Chapter 42 The Yandere Vampire Prince Falls in Love with a Poor Girl (10)

Artemisia left the question to the system and went back to sparring with Lillian and collecting ammunition.

By the time the system figured out the answer to the question, Ai Cao had already stuffed half of the ammunition on the cabinet into her pocket.

Pandora also came to the small room and discussed with them how to kill the male protagonist.

Pandora looked fierce, and her methods were just as fierce. Ai Cao smiled and agreed to the whole process of shooting silver bullets into the heart and then dousing it with holy water.

Lillian was also planning that if the above methods failed to kill the male protagonist, she would drag his body to the church and let it bask in the sun for seven days.

The bishop, who was standing nearby as a smiling sculpture, heard the word "church" and joined the conversation.

The bishop said, "If we were to go through all of the above procedures, that vampire would probably be reduced to ashes." Her smile was gentle. "It's better to leave a little bit of ashes."

Ai Cao readily agreed with a smile.

She had no knowledge of "how to completely kill a vampire," so she wrote down everything she heard. She listened to the three discussing how to kill the male protagonist while simultaneously hearing the system's voice.

The system's tone was somewhat serious: "I'll take that as a serious statement."

“I just went through the materials. Since you want to put ‘them’ into the male protagonist’s stomach, you first need to solve the problem of communication between you and them.”

Ai Cao casually asked, "Then it seems they are souls too."

The system paused for a moment, then continued, "You currently have no way to communicate with them, nor can you inquire about their wishes."

“I can ask Lillian to come,” said Artemisia. “What are they?”

The system paused for a moment before speaking:

"ghost."

"This world is a mess. The god is completely unable to receive the ghosts. So these ghosts are unable to leave and, nourished by this land, have become them."

“Nourished by this land?” Ai Cao asked incredulously. “I’d be overestimating it if I said birds could poop on this land.”

This time, the system remained silent for even longer. It slowly said, "If it weren't for your mental strength, you would have seen it with your own eyes long ago..." After a small complaint, the system continued, "But you'll see it soon."

After that, no matter how much the mugwort bothered the system, the system remained silent.

The discussion among Pandora and the other two was also coming to an end.

Pandora's excited expression gradually cooled. She covered her face and asked, "Shall we set off now?"

Ai Cao agreed, but Lillian stood still, her eyes fixed on the bishop beside her, and asked, "Is there anything else you want to give her?"

The bishop chuckled. "Yes, there is." She looked at Pandora and said, "Wait a moment."

She turned around, rummaged through a cabinet on the wall, and pulled out a neatly rolled-up silver-plated riding whip, which she handed to Pandora.

“Your original riding whip is soaked in blood, so I’ll make you another one.”

Pandora awkwardly reached out and took it, thanking her several times. She stuffed the old riding whip into her pocket and hung the new one on her waist.

“There’s nothing else to do now,” the bishop said with a smile.

"We're leaving now," Lillian said with a smile as she bid farewell to the bishop.

They left the church and got into the carriage with Pandora.

Ai Cao didn't get into the carriage; instead, she sat in the front of the carriage and asked, "Which road should we take?"

It's not entirely her fault for asking this question. Although she had a map of the surrounding area provided by the system, the roads and towns were numerous and complex, forming a dense spiderweb in her mind.

How could she possibly know which road was suitable for a carriage?

Lillian laughed. Pandora looked like she wanted to laugh too, but she held it in: "Let's take a shortcut to a town not far from the castle."

Pandora gave the name of a town that Ai Cao had never heard of, and continued, "No vampires have been to that town this year. If we go there, we should be able to run into our target."

Ai Cao nodded. The map in her mind automatically marked the location of the town.

Seeing that Pandora was about to kick everyone out, Ai Cao and Lillian entered the carriage together. This time, Pandora did not lower the curtain, and the two of them squeezed together at the entrance of the carriage to look at the scenery outside.

What is described as scenery, in Ai Cao's eyes, is nothing but a desolate place where birds don't even poop, and people wandering aimlessly.

Leaving the beautifully decorated and ornate church, the carriage traveled through increasingly desolate areas. The houses along the roadside were no taller than one or two people, and under their dilapidated and sloping roofs lived emaciated people.

The house is not a place to live, and the people there don't seem like living people.

A house collapsed and caught fire. The flames meandered, intertwining and burning even higher. People inside struggled to crawl out, while those outside swarmed together like ants, clinging to the fire and reaching out for its warmth.

With the sound of horses' hooves, the people inside and outside the house, along with the house itself, were left behind by the carriage.

A hint of interest flickered in Lillian's calm eyes.

Ai Cao asked the system, "There are no living people here anymore."

The system remained silent.

Artemisia continued reading.

They passed through that dilapidated refuge, a place that could hardly be called a "town." The road beneath the carriage gradually hardened from the soft mud, eventually becoming a stone-paved path.

There were new people on the road.

A person with a rosy complexion, adorned with magnificent jewels.

These people looked quite energetic, but those behind them were half-dead. They weren't exactly alive, but their physical condition was much better than that of the previous refugees.

Lillian asked softly, "What is Sister Artemisia looking at?"

Ai Cao stared at a round belly that was bound up and said absentmindedly, "Thinking about killing someone."

Lillian tilted her head and followed her gaze. But the carriage did not slow down, and the person that Ai Cao had just been looking at quickly disappeared from their sight.

Lillian asked, "Why kill someone?"

“I wanted to kill someone, but I felt that someone else deserved to die,” Ai Cao said.

She smiled and asked Pandora, "Does this country have a ruler?"

Pandora raised an eyebrow and said, “Yes. The Pope controls the Church, and the King holds the throne. If you have to choose one to kill, I suggest you kill the Pope. Anyway, if one King dies, another will take his place.”

"Hmm..." Ai Cao stroked her chin and asked, "What about the current Pope's people?"

Pandora calmly said, "If you want to kill him, I'll give you two more shots."

Ai Cao understood what she meant and asked again, "Does the bishop have a chance to become pope?"

Even though Pandora was mentally prepared for what she was going to say, she was still taken aback by her words. Lillian, on the other hand, thought about it seriously and said, "It feels like a good idea."

Lillian counted on her fingers: "First kill the Pope and his faction, then put the bishop on the throne..."

Lillian smiled and said, "They'll like it too."
