Mr. Xu was somewhat embarrassed. “That’s not what I meant. Your grandfather brought Huang Pinjia here to find you a companion. He didn’t even like him back then. You insisted on choosing him in the end. This kid used to be simple and innocent, and he was alright. But now he wants more and more. He’ll use your name to do other things. Since you’ve already let go, just ignore him.”
Xu Keke and Zhou Heng exchanged a glance. Neither of them expected that Xu's father, who was usually timid and unassuming, would say such a thing.
"With your looks, you can find any kind of guy. If you really like handsome guys, go online and you'll find plenty of good-looking ones."
Zhou Heng's face darkened; he really wanted to throw him out.
"Since you think Huang Pinjia is no good, why don't you advise Zhang Man to let go? You reminded her, didn't she listen?"
Unexpectedly, Xu Keke asked this question, and Xu's father hesitated for a moment, "How can you two be the same? Zhang Man has nothing. The connections and relationships she thinks she has are only because your mother used your name to help her make contacts. With Huang Pinjia's abilities, this little bit of help isn't even enough to eat. How could she possibly do anything else?"
Damn, that makes so much sense, what should I do? Xu Keke was speechless, leaving her father speechless.
Mr. Xu glanced at the coffee on the table, gestured to Xu Keke with his eyes, and when she nodded, he picked it up casually, took a small sip, and put it down. His gaze towards Xu Keke became somewhat strange.
"Is it hard to drink?" Xu Keke looked at him, puzzled.
“This tastes awful,” Xu’s father said, looking at her with some pity. “When you were unconscious, I saw your asset report, and I know you went bankrupt. Your grandfather left you the lion’s share, and all the money your mother has squandered over the years has left me with nothing. I can’t help you. But this tastes awful.”
Xu Keke is a germaphobe; she won't touch anything that someone else has drunk from. Thinking about the cola from earlier, Xu Keke glanced suspiciously at Zhou Heng standing to the side. She suspected he was retaliating against her, but she had no proof.
Zhou Heng ignored her gaze, remaining expressionless and showing no sign of guilt.
Even as her father left, Xu Keke didn't tell him that she was no longer interested in Huang Pinjia. This left her father with a heavy heart.
