Chapter 33 The Seventies' Zhaodi Becomes a Precious Pearl (33)

Lin Jingyue has never worried about helping with homework; her child is very easy to manage. Knowing how precious the opportunity to study is, the child cherishes it all the more. They review early and reflect on their mistakes, showing great self-discipline.

But Xiaomingyue was a little devastated; Xiaoshitou's grades were terrible. He had a typical problem with inattention, and his speech was incoherent.

He's usually a good boy, but he always manages to cause trouble when doing his homework. In short, getting five out of ten questions right is already a miracle.

Unfortunately, the child wasn't her own brother; otherwise, she would have directly disciplined him.

After Aunt Zhang learned about this, she immediately stated her position: "Mingyue, if Xiaoshitou doesn't study hard, just beat him up. Just treat him like your own brother. Don't worry about me. I know you're doing this for his own good."

Teachers used to physically punish students in order to improve their academic performance. Nowadays, teachers, in order to avoid punishment themselves, let children do whatever they want.

She's not some ungrateful old woman; why would she stop someone who's striving for something good?

With the imperial sword given to her by Aunt Zhang, Xiaomingyue became less hesitant in her actions.

But Little Stone didn't think she was that fierce. Instead, he carefully tugged at her sleeve and whispered, "Sister, I'm sorry, I was wrong."

You're quick to admit your mistakes, I wish you could be that fast when you're doing problems.

Xiaomingyue was so angry she was about to cry. Sure enough, tutoring homework is something that drives anyone crazy.

Unable to bear it any longer, Lin Jingyue suppressed a laugh and walked over. She first calmed Xiao Mingyue down, and then said, "Perhaps Xiao Shitou's talent doesn't lie here? Besides, he's still young, hasn't figured things out yet, and doesn't understand the importance of studying. Doing this will only make you angry."

“We can think of an efficient way instead of forcing him to do things he doesn’t like.”

Everyone has their own aspirations, and forcing someone to do something they don't like will only breed resentment. Most children don't like doing homework, but since they are of school age, they should be studying, so they come to school on their own initiative.

Little Stone is still at an age where he loves to play. He doesn't yet understand what reading means to him, so he doesn't pay much attention to doing his homework.

"But I've taught him so many times, and he still can't get it. Waaah, am I such a bad teacher? I think it's so simple." Xiaomingyue wiped away her tears, angry at herself for being so useless.

Lin Jingyue helped wipe away his tears, "No, my baby is very capable. It's just that Xiao Shitou is still young and doesn't understand these things yet. Look, he's about to cry too."

Little Stone pouted, and tears welled up in his eyes instantly. "Sister, I'm sorry, I was wrong."

"Waaah, I don't want to help Xiao Shitou with his homework anymore, he always makes me angry."

"Sister, I need to do my homework, please don't ignore me."

Little Stone panicked and ran over to hug Little Bright Moon, looking reluctant to let her go. Actually, he still didn't know what he had done wrong, but seeing his sister so sad, he instantly empathized with her.

Lin Jingyue looked at the scene and didn't feel sad, just amused. This little stone was starting to act like a spoiled older sister, as if he was afraid that Xiaomingyue wouldn't play with him anymore.

Aunt Zhang, who originally didn't want to get involved, suddenly felt a little embarrassed when she saw Xiaomingyue crying so sadly.

Little boys are often more mischievous than girls, and it's common for them to make girls cry.

She walked over, her face stern, and asked, "Little Stone, why did you make your sister cry again? Did you do something bad?"

Little Stone sobbed, "I didn't do my homework well, and my sister got angry. Waaah, I didn't mean to, I just don't know how to do it."

"But I've taught you so many times, and you always get it wrong. You make me feel like I'm a terrible teacher, and I don't want to teach you anymore. Waaaaah..." Xiaomingyue was heartbroken, feeling like she would never teach again in her life.

"No, sister, you have to teach me. I won't do it again next time."

The two children hugged each other and cried their hearts out.

Lin Jingyue regretted not having a camera; if she had taken a picture of this, it would have been hilarious when she showed it to her two children later.

"Okay, okay, okay, don't cry anymore. You're both good kids, there's nothing you can't overcome. You don't have to do your homework today, how about you go draw instead?"

Kids don't hold grudges overnight; they're arguing one second and making up the next.

She bought a lot of notebooks and pens so that Xiaomingyue wouldn't lack these things and wouldn't have to go out to buy them when she wanted them.

As soon as the two little ones heard that they were going to draw, they immediately stopped crying.

"Mom, I want to draw with the crayons we bought last time." Little Mingyue tugged at her sleeve, tears still glistening on her eyelashes, making a pitiful request.

"Use it, use it whenever you want."

The two children grinned and happily went to get their notebooks and crayons.

Aunt Zhang, who was standing nearby, was also very pleased. Since having a playmate, Xiao Shitou's spirits had improved and he had become much more cheerful.

"Qiu-mei, how much are your crayons? I'll go buy some too."

“It cost one cent, I bought it from the supply and marketing cooperative,” Lin Jingyue replied.

"Okay, I'll buy some next time I go to the supply and marketing cooperative. By the way, the vegetables in the yard are ripe. If you want to eat them, just go pick them yourself. I'm too lazy to pick them myself and bring them to you."

"That's wonderful! Thank you so much, Aunt Zhang!"

The two children were drawing in the yard, and as they drew, Lin Jingyue discovered where Xiao Shitou's talent lay.

If Xiaomingyue were to paint, she would simply paint trees, houses, paths, rivers, and grass—the same style applied nationwide.

But Little Stone is different. His paintings are more imaginative, and the color schemes look harmonious. He basically doesn't need to start with a sketch; a picture of a small town is created in no time.

She wasn't sure if this was a talent, and she didn't dare to casually suggest to Aunt Zhang that the child study art, since studying art requires a lot of money, and such a suggestion would only increase Aunt Zhang's burden.

Let nature take its course. How Xiaoshitou walks the road ahead is her own business. She's just an outsider and can't interfere.

Before we knew it, winter was coming, and everyone was bundled up in warm clothes, afraid that the ever-present cold wind would get in.

Lin Jingyue looked at her old colleagues in the office, each holding a thermos, and felt a little envious.

Those thermos flasks could only be obtained through connections with the hospital, and they didn't cost any money.

"Sister, I can get that bottle, do you want one?" Zhou Yingying leaned closer and asked in a low voice.

"Sure, whatever you want, I'll trade with you."

She scratched her head sheepishly, "It's that hair tie you made last time, could you change it?"

"Why not? I'll give you three!" They were just some hair ties made from scraps of cloth, not worth much.

"make a deal!"
