The man was wearing a white hat and an old blue work uniform. He was carrying a long-handled brush in one hand and an empty bucket in the other.
As they approached, the eyes of the section chiefs widened; it was Director Du.
To their even greater surprise, not long after, two more people reluctantly walked in. One was Director Wu, and the other was Secretary Chen.
I don't know what trick Director Du used to invite these two people.
Factory Director Du greeted Xu Keke with a smile, "Little Zeng, it hasn't started yet."
Xu Keke nodded and smiled, "Yes, we are... assigning tasks!"
With these guys around, this job is really easy.
The section chiefs, who had been so arrogant before, have all become obedient now.
Xu Keke held up her schedule and explained the evening's work arrangements. It was simple: first, everyone would work together to clear out the mess, and then they would work in groups to paint the walls.

They weren't worried at all about getting paint splattered on their clothes. The others, who had only intended to go through the motions, ended up getting splattered even more despite their best efforts.

When the work started to go on until 1 a.m., the progress began to slow down. Several section chiefs started taking turns going out to rest, either to drink some water or to smoke a cigarette to relieve their fatigue.
