Lin Jingyue first treated the swelling on her own child's head, and then treated the little girl's leg injury.
It's a thin scratch, just a shallow cut that breaks through the skin, causing a slight redness, but it's not a big problem.
However, she still helped apply a layer of iodine, just for disinfection. Thankfully it wasn't alcohol, otherwise the stinging sensation would have been even more intense.
The little girl sat there quietly, blinking as she watched her. She had expected the wound treatment to be painful, but it wasn't. Because the movements were gentle, and the iodine was mild, the wound only felt slightly cool.
"Auntie, I'm sorry, I bumped into my brother and made him fall." She bit her lower lip and apologized very embarrassedly.
She clearly did something wrong, but this auntie still treated her wounds, so she shouldn't blame her, right?
Lin Jingyue put the medicine back in the first-aid kit, smiled, and said, "It's nothing serious. You didn't do it on purpose, right? Xiaoyi, does it still hurt?"
Li Chengyi shook his head, glanced at the slightly embarrassed little girl, and thought for a moment that she was even cuter than his own sister, and she even apologized to him.
So he stepped forward and whispered, "I'm fine."
He's really fine. The bump on his head is just a little swollen, and it doesn't hurt much at all. This kind of pain is not as bad as the pain from his dad's belt.
So none of this matters.
The little girl stopped crying and started laughing. "Mom said that if you do something wrong, you should be brave enough to take responsibility. I apologized, and you forgave me, so are we friends now?"
Children's friendships can develop unexpectedly, but Li Chengyi, being a bit of a loner, might be a little slow to react. He didn't quite understand how they had become friends after just one conversation.
Although he didn't react, the little girl seemed to be a very magnanimous child and didn't find him impolite at all. Instead, she happily shared her things with him without getting angry at all.
"This is a little dress my mom bought me; it has little butterflies on it. Do you like Puppy? I like it too; Puppy is my favorite cartoon character." Is that your toy? I think I see Puppy...
The little girl chattered away, never stopping, while Li Chengyi beside her was so quiet and reserved that he seemed unlike a child her age.
Although he was taciturn, he listened very attentively, but simply did not respond.
Lin Jingyue stood to the side, resting her chin on her hand, watching the two children, a picture of serene tranquility.
If her child were still alive, he would probably have the same vitality, right?
I wonder how that child is doing, whether he was successfully reincarnated, whether he was born into a blessed family, and whether he will be happy in his next life.
There were so many questions hidden deep in her heart, but she couldn't find the answers she was looking for.
"Uncle! Uncle, I'm here!"
The little girl suddenly stopped halfway through her speech. She seemed to have seen someone and waved vigorously in one direction.
"Little Fruit, why are you out here? Weren't you playing inside? Sorry, I just answered a phone call. Were you bored while waiting?"
A tall, slender boy in a white shirt and suit pants walked over, looking at the girl apologetically. His gaze narrowed slightly when it fell on the boy beside her. Whose big white pig was trying to steal his cabbage?
"Who is this?" he asked curiously.
The little girl immediately explained, "This is my new friend, his name is... Hey? What's your name?"
Li Chengyi ignored him, simply playing with the cards in his hand, showing no intention of introducing himself.
The little girl didn't seem to mind and continued explaining, "I accidentally bumped into him just now, and that's why he has such a big bump on his head. But I've already apologized, so please, uncle, don't tell my mom, okay?"
If her mother found out she was bullying others outside, she'd probably confiscate her candy.
Tang Yun looked over and sure enough saw a big bump on the little boy's forehead. Good heavens, how did his little niece manage to bump someone and get such a big bump?
"Little friend, where are your parents?"
Li Chengyi remained silent, lost in his own world, unable to extricate himself.
"Uncle, his mother is over there." Tang Guo pointed to Lin Jingyue next to him.
Tang Yun turned his head and saw a face that was unfamiliar yet felt very familiar. In an instant, he felt his heart pounding wildly.
"Hello! I'm sorry, my niece caused trouble. I apologize on her behalf. It was our fault for hitting your child so badly." He stammered his apology, his previous arrogant expression completely gone.
Lin Jingyue looked at him with amusement, then shook her head. "It's nothing serious, just a little squabble between children. Besides, the little girl apologized."
"No, no, no, this is a head injury. What if it's a concussion? We should go to the hospital for a check-up, just to be on the safe side."
"Really, it's not necessary. It's just superficial wounds, nothing serious."
If the child had hit the back of the head, she would most likely have taken the child to the hospital for a checkup. But since it happened on the forehead, it's really unnecessary.
It might look a bit comical at most, but it's unlikely to cause a concussion.
"Well then, since we're at the restaurant, I'll apologize and treat you to a meal." Tang Yun really didn't know how his little niece had managed to hit someone like that. Luckily, the other person's parents were easygoing, otherwise he wouldn't know what to do.
Lin Jingyue wanted to refuse because the little one wasn't used to being with so many people yet, and she was afraid the child would be stressed.
But the little girl walked right over and took Li Chengyi's hand. "Brother, shall we go eat? I'm hungry, are you hungry?"
As always, there was no response.
However, he just spoke, so he's definitely not mute.
"If you don't say anything, I'll take that as a yes. Come with me!"
The little girl, like a bandit leader, grabbed Li Chengyi's hand and led him outside.
Tang Yun felt a little embarrassed. This child was used to being domineering at home, and he couldn't change this habit when he went out.
Lin Jingyue sighed and went anyway.
The restaurant was inside the mall. They found a place to eat, and it was already crowded. Luckily, there was one table left, and they arrived at just the right time.
Tang Yun handed the menu directly to her, saying, "Order whatever you want. It's on me today."
"Thanks."
Looking at the menu, Lin Jingyue didn't hesitate and ordered three dishes and a soup.
Two adults and two children, that's enough for them.
