Chapter 21 The Demon Pill Stepfather 21
The couple occasionally receive photos of their son while they are at work.
The five enjoyed the local cuisine and saw beautiful scenery along the way. Mr. and Mrs. Ji were wearing new clothes with floral patterns, and they took many photos together.
There is also a group photo of the five of them.
Ji Dapeng posted it in the group chat of the three of them.
Annoyed by the sight, Yang Xiangui simply set it to Do Not Disturb.
Ji Huaisheng didn't even look at it.
During dinner that evening, the two found the food rather bland and tasteless.
Seeing that her husband was in a bad mood, Yang Xiangui didn't want to ask about it, lest they start arguing again.
However, after dinner, I quietly called my son. It was quite noisy on the other end, as if they were participating in some kind of activity. After a few words, the other party hung up.
"This child, really..." Yang Xiangui looked at his phone screen, feeling somewhat annoyed.
Less than a minute later, my phone rang, and I received a video from my son.
He slowly strolled around with his phone in hand. In the middle was a large bonfire, and everyone present was singing and dancing. They were all dressed in ethnic costumes, and Ji's father sat next to his son, clapping.
Ji's mother and Zhou Qing stood opposite each other, holding hands and spinning around. They looked like they had put on makeup and styling.
Meanwhile, Ji Huaizhi, dressed in ethnic clothing, stood at the other end, being forced to drink by several local girls.
The group looked quite relaxed and comfortable.
"Mom, why are you calling? It's noisy here, I can't hear you. Just type it in or send a message."
Yang Xiangui felt even more frustrated after reading it: "That brat!"
She didn't care whether her husband was in a bad mood or not; he would throw things around and fight all the time.
Ji Huaisheng gave her a puzzled look: "What's wrong with you?"
Yang Xiangui tossed his phone to him: "Look at this yourself, it's infuriating! Why are our lives so miserable?"
"They're out enjoying themselves while we're stuck at home working hard."
"Why should we? And how long has it been since your parents gave us any money? You said you weren't biased, but now your heart is all over overseas. How shameless of you."
Ji Huaisheng returned the phone to her after reading it.
Without a trace of expression, she got into bed, turned on the air conditioner and the TV, and said, "Don't think about it."
"Ever since my mom called to say that my dad wasn't feeling well, I've completely offended people by not taking them to the hospital."
"They only invited us to dinner later because of Dapeng; it's probably impossible for them to pay us."
Yang Xiangui was unaware of this matter and looked at him with suspicion: "When did this happen?"
"How come I didn't know? Why are you so reckless?"
"If they don't give money to our family, then who do they give their money to?"
"Will you give it to your younger brother, Ji Huaizhi?"
Yang Xiangui felt infuriated just thinking about it, so he sat on the bed and punched the pillow.
“Even if it were you back then, you wouldn’t have gone. If you wouldn’t give it to me, you wouldn’t have given it to me. You could have given it to my son.” Ji Huaisheng has figured it out now.
They won't give them money, but they will give money to his son.
And isn't his son eating their food now?
When they get old, we can just leave them to Ji Huaizhi.
Anyway, his parents raised him their whole lives, so he can support himself for the rest of his life.
Ji Huaisheng had a very beautiful dream.
If Ji Huaizhi weren't around, he and his parents could still be considered a loving and filial couple, but with Ji Huaizhi around, there's no way to pretend anymore.
The two of them have been at odds for quite some time.
Ji Huaizhi's face was flushed from drinking. Because he had never suffered hardship, he looked very young and was very popular with the girls here.
The wine came one bowl after another.
He accepted everything offered and ate it all.
After the four of them had had their fun, they realized that Ji Huaizhi was already drunk.
“It seems like Dad hasn’t had a drink in a long time,” Zhou Qing said with a squinty smile.
"Yes, your father has become much more sensible since you were born." Mrs. Ji felt that life was not bad.
As long as he doesn't become a slacker, he can continue to live off his parents.
They've been living off their parents for most of their lives, so they're all their own children anyway.
“I think it’s because you and Grandpa are getting older and have matured a lot. When Grandpa wasn’t feeling well before, Dad was very quiet for a while.”
Ji's father looked at his drunk son with his hands behind his back, thinking, "As long as he gets better, that's fine."
Ji's mother was also puzzled, "Is that so?"
Is it really because you feel sorry for your parents?
The main reason is that he used to be such a scoundrel, but now Ji Huaizhi seems much more obedient.
Ji Dapeng, supporting his uncle, looked speechless.
Being sensible and having an uncle are completely unrelated, okay?
The group spent more than half a month traveling before heading home. Everyone was quite tanned, but their spirits were much better.
As soon as they got back, the people in the neighborhood noticed they were back. They saw them putting down their bags and looking happy, and it was clear they had had a great time.
"Oh my, Huaizhi has learned to take his parents out to play now."
"Old Ji, how was your trip, you two?"
When Ji's father saw that it was his usual card-playing buddy, he laughed and said, "Not bad, it's something new to see."
Seeing that her grandparents had started chatting, Zhou Qing went home with her father first. Ji Dapeng had just gotten out of the car and was running home with his things.
As soon as Zhou Qing entered the house, she opened the window and began cleaning, sweeping away the dust.
Ji Huaizhi lay directly on the sofa, sprawled out.
"worn out."
Zhou Qing poured him a glass of water: "Dad."
"My dear daughter." She took the water and took a sip before realizing, "This water has been sitting for a long time, it tastes weird."
Zhou Qing: "I think everything should be alright."
Ji Huaizhi didn't care and continued drinking.
"Stop doing that, let's rest for a while before we start." Ji Huaizhi got up to take a shower and go to bed.
Driving for so long really makes me sleepy.
"I'm not tired."
Mr. and Mrs. Ji chatted outside for a long time and even shared the local specialties they brought back with their old friends.
They entered the house with smiles on their faces, and when they looked up, they saw Zhou Qing already tidying up. Ji's mother quickly went over and asked, "What are you doing?"
