Chapter 20 The Demon Pill Stepfather 20
Ji Huaizhi stroked his chin and looked at the four people in front of him: "Why don't we take this opportunity to go out and have some fun?"
Father Ji immediately turned his head away: "I'm too old to go out and cause trouble for others, I won't go."
"You old man, just don't cause any more trouble, okay?" Ji Huaizhi made the decision: "It's decided then. I'll go borrow a car and we'll go on a road trip. It'll be a good opportunity for everyone to get out and relax."
Ji's mother was also somewhat tempted.
At such an advanced age, I've hardly ever left the house.
"Alright, go, go, everyone go!" Mother Ji clapped her hands happily, "Dapeng is going too, uh..."
Suddenly, his parents spoke up again: "Go back and ask your parents if they'd like to go? If they can't get time off, we'll go. It'll be good for us to go out and see the world."
"At such an old age, I haven't really gone out to have any fun yet."
Ji Dapeng hesitated: "We're bound to argue if we're together anyway, so why don't we just not be together?"
"We still have to say it, otherwise we'll end up arguing again." Mother Ji knew this too.
They've argued countless times over the years, and Huaizhi and Huaisheng have even fought several times. They haven't spent the last two Chinese New Years together, and I doubt they'd come even if I invited them.
However, Ji's mother thought it best to let Dapeng say it.
Zhou Qing looked at the computer screen with delight.
That's great.
She turned to persuade her grandfather, saying that going out to play was not causing trouble for others.
When Ji Dapeng returned home after dinner, the couple were already in bed watching TV.
Seeing her son come in, she knew he had something to say.
Yang Xiangui sat up: "What's wrong? Out of money?"
"No, Grandpa and Grandma want to go on a road trip and asked if you want to go?" Ji Dapeng didn't say why they wanted to go.
"A road trip?" Yang Xiangui looked at Ji Huaisheng with a puzzled expression. "Why are you suddenly thinking of going out to play? The kids have just started their holidays, it's peak season, what are you going to do at this time?"
Ji Huaisheng said softly, "That girl took the college entrance exam this year, right? The results should be out by now."
Yang Xiangui looked at his son: "So that's why you were willing to go out and play."
"It's ridiculous that they actually take a burden like that brat so seriously." She turned to her husband and yelled, "I think your parents are really crazy."
"The favoritism has even extended to foreign countries."
"Why are you yelling at me?" Ji Huaisheng's voice also rose: "If I'm not going, why should I go?"
“Going with us will only make us suffer.” She then said to her son, “You’re not allowed to go either. You’ll stay home. You’ll be a senior in high school next semester. I’ll have your mom sign you up for a tutoring class.”
"Why? I don't want to. I want to go play with Grandpa and Grandma." Ji Dapeng jumped up and down a couple of times.
"What are you going to do? I think you've gotten too wild. Don't you know who you belong to anymore?" Ji Huaisheng pointed at him with the remote control.
“Aren’t we a family? Mom and Dad, don’t you think your attitude towards Grandpa and Grandma is a big problem?” Ji Dapeng, who is now quite strong, stood directly at the foot of the bed, blocking the TV hanging on the wall.
"If I follow suit in the future, will you still not care?"
Ji Huaisheng angrily threw the remote control at him: "It's a password."
But Ji Dapeng knows how to hide.
Yang Xiangui grabbed him: "Why are you hitting me?"
"And you, how dare you talk to your parents like that?"
“We don’t resent your grandparents; it’s because your grandparents were biased and hurt us.”
Yang Xiangui tried to sow discord: "Look at your uncle, he's so old and still living off your grandparents, but what about us?"
“We live so close by and now they don’t even invite us to eat. They don’t even call us when they go out to play, so they ask you to pass on their messages. It’s obvious they don’t want us to go.”
The more I talked about it, the more I realized that was exactly how it was.
"Ji Huaizhi is shameless too, how could he have the nerve to do that?"
"He just lives off his parents. He's spent all of their retirement money. Anyway, I'm not going to take care of them when they get old."
Ji Dapeng: "The reason I didn't invite you guys to dinner is because you always cause trouble during meals."
"And my uncle is making money driving a sports car now."
"You believe that?" Yang Xiangui sneered. "Anyway, your grandparents were wrong."
"And that Zhou Qing, I think they're all crazy!"
"What's wrong?" Ji Dapeng swung his arms a couple of times, his tone impatient. "I've been eating there for so long, and they always give me money to buy things. How come you don't remember that?"
She jumped up and down in anger, shouting, "How could you do this to me?"
"Grandpa and Grandma are so old." Ji Dapeng said, his voice changing as he sounded like he was about to cry.
“Grandpa sometimes forgets things, he still thinks I’m in elementary school.”
"They're all old."
The tone of his son's voice made Ji Huaisheng feel a lump in his throat, and he turned his head away from him.
Seeing him waving his hand impatiently, he said, "Get out, get out, go by yourself."
"Then give me the money."
"You want more money? What money are you going to bring with you when you go out with them?" Yang Xiangui refused to give it to him.
But Ji Dapeng wouldn't go out: "No, I'm so old and I don't even have a penny on me."
"Ask your grandma, they have high pensions."
"Mom!" Ji Dapeng said angrily, "Aren't you afraid that I'll treat you the same way in the future?"
Yang Xiangui cursed a couple of times in anger, then grabbed the bag from the bedside table, his temper flaring: "I owe you!"
"Who are we doing all this for?"
Ji Dapeng discovered that as long as he said that sentence, they would go along with him.
It turns out they knew it was wrong.
"When are we leaving?" Yang Xiangui counted out five red bills for him, but Ji Dapeng thought it wasn't enough and counted out three more for him.
"Let's wait until Zhou Qing finishes submitting her college application. My uncle still needs to borrow a car."
Hearing about the two of them made him angry, and Yang Xiangui told him to get lost!
As he reached the door, Yang Xiangui called him back: "Have fun, eat and play expensive things. Your grandparents' money will all be spent if you don't use it."
Ji Dapeng was impatient with what they were saying.
It's such a shame that we finally got to go out and have fun.
So annoying.
"Walking so fast, I was thinking of asking that girl how her exam went." Yang Xiangui lay back down.
After a while, she rolled over and said, "Why don't we go too?"
Ji Huaisheng looked down at her: "What are you going there for? To humiliate yourself?"
