Chapter 444 Partner, Can I Borrow a Light? (22)

As an outsider, the eldest brother felt that something was off about the two's posture.

Suo Yanghe supported the gun with one hand and Yi Mu's ear with the other, using his body to shield Yi Mu from the attack.

They are similar in size, but the differences are obvious.

Yi Mu appeared somewhat petite beneath Suo Yanghe, but he was by no means weak.

Yi Mu realized that their current position was too ambiguous, so he pushed Suo Yanghe away and said irritably, "What are you doing behind me?"

Suo Yanghe looked at the clearing in front of the bushes: "What are you looking at?"

The eldest brother said, "Let's take the things back first, and talk as we go."

On the way back.

“I remember seeing an old book in my grandfather’s study. Based on your description, they look a lot like the people from ancient China.”

They have black hair and black eyes, yellow skin, and speak a language somewhat similar to that of the inhabitants of planet HX, but some of their pronunciations are very archaic.

Yi Mu had heard of the people of country Z on ancient Earth. Their planet had an abundance of cooking ingredients, among which the cuisine of country Z was the most diverse.

Yi Mu once saw a cookbook whose pictures and descriptions of various dishes made his mouth water.

"The ancient Earth perished thousands of years ago. How could there possibly be ancient Earthlings on this small island?"

Suo Yanghe shook his head: "This is just my guess. We can only be sure when we see the real person."

They took the fish back and discovered an unexpected guest at the campsite.

The two remaining members of T squad crouched around the camp like stray dogs.

Their eyes gleamed with a green light, and their lips were severely chapped, a sign of prolonged hunger and distress.

Suo Yanghe put down the spoils from the trip, looked at the captain, and frowned: "What's going on?"

The captain limped over to him and asked him to come down to the side to talk.

Yi Mu glanced at the two men's backs, then carried a bloody fish to the two T squad soldiers.

He stood in front of the two men, half-bent over, waving the fish in his hand.

The two soldiers, like cats, followed the fish's movements, shaking their heads and swaying their bodies, their eyes gleaming with a greedy, thieving light.

"Want some?"

The two soldiers, fearing they would be too late and miss out, nodded eagerly and reached out to grab the fish.

Yi Mu stood up, looked down at them, and said kindly, "Call him Dad."

The two soldiers froze for a second, staring at him with grim expressions.

Ge Guang and his companions sat by and watched the spectacle. They used daggers and knives to cut open the turtle's hard shell, cleaned the turtle meat with water, and then roasted it on the grill.

Salt, cumin, and lemon juice are used as seasonings to bring out the full flavor of the meat.

The two soldiers' stomachs rumbled, but they couldn't bring themselves to call out "Dad," a word of humiliation.

Yi Mu drew his dagger and, in front of the two men, cut off a piece of fish and grilled it over the fire for a while.

When the fish meat turned white, Yimu put it into his mouth.

The two men's eyes turned red as they starved for food, their bodies instinctively craving it after three days of hunger.

Even knowing that they couldn't act rashly given the current situation, they still couldn't resist and pounced on Yi Mu.

Yi Mu kicked out and easily sent one person flying. The person crashed heavily into a tree trunk and convulsed in pain.

Another person was pinned to the ground by Yi Mu, with a dagger pressed against his neck.

"Why are you so disobedient? I told you that if you call me 'Dad,' you'll get food. You've only been away from our home planet for a hundred years, and you've already forgotten all your manners?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Yi Mu made a small cut on the man's neck.

When the captain and Suo Yanghe returned, they saw this scene.

The captain snapped, "Yi Mu, what are you doing!"

Yi Mu turned his head and smiled innocently.

"We didn't do anything, just sparred a bit. I didn't expect them to be so weak."

Suo Yanghe walked behind him, helped him up, wiped the black smudges of grilled fish from the corner of his mouth, and said with a smile, "Naughty."

His stance was made clear in just two words.

Yi Mu's ears felt a little hot. In the past, his older brothers would only call him that affectionately at home.
