Chapter 22 Life Swap 22
"Tell me, why did you provoke her?" Ji Gangqiang felt that Sun Qiao's mouth was much sharper than before.
"I just can't stand the way she is," Feng Li said angrily.
"They raised your child so well, but did you take care of Yaoguang?" Ji Xiong sighed as he watched them walk down the road with his back to him. "Yaoguang is so well-behaved. If only we had been honest back then and switched them back together."
"Then Yaoguang won't be without a mother's love or a father's care."
Ji Gangqiang fell silent. Feng Li, her face dark, wanted to retort, but the man pulled her back.
"Dad, please stop talking. I'm really ashamed." Ji Gangqiang looked pained, feeling utterly useless.
Looking at the pickup truck parked in front of the door, I felt that I was inferior to Ji Gangzheng.
The signing was quick, and they said they'd come over for lunch, but Feng Li threw a tantrum and refused to cook, saying she had a headache and couldn't cook.
Everyone else knew she was just throwing a tantrum.
In the end, Sun Qiao and Ji Yaoguang cooked this meal together.
Ji Huaizhi killed a rabbit outside, brought it in, and cooked a pot of rabbit meat in a pressure cooker.
As soon as the meal was ready, Feng Li felt much better.
"I'm really sorry to trouble you, sister-in-law. This is an old ailment I picked up while working away from home, and I never expected it to suddenly flare up," Feng Li said politely, but a sly glint appeared in her eyes.
"Then you'd better be careful. If anything happens to you at such a young age, I think your husband will immediately find a stepmother for the child."
Feng Li: "......"
When it was time to eat, they moved the table outside, and Ji Xiong brought out a pot of grain liquor.
He wanted his two sons to have a couple of drinks with him.
While Ji Yaoguang and Ji Huaizhi were talking, no one noticed that Feng Li's face darkened when she saw the table full of spicy dishes.
"Eating something so spicy? That's so unhealthy." Feng Li has been working away from home for years and has long been accustomed to the light diet there.
So when I saw these spicy dishes, I found them a bit hard to accept.
"What are you being so dramatic about?" Ji Yaoguang said with a dark face. "You said you weren't feeling well and didn't ask you to cook, but we've already cooked it and you're still complaining. If you don't want to eat it, cook it yourself."
Feng Li was heartbroken: "What do you mean by this? How can you talk to your mother like that?"
“I don’t want to talk to you like this either, but do you think you did the right thing?” Ji Yaoguang’s temples twitched.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Ji Gangqiang also felt embarrassed: "Isn't there a plate of vegetables?"
“Yes! You eat the meat, I’ll eat the vegetables!” Feng Li said through gritted teeth.
After hearing this farce, Ji Huaizhi placed a large rabbit leg on his plate and said, "Eat."
Ji Yaoguang asked in surprise: "You poisoned this leg?"
"Give it back to me if you're not going to eat it."
Ji Yaoguang immediately took a bite.
Ji Xiong sighed inwardly, knowing that there was still a huge problem hidden in the family, and he wondered what Yao Guang would do after things were exposed.
Ji Huaizhi had been spoiled by Gangzheng's family since childhood, and he knew that the exposure of the matter would not affect Ji Huaizhi.
The one most affected was Yaoguang.
Everyone ate the meal with their own thoughts on it.
Three grown men were chatting outside, but the Ji Huaizhi brothers had disappeared somewhere.
Feng Li and Sun Qiao were washing dishes and talking inside the house.
With a quick glint in her eye, Feng Li had another idea: "Don't you think Yao Guang looks a lot like your man? And Huai Zhi looks a lot like Gang Qiang too?"
"I don't think so," Sun Qiao said, bowing her head to wash the dishes.
Undeterred, Feng Li continued, "Yes, look at their eyes and eyebrows. Yaoguang actually looks more like your man, while Huaizhi looks more like Gangqiang. It's true, someone once said that."
Sun Qiao was speechless: "They are uncle and nephew, isn't it normal for them to look alike?"
"Then tell me, when you had a difficult childbirth, I helped you take care of your son all night. I was so busy taking care of two children by myself, was it possible that I accidentally gave the two babies to the wrong babies?"
Sun Qiao's face darkened upon hearing this: "Are you sick, Feng Li? Who are you trying to annoy with what you're saying?"
Seeing her like this, Feng Li suddenly felt a sense of satisfaction.
It felt like I had her completely under my control. Wasn't she being quite smug in front of me?
The thought that her most prized son was the child of the man she hated most made Feng Li laugh.
Sun Qiao looked at the grinning Feng Li with a complicated expression: "Did something happen to you outside?"
“Everyone is struggling these days. Even though you haven’t made any money outside, at least you’re healthy, right?” Sun Qiao couldn’t help but offer a few words of comfort.
I'm leaving soon, and I'm afraid she'll go crazy.
Feng Li's smile vanished, her eyes suddenly turning sharp: "Sun Qiao, are you pitying me?"
“Although you and Ji Gangzheng are doing well, we’re not doing badly either. We have three children, and…” Feng Li said, a smile playing on her lips.
"And our only son is so outstanding, which is also thanks to your care over the years."
Sun Qiao's thoughts were not on the same level as hers, so she simply assumed that Sun Qiao was talking about Yao Guang.
Over the years, the couple has indeed taken good care of Yaoguang.
"Heh, we're not taking care of the child because of you, we're just pitying him." Sun Qiao scoffed.
“You just pack up and leave, but the child is looking forward to it. Gangzheng and I aren’t that heartless.”
After putting the bowl down, I was about to wash my hands.
Then Feng Li said again:
"I wasn't talking about Yaoguang."
Sun Qiao looked up in confusion: "You have other sons?"
“I’m talking about Huaizhi.” Feng Li’s voice wasn’t loud, but every word was malicious and hit Sun Qiao’s heart: “What I mean is that Huaizhi is my child with Gangqiang.”
Looking at her wide eyes, the pupils reflecting the ill intent on her face, Feng Li's heart almost melted.
“Sun Qiao, Sun Qiao, although I can never compare to you in this life, your most proud son is the child of Gangqiang and me.”
"Smack!"
The sound of a slap was crisp, followed by the sound of bowls and chopsticks shattering.
Those outside were stunned by the commotion. Had the two inside started fighting?
The two boys standing by the rock also looked over, and just like the others guessed, they thought the girls were fighting inside.
