The manager brought some rattan chairs for them to sit on. Although they were not sitting on the floor, it was almost the same.
Several people sat around the fire with a small table in front of them. Each person was eating a grilled fish while waiting for the Wu family's chef to bring the cooked fish over.
"Brother Zhou can actually grill fish? It tastes really good." Qi Tianyang praised highly.
The others all agreed.
Zhou Jing'an replied with a smile as he peeled the meat off the grilled fish in his hand and put it on the plate.
A plate full of fish was brought in front of him, and the half-eaten grilled fish in Jiang Ling's hand was taken away.
"Eat this. The fish bones have been removed, so it will be more convenient." Zhou Jing'an took a bite of the fish she had eaten without hesitation, and watched her eat with a smile on her face without blinking.
Men and women sat on both sides, with Jiang Ling and Zhou Jing'an almost as the dividing line.
The cooked fish were served in separate plates. Two big, plump fish were made into fish stew and steamed fish respectively. In addition, some smaller fish were used to make soup, and a bowl of it was served to each person.
After taking a sip of the fish soup, I felt it was so delicious that even the chill of the autumn wind was reduced a little.
Jiang Ling's eyes sparkled. "Wanying, where did you find your chef? His cooking skills are really good."
Wu Wanying was also eating with gusto, and replied with a smile: "My father found it from other places. He is not only good at cooking fish, but also shrimps and crabs."
Zhou Jing'an placed the fish on Jiang Ling's plate and whispered to her, "If you like it, how about paying a high price for it?"
She was startled, and while smiling, she glanced at Wu Wanying and stopped him in a low voice: "Don't do that. A gentleman doesn't take away what others like. Wanying loves food. If you snatch it away, I'm afraid she will be angry with me."
Zhou Jing'an smiled and replied, "Then I'll go ask Master Wu where he found it."
"Sure." Jiang Ling winked playfully.
With delicious food around, everyone was busy tasting it, only occasionally chatting a word or two.
The fire was burning brightly, the dry wood crackled from time to time, and sparks flew out. Across the fire, the beautiful woman sitting opposite was hidden in the firelight, her bright smile was covered with a layer of haze.
As they talked, their eyes kept looking at each other.
He didn't dare to look at it any longer, so he just glanced at it quickly and looked away. He picked up the teacup and took a sip as if to cover up, but the tea leaves almost slipped into his mouth, so he put it down in a hurry.
Zhou Jing'an had already noticed the four people's little movements. Seeing them like this, he remembered the time when he and Jiang Ling came here.
It's the same, taking advantage of the crowd or other obstructions, I just want to take one more look at her.
He chuckled and saw that Jiang Ling had finished eating, so he asked her if she wanted to go for a walk nearby.
Jiang Ling understood what was going on. He helped her stand up, said hello to everyone, and left.
"You want to bring them together?" she asked.
Zhou Jing'an chuckled softly, interlocked his fingers with hers, and said gently, "Whether it succeeds or not depends on their luck. I only wanted to help because I thought of my past."
Jiang Ling also smiled, "We won't interfere. Everything depends on their own wishes."
The two of them walked along the stream, feeling warm and sweet, but the situation over there was a bit awkward.
Wu Wanying had already found another excuse to slip away. She didn't want to be a nuisance here.
There were only a few of them left, and no one spoke for a while.
In the end, Qi Tianyang was bolder and sat down next to Cheng An first, starting to chat with her.
"Xiao An, the martial arts competition will start the day after tomorrow. Will you go to watch me compete?"
Cheng An moved a little further to the side. Seeing that he asked so bluntly, his cheeks felt hot unconsciously, but he said simply, "No, my mother told me not to go out as much as possible."
Qi Tianyang's eyebrows drooped, he supported his face with his arms on his knees, and sighed with regret.
He murmured quietly: "If you don't come to see me, I won't be interested in competing..."
With him taking the lead, Jiang Yi followed closely.
In short, he and Su Wantang are already engaged, so he gets along more naturally than them.
"I just saw that you didn't drink much of the fish soup, but you didn't like it?"
Su Wantang shook her head, a look of embarrassment on her face. "I just ate too much grilled fish. The fish soup was delicious, but I can't drink any more."
Jiang Yi looked at her and smiled unconsciously.
"I can do that, too."
"What?" Su Wantang turned to look at him.
Jiang Yi's brows were bright and his face was gentle. "I can grill fish too. If you want to eat it in the future, I will grill it for you."
Su Wantang smiled sweetly, "Okay."
But things were not going well for Chen Yuanzong, and Zhou Huanan ignored him completely.
He didn't dare to offend her and stayed away from her.
Zhou Huanan seemed not to see him. She was drinking a bowl of fragrant fish soup in her hand and staring at the fire in a daze.
Chen Yuanzong didn't dare to disturb her. He used branches to stir the fire from time to time to make it burn more vigorously, and kept watching her out of the corner of his eye.
Looking at her blank mind, I couldn't help but smile up and feel a little excited in my heart.
He also stared at the fire, and the firelight reflected his gentle and satisfied smile.
It doesn't matter if I don't say anything, it doesn't matter what happens, as long as I can look at her.
Lin Cixiao's side was slightly better than Chen Yuanzong's. Although they also sat on separate sides, the atmosphere was more relaxed.
Jiang Fei tugged at her sleeve and saw him silently walking over and sitting next to her without saying a word. She couldn't help but turn to look at him.
Feeling the gaze from the side, Lin Qixiao curled up his fingers and slowly turned his head.
Their eyes met, and the firelight illuminated their red faces clearly.
Lin Cixiao looked calm on the surface, but he was actually so nervous that he had no expression on his face. He racked his brains but still had no idea what to say to her.
After holding it in for a long time, he finally managed to say, "Don't go down to the river easily in the future. The water is cold and dangerous."
