The deep red curtains were tightly drawn, and even though the sun was shining brightly outside, the light inside was not very clear.
The air seemed to be filled with the stench of blood, the smell of blood lingered in the nostrils, and a faint blood-red hue clouded the view.
A black coffin was placed in the center of the living room, adding an eerie and sinister feel to the dimly lit space.
A slender, pale hand touched the coffin, and Yin Yichen bent down to open the hole left in the coffin lid.
He inserted the bamboo tube with the funnel attached into the hole, and used a wooden ladle to scoop blood from a bucket and pour it into the funnel.
The zombie's low growl came from the coffin.
Suddenly, the curtains were drawn back, and a dark figure appeared in the living room.
Yin Yichen paused, looking at the newcomer, every cell in his body on high alert.
Glancing at the bucket full of blood, Yin Yichen said, "This is pig's blood."
However, the newcomer didn't seem to care about these things as he expected. Hunter D didn't even glance at the blood bucket; he simply asked, "Why is this happening? Where did she go?"
The voice, which was usually flat and even, now carried a sense of urgency.
Yin Yichen gripped the wooden ladle tightly. "Who?"
"That girl, she just disappeared like that, and then her zombie disappeared too. Why did that happen?"
Hunter D clutched his aching chest and swayed a couple of times. He had heard of and witnessed many strange and supernatural things, but what happened today still made him question the meaning of life. He looked at Yin Yichen and asked, "Can't her zombie drink blood?"
"Xiao Yin?" Yin Yichen frowned in thought. Could it be that Xia Linyin had already completed the game mission?
"Has her zombie reached the purple-eyed level?"
"Yes, her zombie eyes turned from blue to purple after drinking my blood."
Yin Yichen exclaimed in shock, "You're saying her zombie leveled up two times after drinking your blood? How is that possible?"
"I have half vampire blood in me, and perhaps that's why her zombie turned purple-eyed after drinking my blood."
Hunter D didn't explain much about his bloodline. His mother was bitten to death by a vampire when she was about to give birth. A vampire hunter happened to be passing by and chased the vampire away, which prevented his mother from being sucked dry. It was at that moment that the hunter cut him out of his mother's belly and took him back to the base to raise him.
Yin Yichen suddenly realized why Hunter D was so powerful; it turned out he was half-human and half-vampire.
He wasn't interested in the reasons behind it; what he cared about was how Hunter D's blood could cause a zombie's level to skyrocket. Yin Yichen had a sudden thought: "I can tell you the reason, but can you give me some of your blood?"
"You want my blood?" Hunter D narrowed his eyes. "The origins of you four are unknown, and no identity information can be found. It's as if you appeared out of thin air. Who exactly are you, and what are you doing?"
Yin Yichen's heart skipped a beat. What if the people of this world mistook him for an alien and took him in for research? He waved his hand and said, "If you don't want to give it to me, then don't. You're so stingy! I just want to make my zombie stronger. What zombie breeder doesn't want their zombie to become more powerful?"
"As for Xiaoyin..." Yin Yichen lowered his eyes and looked at his toes, revealing an expression that was both sorrowful and gratified. "She has naturally gone to another world, but for her, it is a kind of relief."
Yin Yichen sniffed, raised his hand to wipe away non-existent tears from the corner of his eye, looked at Hunter D, and said in a wise tone, "You wouldn't understand the level she's pursuing."
"She's dead?" Hunter D naturally interpreted Yin Yichen's words about going to another world as Xia Linyin leaving this world, that she was dead.
Although he had already guessed this would be the outcome—that Xia Linyin's disappearance was genuine and not some kind of magic—Hunter D still clenched his fists, his body trembling slightly, after receiving a definitive answer from Yin Yichen.
"I didn't mean to kill her. I didn't know her zombie form couldn't drink blood. I just..."
Hunter D left and returned to his home. He walked to the door of a room and pushed it open.
It was a cozy nursery, but many of the furniture pieces were outdated by today's standards.
On the table was a photo frame. In the photo, a handsome man was kneeling on one knee, kissing his wife's pregnant belly. The woman had one hand on her belly and the other on the man's head, smiling gently, radiating a warm maternal glow.
Hunter D picked up the photo frame, looked at the person in the picture, and asked, "Dad, Mom, did I do something wrong?"
Unfortunately, no one could answer him.
A breeze blew, and the curtains swayed slightly...
...
When Su Jinyan told Xia Linyin that he was leaving the game, Xia Linyin was stunned for a long time.
Although I've always had a mysterious confidence in Su Jinyan's abilities and believed that he would definitely be able to leave the game, hearing him say this suddenly still caught me off guard.
After realizing what was happening, Xia Linyin was genuinely happy and excited for him.
A hole resembling a teleportation array appeared on the ground, and beams of light shot out from it, with specks of starlight floating in the beams.
Su Jinyan stood beside the beam of light, dressed in a white silk Tang suit with faint ink bamboo prints on the hem and delicate frog buttons at the collar.
With her exquisite features and elegant demeanor, she resembled a clivia exuding a delicate fragrance.
The gentle smile on her lips gave people a sense of peace and tranquility.
"I'm leaving." Su Jinyan raised his long, slender hand and gently patted Xia Linyin's head.
"Hmm." Xia Linyin looked at him, suddenly feeling a lot of emotions.
I still remember the first time I met Su Jinyan. He was wearing a clean white shirt, with silver-rimmed glasses perched on his straight nose. He was very refined and handsome.
However, the occasional sharp glint in his eyes behind his glasses revealed that he was not as gentle as he appeared.
Now, Su Jinyan is about to leave, leaving the game and returning to reality.
"I'll be waiting for you in reality."
Su Jinyan said to Xia Linyin, just like the words he left for her on the note when he left Area B for Area A: "I'll be waiting for you in Area A."
Xia Linyin's eyes flickered. Would she return to reality? She wasn't sure.
What should Xiao Li do if she leaves?
Having grown up in an orphanage, there seemed to be nothing in the real world that she could cherish.
But how can I stay in the game to be with Xiao Li?
It seems she only has two choices: return to the real world or die in the game.
This is the choice that the game leaves for each player.
“You will return to reality,” Su Jinyan suddenly said, a mysterious glint in his eyes, his tone so certain.
