"I think I need to tell you some bad news." Lin Han heard Xiao Meng say this while waiting outside.
"What bad news?" Lin Han asked.
"Your house was vandalized; it was your dad's competitor who did it," Xiaomeng told the Lin family truthfully.
"What!" Lin Han exclaimed in disbelief upon hearing the news.
"Just last night, your dad's competitor hired some thugs to smash up your house, but no one was hurt." After explaining the situation, Xiaomeng thoughtfully assured her that everyone was alright.
Lin Han finally felt relieved when she heard that her parents were unharmed.
"What is their purpose?" Lin Han asked Xiao Meng quietly from the outer area.
"Because your dad owns a piece of land in a very advantageous location, and that competitor wanted to buy it, but your dad refused and insisted on keeping it for himself."
