Chapter 79 The Real World

Bei Yutang raised her hand and brushed off the dust on him. Her eyes swept over the clothes she was wearing, and she sighed inwardly. It seemed that she should find a way to make money.

She took Xiao Zimo's hand and said, "Let's go home."

Xiao Zimo looked up in surprise.

Mother, you didn’t hit him.

It took more than an hour to return to the village from the town, and by the time I got home, the sun had already set.

Xiao Zimo made a fire, and Bei Yutang washed vegetables and cooked.

The millet rice wasn't even out of the pot yet, but the aroma of rice already filled the kitchen. Bei Yutang boiled the Chinese cabbage and sprinkled a little salt on it. Without any other seasonings, it was the only way.

When the rice came out of the pot, Zimo stared at it with his eyes wide open, but he quickly turned his head away and lowered it. He couldn't eat this rice. His mother hadn't prepared any dinner for him today, so he could only drink water.

The boy Mo hung his head and stood silently in the corner.

Bei Yutang was wondering why she didn't hear Xiao Zimo's voice. When she turned around, she saw the little guy squatting in the corner like an abandoned puppy.

Looking at his lonely background, Bei Yutang felt inexplicably sad.

Bei Yutang remembered that every time Mu Zhitao ate something delicious, Xiao Zimo never got a share, even if she threw it away, she would not give it to him.

When Xiao Zimo was very young, he would quarrel for food, but every time he would be beaten by Mu Zhitao. After a long time, Xiao Zimo no longer dared to ask her for food.

Every time he could only stand in the corner, watching Mu Zhitao eat and drink alone. Sometimes, if he watched for too long, Mu Zhitao would beat him up and scold him.

Over time, every time there was something delicious, the little guy would hide in the corner and wrap himself up, so that Mu Zhitao couldn't see him and wouldn't hit him.

This pattern has become a habit. As long as there is something delicious, the little guy dare not appear in Mu Zhitao's sight.

Bei Yutang became angrier the more she thought about it. If Mu Zhitao were here, she would definitely go up and beat that woman up.

"Mo'er, come here."

When he heard his mother calling, Xiao Zimo's body trembled unconsciously.

Mother, he didn’t go to see it, he really didn’t go to see it.

Little Zimo argued in his heart, but in reality he didn't dare to say a word, and tremblingly walked to Bei Yutang's side. Bei Yutang stuffed a bowl of millet rice into the little guy's hands.

Xiao Zimo widened his eyes and looked at the thing in his hand with a look of surprise.

Bei Yutang looked at the little guy standing there stupidly and said with a smile, "Eat quickly. After you finish eating, mother will give it to you."

"Mother, are you really for me to eat this?" The desire in Zi Mo's eyes and the long-standing fear of the original owner were contradictory and intertwined. It was presented in front of her through his clear and innocent eyes, which softened her heart.

"Well, whatever amount Mo'er wants to eat, I'll give it to you." Bei Yutang looked at the expression on his face, feeling a little sad. "Eat quickly, or I'll take it back."

The half-joking words sounded completely different to the little guy. He took her words seriously and was afraid that his mother would take back the millet rice that she had given him with great difficulty, so he ate it up in big mouthfuls.

Bei Yutang was startled by his actions and quickly poured him a glass of water. "Eat slowly. Mother won't take it away from you."

Xiao Zimo kept moving and continued to eat in a hurry.
