Chapter 9 My Fierce Wife

Chapter 9 My Fierce Wife

Even if she had this thought, she was too embarrassed to say it. Feng Qiaoxiang had a job in the city and had been recognized as an advanced worker at such a young age, while her nephew's family...

Zhang Xiuhua also knew about Feng Qiaoxiang's marriage at that time.

The couple who had just gotten married ran back before dark because the family had initially put on a good show, but things went wrong as soon as the bride was taken away.

The wedding party over there was going on and on, and Feng Qiaoxiang wasn't one to put up with it.

He slapped the other party's relative across the face. The man had acted very kind before the marriage, but unexpectedly, he hit Feng Qiaoxiang in front of everyone, with the woman's relatives present. What kind of behavior is this?

The other party kept looking down on the woman's poor relatives, and despised them for being farmers.

Chaos erupted, and the bride's party and the groom's side started fighting.

Feng Qiaoxiang was a proud woman who would slap anyone she could find, and she called off the wedding. Her two brothers also felt that the other party had gone too far, so they threw down the gifts given by the groom and had the wedding party carry away the dowry.

It was because of this incident that Feng Qiaoxiang's reputation for being shrewish spread.

Such a good girl has been wasted like this.

“Actually, if your aunt hadn’t left, they might have actually gotten together.” Zhang Xiuhua thought of how good her sister-in-law and Feng’s mother’s relationship was back then.

When she went back to her parents' home, she would chat with Feng's mother. The two pregnant women secretly arranged a marriage between their children.

At the time, she had a good relationship with her sister-in-law, so she only told her about it.

"Really? That's fate!" The second son's wife thought they were a better match.

"It's not a good idea for us to bring this up. Huaizhi is in big trouble, and the Feng family probably won't be happy about it."

The second son's wife said, "That's not necessarily true. You saw how worried Aunt Feng and Uncle Feng are about her marriage."

Zhang Xiuhua told Wang Dashan about it that night.

After hearing this, Wang Dashan said, "Actually, I had the same thought. If Qiaoxiang had gone with Huaizhi, things might have been different."

"Will their family agree to that?"

Wang Dashan opened his eyes: "Don't say anything yet. Let's talk about it when Huaizhi's leg is better. I think Qiaoxiang's mother really likes Huaizhi. It would be best if they were meant to be, but if not, let's not talk about it."

Ji Huaizhi was actually quite bored at home. After finishing his housework, he would take a small stick and teach the children in the family to read and do arithmetic.

The Wang family found it strange and, upon asking, learned that he had secretly learned the skills in a literacy class, and his ex-wife had also taught him a little.

After hearing this, Wang Dashan hated Ji Shichui and Huang Zhaodi even more. What a smart child they were, and they were ruined.

Ji Huaizhi recovered quickly and has already started trying to chop firewood.

After chopping them, they were neatly stacked to one side, which was pleasing to the eye.

At first, his aunt didn't want him to do it, but seeing that he insisted on doing it and didn't hurt himself, she stopped him. He was indeed bored in the yard every day.

He wouldn't go out for a walk even when asked.

They didn't force him.

However, when asked why Zhang Xiuhua praised her nephew, she said he was capable and hardworking, but not very talkative, and would occasionally glance at Feng's mother while speaking.

The villagers knew that her nephew had a daughter, but after inquiring, they found out that she was a sent-down youth who ran away after getting into university.

Everyone just shook their heads; this kind of situation is quite common.

However, after Zhang Xiuhua said that, some people inquired about Ji Huaizhi's condition and asked if his leg would be lame in the future. Zhang Xiuhua told them the truth: his leg was much better and he would not be lame as long as he took good care of it.

She even openly said that if there were any suitable candidates, she would keep an eye out for her nephew.

The others readily agreed.

At this moment, someone spoke up: "Isn't this readily available? Sister Feng, weren't you asking around before?"

"Let's see if these two kids are meant to be."

"Yes, you and Da Mi were so close back then, maybe this is another kind of fate between you and Da Mi."

Feng's mother blinked; she hadn't thought about it yet.

However, she seemed to have heard her daughter mention that Da Mi's son was quite handsome.

She didn't think of it at all.

Upon hearing this, Feng's mother and Zhang Xiuhua exchanged glances, and seeing the expectation in each other's eyes, they understood that the other meant the same thing.

Mrs. Feng was caught off guard. She should take some time to find out what was going on in Ji Huaizhi's family.

Zhang Xiuhua knew this was sudden, so she quickly tried to smooth things over: "You guys are really jumping to conclusions. We should see if the two children are really interested in that, otherwise it would be bad."

The others nodded in agreement.

Everyone was just saying it casually.

The second son's wife had packed a lot of bean sprouts and chestnuts, and was about to deliver them to the Feng family when she stopped in her tracks.

Looking towards the closed room, he called over a few children: "Douzi, bring your little sister Gou'er over here."

The kids ran over together, with Douzi, usually the most mischievous, protecting Ji Gou'er as they came over: "What's wrong, Mom?"

"Take this to Sister Qiaoxiang and tell her to come over and play when she has time." He patted Ji Gou'er's head and said, "Gou'er, let's go for a walk together."

Ji Gou'er nodded, smiling sweetly and looking very well-behaved.

It melted her heart. Why didn't she have a daughter back then?

A group of children arrived at the Feng family's door. Feng Qiaoxiang and her sister-in-law were at home. She was listening to her sister-in-law talk about a family that had someone a little older than her, who had never been married, but whose family was poor.

Ask her if she wants to go see her.

She feels nauseous at the sight of men now.

"Sister-in-law, I'm going out to take a look." Several children were making a lot of noise at the door.

But Feng Qiaoxiang thought it sounded very pleasant.

"What did you guys bring to our house?" Feng Qiaoxiang asked, seeing what Douzi was holding.

"Bean sprouts and chestnuts!"

"Bean sprouts and chestnuts!"

After Douzi said it once, the other children repeated it. Ji Gou'er was too young to keep up.

Feng Qiaoxiang's gaze fell on her, what an adorable little girl: "Whose child is she?"

“From Ji Huai’s family.” Ji Gou’er said, puzzled. Hadn’t she already asked?

Feng Qiaoxiang couldn't resist pinching her cheek, and Ji Gou'er backed away in fright: "You have frostbite."

Seeing the child, she couldn't help but laugh and took the things from their hands: "Wait for me a moment."

The children were well-behaved, their eyes filled with anticipation.

They guessed she was going to get snacks for the kids, and they were all beaming with excitement.

Feng Qiaoxiang did not disappoint them, and grabbed two handfuls of roasted peanuts: "Here, take a bite."

"Thank you, Sister Qiaoxiang."

"Thank you, Sister Qiaoxiang."

"Thank you, sister."

Ji Gou'er probably looked the cutest; she had the most peanuts in her pocket. Ji Qiaoxiang patted the little tuft of hair on her head.

"Let's go back inside and warm ourselves by the fire; it's freezing outside."

The children skipped and hopped back home, with Ji Gou'er protecting Dou Dou.

After returning home, she started calling for her father. She first met her aunt and gave her a handful of peanuts.

The second son's wife looked at her son, who was eating heartily, and then at the sensible little girl, and wanted to put him back.

Douzi ran away immediately after seeing her mother's expression.

"What does the dog think of Aunt Qiaoxiang?"

"Hello, sister, you pinch my cheek."

She couldn't help but laugh: "That's because I like you."

Ji Gou'er went back to his room and gave the peanuts to his father: "Dad, look, peanuts!"

"What was your aunt saying to you just now?" Ji Huaizhi asked.

Upon hearing his daughter's words, Ji Huaizhi knew that she wanted to set him up on a blind date, probably with the girl who had delivered the gift the other day.

"You eat it yourself."

Ji Huaizhi's leg swelling had subsided, and he could start working again without crutches.

The Wang family wouldn't let him work in the fields, so he would go chop firewood when no one was around.

When everyone saw him slowly dragging a bundle of firewood to the door, they were quite surprised.

"Your leg isn't even healed yet, and you dare to go up the mountain to chop firewood?"
