Seeing his serious expression, Bei Yutang silently accepted the money.
Lei Tian stood at the door, watching Bei Yutang's figure gradually disappearing in the distance, his eyes becoming moist.
When Bei Yutang reached halfway up the mountain, he noticed someone following him.

After she left just now, he looked at the empty house and felt completely empty.

"Have you really decided to follow me?" Bei Yutang asked.

After reaching the foot of the mountain, Bei Yutang went to Bei Mansion.
What caught the eye was a ruin. Bei Yutang was standing there motionless, wearing a hat and a veil covering her face.
Lei Tian stood there with her.
Passersby cast suspicious glances at him.
An old man approached and said, "Young lady, if you're here looking for someone from the Bei Mansion, you'll probably be disappointed. The Bei Mansion was reduced to ashes by a fire a year ago. Not a single one of the twenty or so people in the Bei family escaped. Alas, how pitiful."
Bei Yutang didn't say anything, but Lei Tian was very surprised when he heard it.
"What kind of fire is that? How is it possible that no one can escape?" Lei Tian asked in disbelief.
The old man sighed quietly, "Who knows?"
A woman nearby came out and muttered quietly, "I heard the Bei family is possessed by ghosts, that's why no one has escaped. Lately, this house has been a bit unclean and haunted. I guess the Bei family is holding onto their grudges and staying here."
"Haunted?" Lei Tian looked at her in surprise.
Bei Yutang's expression changed slightly, and he couldn't help but look at the woman.
Seeing both of them were so interested, the woman said cheerfully, "Yes. I heard from the night watchman, Old Wang, that some time ago, while on his way here, he heard a sobbing sound. It frightened him so much that he fell ill for several days."

As they walked along the road, Lei Tianren couldn't help but ask, "Are you saying it's really haunted?"
"We'll know if we go and check it out tonight." Bei Yutang had an idea in her mind, but she didn't know if it was true. She would have to check it out before she could find out.
When Lei Tian heard her words, his eyes widened.
"S-Should we go to that house tonight?"
"Yes." Bei Yutang looked up at him, "Are you scared?"
