Chapter 19 The Cabin in the Woods 2

Furthermore, there is a scene in the movie where, after encountering a brutal zombie massacre, the female protagonist and her companions drive outwards, but just as they are about to leave the grove, the underground organization blows up the only tunnel leading to the outside world, forcing them to turn back.

The game wouldn't show players such a movie for no reason. The hint is quite obvious: the tunnel the game is referring to is probably the tunnel in the movie.

So where are she and Bai Xueer now...?

"Sizzle sizzle—"

After a burst of static, a new image appeared on the television screen.

It's a room, shown from a first-person perspective, as if someone is holding a camera and recording the surroundings.

The camera panned across the black-and-white television, the bloodstained axe, and the rough chain lying carelessly on the floor in the room, before focusing on the iron gate.

This is the room they're in right now! The camera is filming this room!

Xia Linyin clenched her fists nervously. Someone must have filmed this video before they were locked up.

The camera moved closer to the iron gate. Because it was a first-person perspective, watching the iron gate slowly open on the screen, Xia Linyin felt as if she herself was pushing open the iron gate and walking outside.

Outside the door was a long concrete corridor; to the left was a dead end, and to the right was a straight path leading to a basement.

The basement was filled with all sorts of strange and wonderful items.

Xia Linyin covered her mouth. It was the basement from the movie. This basement was exactly the same as the one in the movie!

The camera pans to the basement floor, and when the floor is opened, a modern elevator is revealed underneath, completely out of place with the basement's rustic style.

The elevator, with several transparent sides, descended into the distance. Suddenly, an invisible skeletal ghost abruptly appeared in front of the elevator.

The ghost was trapped inside a transparent box, and the skeletal ghost, which looked like condensed white smoke, floated around inside the box.

The elevator continued moving, and a tall, strong man appeared in front of it. The man was handsome, but his head was covered with sharp serrations.

The man stared blankly at the camera, holding a metal ball in his palm.

The elevator started moving rapidly, with all sorts of ancient creatures flashing by. Then, the television screen switched to a third-person perspective, showing the environment where the elevator was located.

The transparent boxes were arranged in a dense array, and the elevator was one of these boxes.

The box contained all sorts of bizarre and terrifying monsters: giant worms that violently rammed into the box, leaving bloodstains on it; and countless black bats that filled the box, killing each other out of hunger and devouring their companions...

Oh my God!

Countless monsters were imprisoned at their feet!

One by one, the transparent boxes in the scene went dark, until only the elevator and nine boxes containing monsters remained.

From left to right, the first box contains three scarecrows wearing ghost masks, and the second box contains a giant python as thick as a water bucket, hissing and flicking its scarlet tongue.

The third box contained a werewolf with sharp fangs and claws that gleamed coldly, standing over two meters tall, nearly three meters.

The fourth box contains a faceless girl dancing ballet, while the fifth box contains the very same zombies that tortured the female protagonist and her friends in the movie.

The sixth box contains a robot with one arm that is a sharp knife and the other arm that is a rocket launcher.

The grotesque demon in the seventh box let out a sinister, grotesque laugh.

The eighth box contained a woman dressed in a black robe, with her face covered in black totems and a vicious look in her eyes.

The ninth box contained the man whose head was covered in serrated edges and who held a metal ball in his hand.

A network of red lines crisscrossed between the nine boxes and the elevator, forming a maze-like map.

The box began to move along the red line at a moderate pace.

"It's moving! The boxes containing the monsters are starting to move! Xia Linyin, you have to think of something! The monsters are about to come up!"

Even though there were many messy red lines tangled together in the picture, it didn't stop Bai Xueer from understanding that these boxes were moving towards the elevator and getting closer and closer to it!

And this elevator goes straight up!

Those monsters will come up in the elevator!

"Xia Linyin! What are you still looking at! Quickly think of a solution!"

Looking at the contents of the boxes, Bai Xue'er's face turned as pale as a sheet of paper. Let alone nine boxes, the contents of any one of these boxes could easily overwhelm them!

Xia Linyin stared intently at the television screen, watching the red lines.

These red lines form a complex maze. From left to right, nine boxes enter through nine different entrances, and their final destination is the elevator.

All the boxes move at the same speed, and the box containing the giant python will be the first to reach the elevator.

Next up is box number four, the faceless ballerina, followed by box number one, the scarecrow, box number three, the werewolf, box number five, and box number six, the robot.

The three boxes—the seventh evil spirit, the eighth woman in black robes, and the ninth man with the sawtooth pattern—are on a dead end and cannot reach the elevator.

This can be considered a stroke of luck amidst misfortune.

However, the situation remains grim, as they will face giant pythons, faceless girls, scarecrows, werewolves, zombies, and killer robots.

The box containing the giant python is getting closer and closer to the elevator!

Xia Linyin picked up the axe and gestured at her wrist a couple of times.

"Xia Linyin, what are you doing?" Bai Xue'er looked at Xia Linyin's actions in fear.

"Cut off my hand!" Xia Linyin bit her lip, then took a few deep breaths.

"Are you crazy?" Bai Xueer looked at Xia Linyin incredulously, as if she were looking at a madwoman.

"Do you have a better way? I'm not going to sit here and wait to die!"

Staying means certain death, cutting off your hand offers a slim chance of escape.

Xia Linyin was very fortunate that no matter what kind of injury she suffered in this game, she would recover after returning to the Grand Hotel; otherwise, making this decision would have been much more difficult for her.

Xia Linyin silently chanted "Don't be afraid!" in her heart. If she didn't cut off her hand now, she would be swallowed whole by the giant python!

Taking a deep breath, Xia Linyin aimed at her wrist and chopped down hard!

"Ah!" Bai Xueer covered her eyes and screamed.

The axe stopped abruptly just before it struck the wrist. No! Still no luck!

Thinking about it is one thing, but actually doing it is much more difficult than imagined.

They are suffering both physically and mentally!

"Aaaaaah!" Suddenly, a blood-curdling scream came from outside!
