Xia Linyin rubbed her cheeks, her expression returning to normal; the punishment had not yet arrived.
Through trial and error, Xia Linyin also discovered that when her paranoia flared up, she didn't have to act like a zombie when she was alone.
However, when other people are present, you must not do anything that violates the settings. You must act like a zombie, wanting to bite anyone you see, commonly known as a "people-obsessed" person.
Xia Linyin opened her palm, twirled the keychain she had just taken from the nurse, and a smile curved her lips.
Unwanted hospital beds, broken medical equipment, tables and chairs covered in a thick layer of dust... the secondhand storage room is filled with all sorts of discarded old items.
The dirty bed sheet was carelessly rolled up into a ball and thrown in the corner.
A spider web hung in the corner, with a thumb-sized spider quietly resting on it, occasionally twitching.
After sifting through the scrap, Xia Linyin picked up a chair leg that had broken off from a chair. She held the chair leg and swung it around a few times, feeling that it was quite good.
Then she hugged the chair leg, sat against the corner of the wall by the door, closed her eyes, and began to conserve her energy.
Time ticked by, and night fell—
It has arrived.
As if sensing something, Xia Linyin opened her eyes. She walked lightly to the door and looked outside through the small window in the door.
The glass was dirty, but you could still see the scene outside the door with difficulty. After a while, two patients came out of the ward diagonally opposite the door. They looked blankly at both sides of the corridor, with expressions of "Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do?"
Immediately afterwards, patients in hospital gowns emerged from the other wards on both sides of the corridor, looking at each other with big question marks above their heads.
Suddenly, the lights in the corridor flickered a few times, making a crackling sound as if there was a problem with the connection.
With a burst of sparks, several of the lights flickered a few times before going out with a "pop".
The remaining lights began to flicker, making the entire corridor eerie and dark, much like a scene from a horror movie before a vengeful ghost arrives.
Upon seeing this scene, the two patients standing diagonally opposite couldn't help but move closer together, their faces tense as they looked around.
Some patients were so frightened by the sudden lights going out that they screamed. The high-decibel screams echoed throughout the corridor. Xia Linyin couldn't see what was happening there, but she could feel the fear and dread of the screamers through the screams.
She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, gripping the chair leg tightly.
Before these mentally ill patients, who had become normal, could have much time to react, maniacal laughter and excited shouts rang out, accompanied by nurses holding giant syringes, their faces twisted with smiles, their emotions agitated and frenzied.
The long needle, as long as a finger, gleamed with a chilling light. Its thin tip sent shivers down one's spine. The syringe, as thick as a thigh, contained an unknown black liquid that swayed eerily within it.
Seeing the group of nurses, grinning menacingly and maliciously, rushing towards them with such large syringes, the patients in the corridor instinctively ran away, and everyone began to run wildly.
A frantic nurse, bewildered patients—a game of survival has begun, a nighttime carnival destined to be filled with the smell of blood.
Xia Linyin had no interest in being injected. Without having to pretend to be a zombie, she felt incredibly refreshed. Her immediate priority was to find Xiao Li.
Xia Linyin leaned against the door, her figure hidden in the darkness. After the group of nurses rushed past like locusts, leaving the corridor empty, she inserted the key into the lock, turned it clockwise, unlocked the door, and turned the doorknob.
Xia Linyin looked around in the corridor and then ran in the opposite direction from the group of nurses she had just met.
As soon as she turned the corner, Xia Linyin saw several doctors with bloodshot eyes, holding scalpels, chasing a group of patients toward her.
The last few patients were caught up by the doctors and fell to the ground. White knives went in and red knives came out. Instantly, the corridor was filled with bloodcurdling screams, which sent chills down one's spine.
The patients in front ran even faster, as if the scythe of death was hanging over their necks; if they ran too slowly, they would be killed.
Everyone was giving it their all, running desperately, wishing they had two extra legs.
Seeing their hands covered in blood, the doctors became even more excited and agitated. They frantically stabbed the patient with their knives, their faces and white coats splattered with bright red blood.
After stabbing the patient to death, they went on to hunt down new prey.
As more and more blood flowed onto the ground and pooled together, a strong stench of blood filled the air.
Seeing the group of doctors and patients running towards her, Xia Linyin immediately turned around and ran back. As a result, several nurses also appeared in the corridor, chasing after patients and running towards her.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Xia Linyin had no choice but to rush into the nearest ward. Her eyes quickly scanned the room before finally settling on the exhaust fan on the ceiling.
Seeing Xia Linyin's actions and the doctors or nurses rushing towards them, the other patients also rushed into the nearest ward, locked the door, and then pushed everything they could to the door to hold it shut.
But some patients weren't so lucky. Some of them weren't fast enough and were caught by the nurses behind them before they could even get into the ward. They were then brutally stabbed in the body with huge syringes, letting out shrill screams.
Some patients had just rushed into the ward and hadn't even had time to close the door when the frantic nurses shoved it open. They scrambled towards the window, only to find, to their despair, that it wouldn't open.
They screamed and pounded on the glass, but before the incredibly hard glass could crack, sharp, cold needles pierced their bodies, injecting an unknown black liquid into them. Then came horrific screams, the pain of which made the other patients who heard the screams weak in the knees.
Fear, despair, and dread enveloped the entire hospital, turning it into a city of death, as if it were a paradise chosen by demons.
