing of life.

It was dark, and no one noticed what was happening there.

A breeze blew through the mourning hall, making some people feel cool, while others played cards around the stove.

"Hey Li family, shouldn't you send someone to come and take a look? Your fourth son died such a miserable death."

"Poor thing, so young."

Those who were burning paper money in the ash basin were still wailing, and some who couldn't bear it any longer went back.

Ji Erma yawned, and as he looked up, he blinked: "Mom, is Li Laosi's ever-burning light off?"

Those who heard this looked over and thought to themselves, "This is bad."

This eternal lamp is meant to guide the souls of the dead, illuminating their path to the underworld. If this lamp is extinguished, will Li Laosi be able to find the underworld?

Where is the lamplighter?

Where has the lamplighter gone?

"I'm going to relieve myself!" someone in the crowd answered.

The Li family was filled with deafening cries, fearing he would become a wandering ghost.

It was dawn.

The men who had been guarding Li Laosi's house all night couldn't stay awake any longer and walked home while yawning.

The morning air was quite chilly.

"Who fell into the ditch because they were so tired?" someone shouted.

Everyone was very sleepy and assumed the other person had fallen into a ditch from exhaustion.

"Hey! You can't sleep here." Someone went up and kicked his foot.

Everyone tried to help him up, but he didn't respond.

The person closest to the victim blinked, then rubbed their eyes, thinking they had misread something. "Something's happened! Something's happened!"

"What's up?"

Looking down, I saw that the dried-up ditch was stained red.

There were insects and ants all around.

"Ah! Whose person is this? Did they fall and die?" The man in the cotton coat shouted, "Quickly go and call someone to identify them. They probably didn't see where they were going last night and fell."

Everyone was so sleepy they were scared out of their wits.

Who's so unlucky?

A man mustered up the courage to look into the ditch and just happened to see half a face sticking out.

With a pale face, he looked at the man in the cotton coat and said, "Ji Daniu, is this yours?"

Ji Daniu's expression hardened: "Who are you cursing with your nonsense?"

Why don't you just say it's yours?

“It really is yours.” The man knew he couldn’t believe it, and pointed to the ground: “It’s Jinping’er.”

Ji Daniu's cotton-padded coat fell off, and he couldn't stand up straight.

Ji Dama quickly helped him up, saying, "Brother... Brother, slow down."

"Ping'er?"

"How could it be Ping'er?"

"Ping'er?" Ji Daniu staggered and pushed Ji Dama away, trying with all his might to pull him up, but he was too weak to hold on.

"Da Niu, please accept my condolences."

"Get out!" Ji Daniu's bloodshot eyes looked frightening: "Who said it was our Ping'er? Our Ping'er was perfectly fine last night."

Others felt uncomfortable watching this.

The person who went to call for help led a large group of people running this way.

Ji Daniu lay on the ground looking at the half-face in the ditch and suddenly froze.

"How could it be Ping'er?"

"He...he was sleeping peacefully at home, wasn't he?"

Among those who came over was Ji Daniu's family. When they saw Ji Daniu sitting on the ground crying bitterly, their hearts sank.

Da Niu's wife also tripped and fell because her legs went weak.

"Oh dear, what happened? Are you scared?"

"Jinfeng!" Da Niu's wife called to her son, "Have you seen your older brother?"

Is your older brother sleeping at home?

Seeing this, what else could the crowd not understand?

Someone came over with red eyes: "Don't go see Da Niu's family's place."

Er Ma's wife couldn't hold back her tears when she heard this. They were all children she had watched grow up. She hugged her cousin-in-law to keep her from collapsing.

Da Niu's wife screamed and scrambled away from everyone, crying out, "My son, what's wrong with you?"

Ji Jinping had already been carried up.

In addition, the half of his face that had been bitten by insects and ants looked horrifying.

When I fell into the ditch, my sun hit the rock right in the middle, and the hole looked really scary.

Da Niu's wife tried hard to pick up her child, constantly rubbing her son's stiff body with her hands.

"What's wrong? Don't scare your mom!"

Two accidents have occurred in the village in succession, casting a shadow over the area.

The sun rose, but its rays did not bring any warmth to the people.

Yu Man looked at the white cloth on her son's head and smiled, but then she started to cry.

"He's dead?" Yu Man looked at the unfamiliar son in front of her, and the joy in her heart made her laugh out loud.

"Can't you kill those people? Those who bullied me?"

"You can do it, right?"

The rope around Yu Man's neck was pulling at her: "Will you help Mom kill them?"

"Kill them, kill them."

Ji Huaizhi's eyes revealed an emotion he shouldn't have: "Are you happy?"

"I'm so happy." Yu Man felt extremely pleased: "I'm so happy."

“I don’t want to leave anymore. I want to watch them die.” Yu Man raised her head as if trying to hear something: “Listen, this voice is so beautiful.”

The rhythmic funeral music sounded extremely cheerful to her.

"Go to hell, go to hell, go to hell..." Yu Man repeated these three words in a daze.

Ji Huaizhi walked out of the cave dwelling, his face expressionless.

He did things on a whim, and he felt they deserved to die, so he let them die.

Some people said that Ji Jinping was too unlucky, falling to his death in the dark. Two people had died in the village in a row, and everyone felt a little bad.

Life is so fragile.

The missing bull had been largely forgotten.

It's better to be missing than to die suddenly like these two people.

Life goes on day by day, and farmers don't have much time to think about these things; they have to work and busy themselves with the crops.

Yu Man was not satisfied with such mundane days; she wished more than anyone else that everyone here would die.

She hates this land.
