Xiao Li walked along, looking around. "Hmm... those white flowers over there look like pear blossoms, and the pink flowers next to them look like peach blossoms." She quickly ran over; the trees were bursting with blossoms, dazzling in the sunlight. Xiao Li could almost picture delicious green pears and soft, juicy peaches—all her favorite fruits.
Searching around the big tree, Xiao Li found several saplings as tall as a person. She took out a small hoe from her basket, dug out the largest saplings, looked around to make sure no one was there, and then put them into her space, planning to plant them when she got home that night.
Xiao Li continued on her way in a good mood. After the peach and pear trees, she dug up a jujube tree. She knew about jujube trees because there was a big jujube tree in her grandmother's yard in the countryside. Every summer when she went to her grandmother's house, she could eat big red jujubes.
Unknowingly, she entered the deep mountains. Apart from a few trees, Xiaoli hadn't found anything else. The main problem was that they were all in bloom at this time of year, and apart from being pretty, Xiaoli didn't recognize any of the trees. She could only wait until autumn when they bore fruit to come back and find more.
A pleasant fragrance wafted over, and Xiao Li followed the scent to a sunny valley. It was a sea of flowers, with many blooming blossoms at the moment—it was truly beautiful.
Xiao rushed over without a care in the world. She used to always envy others traveling to places like lavender fields, rose fields, and tulip fields... Now she finally had her own field of flowers, even if it wasn't hers, it was still incredibly beautiful to have for the time being...
Hahaha... I'm so happy...
Looking at all these flowers and plants, Xiaoli took out her small hoe and dug up two or three of each variety that looked good and threw them into her space.
After playing for a long time, Xiaoli reluctantly picked up her basket and continued on her way.
While passing through a grove of trees, Xiaoli discovered a cluster of mushrooms. Their grayish color looked similar to the shiitake mushrooms she had eaten, so she picked them and filled a small half-basket. She even moved some of the soil from under the mushrooms, along with some smaller mushrooms, into her spatial storage, thinking that they might grow back later.
Suddenly, she heard a rustling sound. Startled, Xiaoli gripped her small hoe tightly and looked around. It was a gray rabbit, darting out of the grass. Xiaoli felt a mixture of joy and nervousness. She had never caught a rabbit before; rabbits were incredibly fast. How was she going to catch it…?
Xiao Li tiptoed slowly towards the rabbit, afraid of startling it away. However, the rabbit was very alert, and as soon as she got close, it darted into the grass and disappeared.
Xiao Li sighed in disappointment. Even if you've transmigrated, you're not all-powerful. Rabbits are hard to catch at all. You might as well find some mushrooms instead.
As she passed a small thicket, another brightly colored pheasant flew out, but it flew too fast, and she couldn't catch it. Undeterred, Xiaoli circled around the area and finally found a large chicken coop with sixteen small, green-shelled wild eggs inside.
Xiao Li was overjoyed. She happily plucked some grass to line the mushroom, picked up twelve eggs and put them inside, then covered them with more grass, leaving four eggs in the nest before continuing on her way.
Having been out for a while, it was time to go home, so Xiaoli headed back the way she came.
From afar, she saw smoke rising from the kitchen, knowing that her mother and father must have returned. Pushing open the courtyard gate, she found her father drawing water from the well to wash his face. Seeing Xiaoli return, he turned to Yunyu's mother in the kitchen and called out, "Her mother, Xiaoli's back! Where have you been? You're still not well, your mother was so worried." The last sentence was addressed to Xiaoli.
Mo Yunxiao came over to help Xiaoli take the basket off her back, and Xiaoli hurriedly and carefully put the basket down: "Dad, I went for a walk in the mountains and picked up more than a dozen wild eggs."
Yun Yu Niang came out of the kitchen, took Xiao Li's hand and looked her up and down: "You child, you should just rest at home. Why did you go up the mountain? The mountain road is not easy to walk. Don't go deep into the mountains. It's very dangerous inside."
“Mother, I’m all better now. I just went for a walk outside, I didn’t go deep into the mountains. Look, I found some wild eggs and mushrooms in the bushes.” Xiao Li pointed to the basket on her back and showed it to Yun Yu’s mother.
Seeing Xiaoli's flushed face, Yunyu Niang finally felt relieved.
"Go wash your hands quickly, it's almost time to eat." Yun Yuniang said as she went into the kitchen.
Xiao Li poured water from the small bucket and washed her hands and face in the wooden basin, feeling much better. Upon entering the main room, she found the table already set with food, and Yun Yu Niang was bringing out the last dish. The family of four sat down and began to eat.
A basket of mixed flour cornbread, a bowl of porridge, a bowl of scrambled eggs, a large bowl of fresh stir-fried bok choy, and a bowl of pickled vegetables—this was already an excellent meal. Eggs weren't something I ate easily on a regular basis.
"Xiao Li, eat more eggs and nourish yourself. You've lost weight these past few days." Yun Yu Niang put a piece of egg on Xiao Li's plate, then put a piece on Mo Qingshan's plate as well as Mo Yunxiao's plate, and placed the remaining few eggs in front of Xiao Li.
Mo Qingshan placed the egg from his bowl into Yun Yuniang's bowl: "I don't like this, but you can eat it too."
Mo Yunxiao, holding the bowl, smiled and winked at Xiao Li.
Xiao Li quickly transferred the eggs from the bowl in front of her to her father's bowl, saying, "Eat them all, eat together..."
A smile appeared on Mo Qingshan's dark face. He reached out and patted Xiaoli's head, put the egg back into Xiaoli's bowl, and said, "My daughter is sensible. Eat more to grow stronger."
Yun Yu Niang also put the egg into Xiao Li's bowl and said, "Xiao Li, eat quickly, stop putting the egg in your bowl. Your father and mother can eat cornbread. You are still young, so eat more to grow taller."
Xiao Li could only eat in silence, a warm feeling washing over her.
After the meal, Xiaoli helped put the bowls in the kitchen, and then Yunyuniang sent her to her room to rest. Xiaoli had no choice but to return to her room, sit on the edge of the bed, and prepare to take an afternoon nap.
That's the downside of ancient times—no cell phones, no electricity—which made Xiaoli, who loves playing on her phone, feel a bit out of place. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, she went to her online space to check on her morning's activities.
Xiao Li closed the door and bolted it. Then she lay down on the bed, silently thinking about going in, and in the blink of an eye, she was in the spatial dimension.
The saplings and flowers she had thrown into the space that morning were still there beside the soil, their leaves looking perfectly intact. Xiao Li walked to the stream, picked up a bucket, filled it with water, and watered the soil. Then she planted the saplings and flowers back in.
Xiao Li watered the plants, surveyed the space, and secretly planned what to do. She planted the saplings next to the wooden house, the flowers by the river, and moved the mushroom soil under the trees, hoping they would multiply. Then she wouldn't have to worry about mushrooms anymore.
After leaving the space, Xiao Li lay on the bed and took a nap. When she woke up, it was already late afternoon. Looking at the sky, it was still early, probably around three o'clock in the afternoon. It was really inconvenient not having a phone or a watch; she didn't even know the time.
