Chapter 44 The Yandere Vampire Prince Falls in Love with a Poor Girl (12)

Ai Cao used her "Good Pregnancy" skill on the male protagonist.

The protagonist, still trying to use the cloak to revert to his bat form, froze. He looked down at his abdomen in disbelief, losing his composure in front of them for the first time.

He looked up at the sky in a panic: "Sister, I..."

He bent over before he could finish his sentence. The pain from his lower abdomen broke through the inhuman barrier, and a vibrant life took new root in his body, blossoming into a beautiful flower.

The male protagonist collapsed to the ground. His stomach and lower abdomen, which had been bleeding continuously since last night, were now aching.

He had been a vampire for far too long. The immortality of his race had robbed him of the desire and pursuit of life, and had also diminished his fear of death.

He is no longer human.

Fortunately, he still drinks human blood, and his stomach is ready for him to conceive.

Artemisia watched calmly as he lowered his arms.

Bats gathered together, pressing down heavily on the sky.

Pandora put away her riding whip, looking at Artemisia and Lillian with a puzzled expression, then at the male protagonist lying on the ground. She touched the riding whip, then hung it back on her waist.

The male protagonist's lower abdomen swelled up.

Lillian suddenly opened her eyes. The turbulent emotions in her pale blue eyes slowly subsided.

She touched her pendant and said, "Okay."

Artemisia watched the male protagonist silently. That could no longer be called his corpse—he had become a breeding ground for souls. The blood that still existed within his body, his own, had been completely devoured by the souls; then, a collection of souls emerged from the breeding ground.

The girl who had emerged from the seedbed opened her eyes.

Her body and face were covered in blood. The blood on her eyelashes congealed quickly, looking rather gruesome.

The girl calmly reached out and parted the seedbed, pulling her leg out from the pile of dried flesh and blood, and asked, "What time is it now?"

“The year 80 of the Gregorian calendar,” Lillian said. She stepped forward and helped the girl up. “Welcome back.”

The girl smiled slightly, took Lillian's hand, and stood up: "It's been a long time."

The girl glanced at the vampire on the ground for a few seconds, then kicked him aside.

Artemisia asked, "Who are you...?"

The girl raised her smiling eyes. She wiped the scabs from her eyelashes and said, "You've seen me before? But I haven't seen you yet."

“I am Artemisia,” Artemisia said. “I have seen a vampire who looks just like you.”

"She said her name was Helen?" The girl's red eyes filled with laughter. "That's me."

Helen slowly combed her long hair and said, "But I am human, and she is just a vampire."

As if recalling something unpleasant, Helen snorted coldly: "She's lived too long, she should die."

“Then go kill her,” Lillian said. She wiped the blood off Helen’s hair and then tied up her long, loose hair.

Helen smiled, her eyes crinkling. "She's dead." She shook her freshly styled hair, then raised her hand and gently waved it over the part of her hair that was tied up. Strands of hair fell, becoming new nourishment for the earth.

Helen's voice held a hint of cunning: "Otherwise, what identity would I have standing here in?"

"It's just that this guy called me 'little sister'... that's a bit annoying." Helen snorted. She tore off the tattered cloak from the male protagonist and wrapped it around herself.

Lillian thought for a moment and said, "We were..." She told Helen about the women who had been abducted into the castle and the many women who had entered the castle with them.

Helen listened silently to Lillian's story. After Lillian finished speaking, Helen asked, "So, what do you want me to do?"

Lillian said somewhat shyly, "I want you to release those women and set them free."

Helen's ruby-like eyes looked calmly at Lillian. She continued, "If I let them out, will they be free?"

Lillian pursed her lips and remained silent.

Helen said calmly, "Is this all you want?"

Lillian shook her head: "I haven't figured out what to do yet... but I want them to be free."

Ai Cao secretly asked the system, "Didn't you say Helen would die soon?"

The system really wanted to roll its eyes at her: "I was saying the male lead can't die... You should ask the female lead about Helen. How would I know that among the beings the female lead communicates with, there is Helen's human soul?"

Ai Cao opened her skill menu. Her [Good Pregnancy] skill was still lit up, proving that her previous use of it had completely ended.

"The male lead is definitely dead now, right?" Ai Cao confirmed. "Will Helen experience any aftereffects?"

“He’s completely dead,” the system said. “If you still want to bring the bishop a male protagonist who isn’t gray, I suggest you cover him up right now. Go ask about the female protagonist, Helen. She’s alive now, so this isn’t my business.”

Pandora whispered to Artemisia, "Artemisia, is this your power?"

Ai Cao snapped out of her daze and said, "I suppose so. Shall we go and clean up the target's body?"

Pandora nodded. She concealed her surprise and calmly took a small cloth bag from her pocket. They walked to the male protagonist, knelt down, selected a relatively intact part of his body, cut it off, and put it into the cloth bag.

Artemisia wiped her hands on the male protagonist's clothes, stood up and greeted Lillian: "Lillian, we've taken care of the target."

Lillian was still thinking and didn't react immediately. Helen turned to look at the wormwood and said, "Then I'll drive them away from here."

Helen smiled and raised her arm. A stream of air gathered in her palm, and the nearest bats were drawn into her hand, turning into a pale blackish-gray.

More bats were caught in the small tornado.

A small gap appeared in the black sky. Then the gap widened, engulfing all the bats in the sky.

Helen asked, "Is there any holy water?"

Lillian handed her the holy water bullets she carried. Helen tossed the holy water bullets into the vortex of wind, and the color of the dust gradually faded, eventually becoming a translucent white.

In just a few breaths, all the bats in the sky turned white ash.

Helen waved her hand. The white ash that had gathered in her palm scattered and fell away.

Ai Cao raised her hand and caught a piece of white ash. The ash still carried some warmth from the holy water, and it felt fuzzy as it landed in her palm.

Several children peeked out from behind the ruins.

Lillian saw them. She suddenly smiled and said to Helen, "I've been thinking a lot."

Lillian continued, “I want women to be free, I want humanity to be free. I want all souls to be free—I want to restore order to this land, so that all living beings can breathe and prolong their lives.”

Helen smiled, her eyes crinkling.
