Chapter 15 The Demon Pill Stepfather 15

Chapter 15 The Demon Pill Stepfather 15

Every day, Ji Dapeng hears his grandmother nagging about Zhou Qing taking care of his uncle in his old age. Now that Zhou Qing's biological mother has arrived, Ji Dapeng feels that his uncle is going to become a lonely old man again.

"What are you doing here?" Mrs. Ji stood up and shouted angrily, "Get out! You're not welcome in our house!"

Ji's father's expression was also not good. He noticed that there was a man behind her and understood his identity.

She ran away with this man back then, didn't she?

“Ji Huaizhi told me to take my daughter away! Now you want me to get out of here. Whom should I listen to?” Zhang Fengning looked at Zhou Qing.

I noticed she's been doing well lately, and seems to have even gained some weight. I've never seen her wearing clothes before, so they must be new ones they bought for her.

He snorted coldly: "You can't even have your own son, so you should at least be more polite if you want my child, right?"

Zhou Qing's face turned pale when she heard her father tell her to take her away.

Was he lying to himself?

Mr. Ji remained calm. He had already heard from his son that Zhang Fengning didn't want to raise this daughter, and he guessed that she was here because Ji Huaizhi had asked her for money last time and wanted her to take Zhou Qing back.

"Why did you bring other men to our house?"

Zhang Fengning breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that Ji Huaizhi wasn't home, guessing that he was probably still playing mahjong.

"Do you think I wanted to come? If it weren't for Ji Huaizhi threatening me not to pick up the child..." Zhang Fengning stopped speaking when she saw Zhou Qing was about to cry.

Ji's mother was furious.

I guess this whole thing happened when the son went to ask for the money.

“Don’t look at me like that. Your son is a freak.” Zhang Fengning pulled Lin Kaihui over: “This is my current husband.”

"He gave me a dowry of 100,000 yuan and treats me very well. He's not as good-looking as Ji Huaizhi, but he's good in every way. We're also planning to have another child."

Mrs. Ji was speechless. It was truly out of her mind to say such things in front of Zhou Qing: "You came here just to say this?"

"I'm here to see my daughter. Also, I know you want to support Zhou Qing, but Ji Huaizhi won't allow it."

“A selfish person like him wouldn’t raise someone else’s child, let alone a girl.”

Seeing that Zhou Qing was living with Ji's parents, Zhang Fengning felt that she had guessed correctly.

I thought Ji Huaizhi was still living alone there.

Mr. Ji pulled Mrs. Ji aside and told her not to speak.

“But I know you want to support Zhou Qing, and I understand your thoughts. I came here because I don’t want Ji Huaizhi to suddenly send her to our doorstep in a daze.”

Zhang Fengning felt that Ji Huaizhi was absolutely capable of doing such a thing.

Father Ji glanced at Zhou Qing, who was still crying, and asked, "Zhou Qing, did you hear that?"

"Remember what your mother said."

Last time she left quietly by herself, but this time she came and said these things to his face. Even the strong-willed Zhou Qing felt like he had been hit over the head.

Zhang Fengning guiltily avoided eye contact.

"Don't blame your mother, she also wants to pursue her own happiness."

“Yes, you don’t need to worry about Ji Huaizhi. He won’t suddenly send the child back to you.” Ji’s father also said solemnly, “But you can’t see Zhou Qing in private anymore.”

"We will change her surname, and then she will be a member of our Ji family."

Zhang Fengning frowned: "You want to change your surname too?"

"Her biological father is probably turning in his grave."

Ji's mother: "You don't even care about the child anymore, so why do you care whether she takes the surname Zhou or Ji?"

Ji Dapeng looked up and saw that Zhou Qing was really crying. A hint of sympathy appeared in his eyes. He suddenly felt that his parents were too harsh.

Zhou Qing was already pitiful enough, and they still bullied her, making them compete with her for things.

“Well, I’m still her mother after all.” Zhang Fengning’s words lacked confidence: “Never mind.”

"Do whatever you want, just keep an eye on Ji Huaizhi."

Zhang Fengning looked at Zhou Qing, who was silent, and said, "I want to talk to her privately for a while."

Mr. Ji wanted to refuse, but Mrs. Ji stopped him, saying, "Go on, Qingqing, we'll wait for you to come back for dinner."

Zhang Fengning pouted: "Don't blame me, Ji Huaizhi's situation is a case of marriage fraud, I can't live with someone like him."

“When did our family commit marriage fraud? You just didn’t do your research and rushed into getting the marriage certificate.” Mother Ji retorted, “As for your claim that he doesn’t have marital relations with you, we don’t know either.”

"To put it bluntly, you're both equally bad, neither of you is any good."

Ji Dapeng: "Grandma, you've included Uncle in your insults too."

"And your father, he's no better than anyone else," Ji's mother yelled at her grandson.

Ji Dapeng felt wronged. Why was it their family's business again?

Zhou Qing stood awkwardly downstairs: "If you don't want me anymore, why did you come back?"

"You're still bringing this man along? Don't worry, this burden of mine won't follow you."

Zhang Fengning tugged at her: "How dare you talk to me like that? It's not easy for Mom to raise a child alone. You really hold a grudge against me, don't you?"

Turning to Lin Kaihui, he said, "Kaihui, you go ahead first. I need to say a few words to the child."

Lin Kaihui nodded.

He walked to a bench by the roadside and sat down to wait for her. He certainly didn't want to raise another girl; it would be a waste of money.

"You stay at the Ji family's place for now." Zhang Fengning patted her hair. "Mom will take you home later."

“Mom can’t support you on her own, and your stepfather Ji Huaizhi isn’t a good man either. Mom is remarrying for the third time now, and I can’t afford to delay anything.” As Zhang Fengning spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.

"Stay at the Ji family's house and they won't treat you too badly." You could tell from her demeanor.

"When you grow up or have a baby, Mom will bring you back."

Zhang Fengning, remembering their earlier discussion about changing surnames, spoke up again: "Mom advises you not to change your surname. You'd be letting your father down too much."

"See if you can make a scene."

Zhou Qing took a step back, her eyes filled with coldness.

Zhang Fengning thought she saw Ji Huaizhi in that look.

“You don’t need to pick me up anymore. I will live a good life in the Ji family. I will treat Ji Huaizhi as my own father, and they will be my own grandmothers.”

Zhang Fengning's brows furrowed even more.

"Since I'm eating their food, I'll definitely take the surname Ji."
