Chapter 5 A Heartless Younger Brother! A Terrible Brother-in-Law? 5

"Tell me slowly? When did this happen?" The policeman poured him a glass of water.

The man was somewhat agitated and listless.

“We had a fight three days ago, and then she ran away.” Tears streamed down the man’s face as he said this.

“I thought she had gone back to her parents’ home. I sent her messages and called her, but she didn’t reply. I didn’t expect that when I called my mother-in-law and her family, they said she hadn’t gone back.”

"I really don't know. It's been two or three days already. Could something have happened?"

The police officer frowned: "You haven't contacted your wife at all during this time?"

The man nodded, snot dripping down his face along with his tears: "We often have cold wars, and sometimes we don't speak to each other for days."

"Just to prove a point."

"Fang Qiang is taking him to give a statement," the police officer said, frowning.

Fang Qiang nodded, then turned around and saw Ji Huaizhi watching the commotion: "What are you doing here? Go back and wait."

Ji Huaizhi leaned against the wall with his arms crossed: "I'm listening to him sing opera."

Li Feng nudged Ji Huaizhi's head: "Obstructing official business, is that it?"

"What? Didn't you see he was lying?" Ji Huaizhi shook his head in dissatisfaction.

"Look at the hair clippings on his neck. He even got a haircut because he was worried his wife wouldn't call the police sooner. It's really funny."

"Also, there's a faint smell of blood on you. It's very faint, but I still caught it." Ji Huaizhi sniffed. "It must be coming from the soles of your shoes."

“Your wife is in trouble. You came to report the incident looking anxious and worried, but you’re actually not worried at all because you’re not sweating.”

"This proves that you came to report the crime leisurely, which doesn't look like someone who is worried about his wife's safety."

The police officers stared at him blankly.

It seems they didn't expect him to actually have something to say.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Fang Qiang couldn't help but ask.

"Idiot." Ji Huaizhi rolled his eyes at Fang Qiang.

Li Feng noticed the man's nervousness and urged Ji Huaizhi to continue.

"You're letting a thug talk? He's obviously spouting nonsense!" the man yelled at the police officer anxiously. "I'm here to report a crime. Do you believe I'll file a complaint against you?"

Ji Huaizhi: "I didn't say anything wrong. If you don't believe me, look at the soles of his shoes."

"And even if you pretend to be very worried, you can still tell that you are full of energy and radiant. You must have had sex last night."

"Afterwards, I used orange blossom shower gel."

The man could not hide his shock.

Ji Huaizhi raised an eyebrow: "Did I hit the nail on the head?"

“Your expression shows surprise, and your eyes show fear.” Ji Huaizhi leaned closer to look at him and continued, “Your hands are trembling because you’re feeling guilty and scared, because I was right.”

"Your wife has indeed disappeared, or you could say she has probably been murdered by now."

“This matter is inextricably linked to you. Your reporting to the police is just a case of the thief crying ‘stop thief!’ trying to clear yourself of suspicion.”

Taking a step back, Ji Huaizhi touched his chin, his eyes narrowing: "There's yellow dirt on the soles of your shoes, if I'm not mistaken..."

"You buried your wife on Wangshan Slope because that's the only place where the soil is yellow."

Li Feng stepped forward: "It's not just the soil on the hillside that's yellow soil."

"But the soil there is the yellowest. In the past, people in the town would dig up yellow soil to mix with coal for fuel, so the yellow soil on his shoes must have been from the hillside."

Fang Qiang was also stunned.

Just as the man was about to make his move, she grabbed him and said, "Behave yourself."

Li Feng was surprised.

That was unexpected.

"Fang Qiang, take him away for questioning," Li Feng instructed. "Also, investigate who he was with last night."

"Investigate carefully."

He found Ji Huaizhi's words to be very reasonable.

Even if he had a reasonable explanation, the man's guilty attitude was clearly problematic.

Li Feng found Ji Huaizhi's nonchalant attitude strange: "By the way, how old did you just say you were?"

Ji Huaizhi rolled his eyes and coldly ignored him.

I wanted to go to the interrogation room to join in the fun.

Li Feng grabbed her by the collar and pulled her back: "Come here, I need to talk to you."

When Ji Renyi returned, he was drenched in sweat.

Seeing his wife surrounded by two police officers, his heart skipped a beat.

When Qin Shuang saw her husband, tears immediately streamed down her face, making Ji Renyi even more nervous.

Are you alright?

"It's nothing, it's nothing, she was just frightened." Qin's mother was speechless when she saw her daughter like this.

"Where is Huaizhi?" Renyi asked, holding his wife's hand as he noticed his younger brother was not there.

"We were just talking about this, let's hear what the police have to say first," Qin's father said.

"The five men have already been interrogated. They stole the key from Ji Huaizhi. They heard him say that only his sister-in-law was home, and that's when they got the idea to steal it," the police explained to them.

"Fortunately, nothing serious happened. Don't underestimate the evil in human nature."

Qin Shuang breathed a sigh of relief when she heard them say that they had stolen the key.

"Fortunately, Huaizhi came back. If he hadn't made it back in time..." Qin's mother pressed her chest, still feeling lingering fear.

"Can we go pick him up now?" Qin Shuang asked anxiously.

“Okay.” Captain Liu Song nodded.

"Captain, we got a call from the bureau about Ji Huaizhi."

Everyone's eyes turned to him. Liu Song went out to answer the phone, and after listening for a while, he glanced at the group of people.

After hanging up the phone, Ji Renyi rushed over and asked, "What's wrong? Did my brother get into trouble again?"

Liu Song's expression was somewhat strange, then he shook his head: "No, he should be considered to have made a contribution."

Ji Renyi's expression was also somewhat strange after hearing this.

His own brother performed meritorious service?

After talking with him, Li Feng realized that he had a very meticulous logical thinking and many of his ideas were based on his own set of principles.

They possess strong fighting skills, practical abilities, and logical thinking.

He's a promising talent. It's quite dangerous for someone like him to be left unattended by the state.

"Why did you go to vocational high school?" Li Feng couldn't understand.

"What's wrong with attending a vocational high school? Are you discriminating against people with higher education?" Ji Huaizhi said, lying on the stool.

Li Feng couldn't stand it anymore: "Sit down properly."

"Did you really make this stun gun?" Li Feng pressed the stun gun.

I must say, this is even better than the one used by their police station.

"I can also make drones," Ji Huaizhi said with a hint of pride. "Actually, I can learn a lot of things after seeing them only once."

"Then why did you go to a vocational high school?"

Ji Huaizhi pursed his lips and didn't answer when he saw him ask the question again.

Li Feng's colleague knocked on the door and peeked out:

“Brother Feng, Lin Changgeng did indeed spend the night with a woman yesterday. Fang Qiang has already gone to that woman’s house to question her.”

Lin Chang-geng was the man who came to report his wife's disappearance.

"Fang Qiang excused himself to go to the restroom, saying he did see a bottle of orange blossom shower gel in the women's restroom." The men speaking at the door all thought this young man was a promising talent.

Li Feng looked at Ji Huaizhi.

Ji Huaizhi shook his head: "I have another advantage, which is that I have a very sensitive nose."

Li Feng looked towards the door: "Did Lin Changgeng get anything out of him?"

The man shook his head: "He stubbornly denied it and couldn't say anything about the bloodstains on the soles of his shoes. In the end, he got a little anxious and said that if the body couldn't be found, he couldn't say that he killed the person."

Li Feng nodded: "Let's go to Wangshanpo tomorrow."

Then he looked at Ji Huaizhi and said, "You suggested the location, so you'll come along too."

"I'm not going." Ji Huaizhi refused without even thinking: "If there's nothing else, I'm going to go online."

“I just called our captain, and he said your brother is back.”
