But Ai Cao was in so much pain she felt like her soul was leaving her body. She felt her consciousness being pulled out of her body, but she didn't leave this world; instead, she watched it all happen from mid-air.

The bishop looked up and met the gaze of the mugwort in mid-air. Then she lowered her head and continued to pour holy water onto the mugwort's hands.

A pale black mist seeped from the mugwort's hand into the once clear holy water. The water became murky, as if some obscure creature was struggling within it.

But the bishop continued to pour water on the mugwort's hands.

She scooped up a little water, placed it on Ai Cao's wrist, and guided it to flow to her fingertips, then repeated the process.

This behavior was repeated for a long time.

The bishop only straightened up when the water in the basin had turned completely black.

She reached out, as if gently tugging in mid-air. Ai Cao felt her consciousness being pulled downwards as well.

When she opened her eyes again, she was back in her own body.

Ai Cao asked the system solemnly, "Does this world really have gods?"

Her hands were held by the bishop and removed from the basin of dark water.

“Try moving,” the bishop said gently.

Ai Cao clenched her fist. Her fingers radiated life and vitality.

Ai Cao smiled and said, "Thank you."

The bishop smiled and said, "You're welcome."

She raised her hand, pointed at Lillian, and said calmly, "My girl, I want you to stay here."
