Chapter 4 A Heartless Younger Brother! A Terrible Brother-in-Law?

Chapter 4 A Heartless Younger Brother! A Terrible Brother-in-Law?

"Although his grades aren't very good, he's very smart, and he often comes up with some strange and unusual things." Qin Shuang didn't know why they were asking these questions.

"Strange and unusual things?" The police officer's eyes remained fixed on her. "Like what? Anything else?"

Qin Shuang: "I didn't even think about it. You asked so suddenly that I couldn't remember."

The police officers exchanged glances: "You've already spoken with your brother-in-law; he knows all those people."

"He also confessed that he and two other classmates had previously broken into a convenience store with these five thugs and stole cigarettes, snacks, and several hundred yuan in change."

Qin Shuang was afraid that these things would affect him: "We have already resolved these issues and coordinated with the shop owner."

"I know that." The police officer gestured for her to calm down.

"He said he suddenly realized his keys were missing and had a bad feeling, so he stole someone else's car and happened to run into them committing a burglary."

Qin Shuang felt a warmth in her heart upon hearing this.

Even though he had lost his keys, he was still worried about his sister-in-law.

"There are actually some suspicious points in this case. What's your brother-in-law's usual attitude towards you?"

Qin Shuang lowered her head: "The child is rebellious, but he's not a bad person at heart."

That means they don't have a good relationship.

"You hit him the day before he went to the internet cafe? I saw bruises on his body." Another police officer looked at Qin Shuang's expression: "Was it because he helped them break into the convenience store?"

Qin Shuang nodded.

Suddenly, looking at the police officer's expression, he asked incredulously, "You suspect he deliberately gave them the keys?"

"It's all possible. Teenage boys have a strong sense of self-esteem. He might hold a grudge against you because of that beating, but he might suddenly stop himself from doing so."

"It's also possible, as he said, that the key was stolen by his group."

"Everything depends on what those five people say after they wake up."

"When Ji Huaizhi hit them, did those five people say anything? They knew each other, so they must have said something, right?" the police officer asked, looking at her surprised expression.

Qin Shuang thought of those five people, and Huai Zhi would hit whoever spoke, especially the last blow.

The man said he couldn't call the police, and when he pointed at Ji Huaizhi, Ji Huaizhi struck his hand with a stick and broke it.

Qin Shuang's lips trembled slightly: "How could that be?"

Before the two police officers could hear what she was saying, someone knocked on the door: "Captain!"

"Those five people have woken up, and they are already being interrogated."

Qin Shuang looked up after hearing this.

The police officer nodded: "Okay, what did the doctor say?"

"Multiple fractures and soft tissue contusions, plus a concussion, it's quite serious, but a simple interrogation shouldn't be a problem," the police officer at the door said.

"Okay, we'll be right up."

"What did you just say?" The two of them hadn't heard each other.

Qin Shuang shook her head: "It's nothing. When Huaizhi came back, they didn't say anything and just started fighting."

The police officer frowned when he saw Qin Shuang's pale face: "You should rest first."

"Once the five suspects have been interrogated, the child will be released if there are no problems."

"One against five, that's pretty impressive."

Seeing the police leave, Qin's mother rushed in. Seeing her daughter's pale face, she asked worriedly, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Qin Shuang shook her head and remained silent.

I kept thinking about the key.

It turns out they suspected Ji Huaizhi was also involved, which is why he can't come out now, not because of excessive self-defense.

"Mom, when is Renyi coming back?" Qin Shuang asked, her voice trembling with tears. She didn't really believe it.

But she was too scared.

"They're on their way and should be back before tonight."

Ji Huaizhi sat expressionlessly in the conference room, his hands wrapped in bandages and stained with blood.

The stun gun he used was still on the table.

"You mean you finished playing games at the internet cafe and suddenly felt uneasy, and then you realized you were missing your keys?"

“Yes.” Ji Huaizhi said impatiently, “You’ve asked me this many times already.”

"I heard that you and your sister-in-law don't get along very well? You often argue with her?"

"She's too long-winded." Ji Huaizhi's disdainful look was that of a delinquent: "Although I find her annoying, she can't be bullied by others."

“Good, it’s a man!” the policeman said again, staring intently at his expression. “The other five people have woken up.”

"He's not dead?"

"If I kill you, I'll be held responsible." The police officer frowned. "How do you know they stole your keys?"

Ji Huaizhi: "Didn't I say that they often ask about the family situation of the three of us? I didn't think much about it before and just told them that I only have my sister-in-law in my family."

"After that, they often said they wanted to come to my house to play, but I refused because there was nothing fun to do at my house."

"After my sister-in-law hit me that day, I ran into them at an internet cafe. They were playing League of Legends together there."

"After playing all night, they made an excuse and left. So I called two of my buddies from school to play games with me. After that, I felt really uncomfortable and upset, so I lay down on the table and slept for a while."

"When I woke up later, I still wasn't feeling better. I thought I was going to die from playing too many games, so I prepared to go home."

"I reached into my pocket and found that my house key was missing. My gut feeling told me that it was those five guys who did it. I've hung out with them before, so I know them. We've even done petty theft together. What would they do with my key?"

After listening, the police officer nodded: "Our team reviewed the surveillance footage; you're very skilled at riding a motorcycle."

Ji Huaizhi: "For us gangsters, isn't riding a motorcycle standard procedure?"

The police officer laughed in exasperation: "You actually have a point? I'd like to learn a lesson from you!"

Ji Huaizhi remained silent.

Suddenly a noise came from outside.

The policeman went out to take a look, then came back and said to Ji Huaizhi, "You sit here. I have some things to take care of. Someone will bring you food in a little while."

Seeing that he had gone off to do his work, Ji Huaizhi couldn't help but open the door and go out to check on the situation.

"I'm here to report that my wife has gone missing."
