Chapter 55 The Arrogant Princess VS The Hostage Prince of the Enemy Country (18)

The two people who were falling rapidly were lucky enough to get stuck in the middle of a crooked tree and landed steadily.

Wei Yucheng let out a muffled groan the moment he landed.

"Wei Yuchen, wake up, don't sleep." Lin Han raised her head and saw that Wei Yuchen's eyes were closed. She quickly called out to him, but he still did not respond.

Lin Han could only carefully step out of his embrace and straighten him up, only then did she see the bloody wounds on his body.

"Ouch, that's awful." Xiao Meng felt pain just looking at those wounds.

"Let us both down. If he doesn't get treatment soon, I'm afraid he'll die here." Lin Han looked at the hideous wounds, his eyes darkening, and then said to Xiao Meng.

Xiao Meng nodded after hearing this and moved the two of them to a safe place.

Lin Han sprinkled the medicine she bought from the mall on Wei Yuchen's wound, bandaged it up, and then sat down to rest.

Time passed by, and darkness fell quickly. The night temperature was exceptionally low, so Lin Han wore only a thin autumn shirt to make riding easier.

At this moment, in the extremely cold night, her thermal underwear was completely ineffective in keeping out the cold, and even the unconscious Wei Yuchen began to shiver from the cold.

Seeing this, Lin Han had no choice but to leave Wei Yuchen and go to the surrounding area to collect some branches to start a fire. Before leaving, she specifically instructed Xiao Meng to keep an eye on Wei Yuchen's situation.

After everything was arranged, Lin Han left. It was only after she left that Wei Yucheng slowly woke up.

When he woke up and saw the pitch-black surroundings, but Lin Han was nowhere to be seen, he began to panic.

"Lin Han, are you nearby? Lin Han!" Wei Yuchen shouted to the surrounding area.

But the surroundings were completely silent, and there was no sign of anyone being there.

After receiving Xiaomeng's reminder, Lin Han quickly headed back, but since it was far away and the road was dark, she tripped and fell several times.

About five minutes later, Lin Han ran back to where Wei Yuchen was. When she saw Wei Yuchen struggling to get up, she quickly shouted, "Don't move!"

Upon hearing Lin Han's voice, Wei Yucheng quickly looked at her and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she could run and jump.

"It's so dark, where did you go? It's very dangerous, you know!" Wei Yuchen's tone was full of concern.

"Oh dear, I just went to pick up some branches, it's too cold," Lin Han said nonchalantly.

Wei Yucheng had nothing more to say. He took the pile of branches from her and prepared to start a fire by rubbing sticks together.

"Let me do it. You're already so badly injured," Lin Han said to Wei Yuchen as she took the branch back.

"Forget it, I'll do it. You probably don't know how." Wei Yuchen didn't give her the branch, but put it aside, then took out a thicker stick, sharpened it, and started to make a fire.

Seeing that he could move without any problems, Lin Han stopped arguing with him, since she herself might not really be able to do it.

He quickly started a fire and called Lin Han over to warm herself by the fire.

The two sat together, the flickering firelight casting their intertwined shadows.

"Why do you think they're targeting me, the princess, for assassination? Shouldn't they be looking at the princes?" Lin Han asked Wei Yuchen, rubbing her hands together.

"Perhaps he's jealous of your beauty, or he sees how much you're favored; either way is possible." Wei Yucheng looked at Lin Han, who was dressed so lightly, and took off his outer robe to drape it over her.

"Maybe they're just jealous of my beauty," Lin Han said in a very narcissistic way.

Then she handed Wei Yuchen's robe back to him. It wasn't that Lin Han wasn't cold, but she saw that Wei Yuchen seemed to need to keep warm more than she did.

"Wear it on, or you'll catch a cold, listen to me." Wei Yuchen didn't accept it, insisting that Lin Han put it on.

Seeing his determination, Lin Han still chose to put it on, but she stood up directly, walked towards Wei Yuchen, leaned against him, and then gave half of the robe to herself and let him put the other half on.

In this way, both of them could cover themselves up without getting too cold. Wei Yucheng was initially a little uncomfortable with the intimate posture between them, but she gradually got used to it.

He even moved closer, placing his hand on her back, in a half-hug position.

In the latter half of the night, Lin Han was so tired that her head kept nodding, and then she leaned against Wei Yuchen's shoulder and fell asleep.

Wei Yucheng turned his head slightly to look at Lin Han's sleeping face, his eyes inadvertently revealing a doting look, which he himself did not even realize.
