Chapter 254 Mother and Child Are Safe

The house had been cleaned up, but it was still filled with a bloody and damp smell. Zhou Jing'an asked someone to bring in flowers so that the fragrance could dispel the smell.

Jiang Ling was still unconscious. Doctor Lin repeatedly assured Zhou Jing'an that she was just unconscious due to exhaustion and there was nothing wrong with her except that she was a little weak. Only then did he feel relieved.

He stayed with her all the time, holding her hand, looking at her pale and weak face, leaning over and kissing her cheek with heartache, tears almost falling.

Xia Zhixian walked in and saw him like this. She sighed, "The emperor summoned you to the palace this morning. Why aren't you leaving yet?"

Ye Song saw that it was getting late, so he told Xia Zhixian anxiously.

At this hour, Zhou Huaixin watched over his grandson for a long time, had breakfast in a hurry and went to court. Jiang Yi also looked around his nephew. Although he cared about Jiang Ling, he didn't dare to go in directly. He just glanced at him through the gauze curtain and then went to court.

Zhou Jing'an stared at Jiang Ling without blinking, shook his head, and spoke in a hoarse voice, "I want to protect her."

Almost everything that needed to be discussed was discussed in Zichen Hall yesterday, and this morning we are just finishing it up. It doesn't matter whether he is there or not.

Before Xia Zhixian could persuade him again, Zhou Jing'an had already called Ye Song and asked him to go and apologize to the emperor on his behalf, and that he would go there in person to accept the punishment in the future.

Ye Song agreed, but after taking two steps, Ye Bai hurried in and said, "Sir, the Emperor has sent a message saying that you don't need to go to the palace anymore."

Zhou Huaixin went to the court to bring the good news. All the civil and military officials congratulated him with a smile. He smiled brightly when he heard this. Feng Yu knew that Zhou Jing'an would definitely not let Jiang Ling go alone, so he didn't wait for him to come and apologize to him, and simply let him stay with her.

Zhou Jing'an nodded and said, "Thank you, Your Majesty." Then he fell silent again, took her hand and kissed it.

Xia Zhixian sighed lightly and turned to leave the inner room.

Ye Song frowned, a little worried, "Madam, the young master has been guarding the young lady motionlessly for an hour, and he hasn't had a sip of water or a bite of food."

"Forget it, let him be." Xia Zhixian waved her hand. "He won't move even if we send him there. We'll just have to wait until Ling'er wakes up."

Jiang Ling woke up slowly at 8 o'clock in the morning and opened her eyes. Zhou Jing'an came over and looked at her nervously.

"Ling'er?" He lowered his voice very softly, his eyes red. "You're awake. Are you feeling unwell?"

Jiang Ling blinked, feeling very weak and with a dull pain in her lower body.

She frowned and spoke in a hoarse voice, "I want to drink some water..."

Zhou Jing'an quickly agreed and stood up to get it, but because he maintained the same posture for too long, his body became stiff and numb when he stood up suddenly, and he almost fell down.

He held the water, not daring to move her easily, "Don't get up, I'll feed you." He took a sip and leaned over to kiss her lips.

The warm water flowed in slowly like a gurgling spring, moistening her lips. After feeding her several times, her dry throat finally felt better.

"I'll go get Doctor Lin. Wait a minute." Zhou Jing'an was about to get up when Jiang Ling stopped him and asked, "Where's the child? Let me take a look."

Zhou Jing'an said gently, "Grandma and the others are taking care of it. I'll go get it and show it to you."

He hasn't taken a close look at it yet.

Doctor Lin took her pulse and said, "You're still a little weak, but it's nothing serious. You need to rest well during the confinement period."

Zhou Jing'an held the soft and gentle child in his arms with stiff hands and feet, which made everyone feel nervous. "Be careful."

Jiang Ling watched him come in, her eyes glued to the child in his arms, and she smiled unconsciously, "Hold it here quickly..."

Zhou Jingan carefully placed it next to her pillow and smiled at her, "It weighs a full seven pounds and eight ounces."

She tilted her head, and the child opened his eyes and looked left and right. His white and tender little face was so smooth that it softened into a dent when she poked it lightly.

Jiang Ling couldn't help but smile at him, watching him wave his cute little hands, and murmured: "How cute, this is actually my child..."

Tao Yi and Meng Wanjie had not left yet and were standing by the bed watching them. Jiang Lan and Xia Zhixian also came over and pushed Zhou Huanan and Su Wantang aside.

Several people smiled gently and started discussing.

"This child cried for a while after he was born. He is very well-behaved. He must be a sensible child."

"Yeah, he has really big eyes and is handsome."

"Unlike when Ah Yi was born, he was dark. Look how fair and tender we are."

"I think her nose and mouth look like my sister-in-law's. She's really pretty."

"Yes, his eyebrows and eyes look more like Bu Yanduo."

Jiang Ling listened to them with a smile, and couldn't help but kiss her lovely son, with tenderness in her eyes.

She turned to look at Zhou Jing'an, who was staring at her. "The child's eyebrows and eyes look like yours. He must have peach blossom eyes."

Zhou Jing'an chuckled and looked at the baby in the cradle. He couldn't help but turn his gaze to Jiang Ling again. Seeing her happy expression, he nodded and said softly, "Everything is fine."

If only it were a daughter, if only she looked more like her.

Zhou Jing'an wanted their child to look more like Jiang Ling, so that he might like her more.

He felt a little greedy.

He would rather not have a child as long as she is safe.

Jiang Ling admired her son for a long time. The little guy was very considerate and kept smiling with his big eyes, which made everyone very happy.

"Okay, take a break. Take the baby downstairs and feed him." Meng Wanjie stepped forward and looked at her distressedly. "Sleep a little longer."

Jiang Ling nodded and kissed her son again, "Okay."

Xia Zhixian asked again, "Are you hungry? There's chicken soup simmering on the stove in the small kitchen."

"I want to drink something, thank you, mother." Jiang Ling smiled.
