Chapter 28 Broken Youth 18

After Lin Qian left, the living room of the villa seemed to be shrouded in a thick haze, and the air became stagnant. Su Ran and Lin Yue sat blankly on the sofa like two wooden sculptures. Time seemed to stand still at this moment, and they fell into a long and heavy silence.

Fear, like an invisible giant hand, gripped their throats, making it difficult for them to breathe, almost suffocating them. Regret, like an incomparably sharp blade, mercilessly cut into their hearts, bringing them pain that plunged them into an abyss.

Su Ran's face was as pale as a sheet of paper, devoid of any color. His eyes were filled with fear and helplessness, and his body trembled slightly involuntarily. Lin Qian's icy gaze and resolute words kept replaying in his mind, like an unending nightmare. He tried to calm himself, taking a deep breath, attempting to quell the turbulent emotions within him. However, the fear within him surged like a tidal wave, wave after wave, gradually devouring his reason, making it difficult for him to resist.

"What do we do? Lin Qian won't let us off the hook..." Su Ran muttered to himself, his voice filled with despair and fear. "Why did we treat her like that? Now the retribution is coming, what are we going to do?" His eyes were empty and lifeless, as if he had lost his soul.

Lin Yue was completely trapped in a quagmire of terror, unable to extricate herself. Her eyes were empty and lifeless, her lips trembled incessantly, like a withered leaf shivering in the cold wind. Her body shook violently, as if it might fall apart at any moment.

"I'm so scared, Su Ran..." Lin Yue's voice was trembling with sobs, almost unable to form coherent sentences. "Lin Qian's eyes are so terrifying, her words are like a curse echoing in my ears... Are we doomed?" Lin Qian's hateful eyes and those cold, piercing words kept flashing through her mind, each word like a heavy hammer, slamming into her heart, causing her unbearable pain.

"We can't just sit here and wait to die!" Su Ran suddenly seemed to have thought of something, a flicker of panicked hope flashing in his eyes. "We are children of a top-tier wealthy family, we must have a way to solve this problem!" However, his voice revealed a hint of lack of confidence.

"What can we do? What can we possibly do?" Lin Yue cried out in despair.

"There will always be a way..." Su Ran's voice trailed off, he himself didn't know what to do. They had once thought that with their status and background, they could do whatever they wanted, and no one could do anything to them. But now, they realized that their so-called advantages seemed so pale and powerless in the face of Lin Qian's revenge.

“We shouldn’t have treated Lin Qian like that…” Lin Yue sobbed. “What’s the use of saying that now?” Su Ran irritably scratched her hair. “We have to find a way to make amends for our mistakes. Maybe Lin Qian will forgive us because we’ve admitted our wrongdoings…”

"Do you think that's possible?" Lin Yue looked at Su Ran with despair. "Lin Qian hates us so much, how could she possibly let us go so easily?"

Despair and fear filled the living room. Su Ran and Lin Yue were plunged into deep pain and regret. They didn't know what their future would hold, nor how to escape this nightmare.

After leaving the villa, Su Ran and Lin Yue walked home with heavy hearts.

Su Ran sat in the car, filled with remorse. He recalled everything he and Lin Yue had done to Lin Qian, and his heart was filled with guilt and regret.

"Sigh, we really shouldn't have been so impulsive back then. We handled things so poorly," Su Ran muttered to herself, her face full of regret.

He recalled Lin Qian's hateful gaze, and a shiver ran through him. He knew that he and Lin Yue had made a grave mistake, a mistake that was now bringing them immense trouble.

"If I had been more ruthless back then, maybe things wouldn't be like this today," Su Ran thought to himself. But he knew that this idea was extremely wrong. However, he was overwhelmed by fear and regret at the moment and was unable to think rationally.

Lin Yue's mood was equally heavy. After hearing Su Ran's words, she was filled with fear and unease.

"What do we do now? Lin Qian definitely won't let us go." Lin Yue's voice was trembling with tears.

"I don't know either, but we have to find a way to solve this problem," Su Ran said helplessly.

Su Ran returned home to a luxurious living room brightly lit, but the dazzling lights couldn't dispel the oppressive atmosphere. Su Zhenguo sat on the sofa with a gloomy face, his expression so dark it seemed as if water could drip from it, and the surrounding air seemed to become heavy because of his oppressive aura.

Su Ran lowered her head, her steps unsteady, and walked to her father like a puppet that had lost its soul. Her voice trembled as she said, "Dad, I'm back."

Su Zhenguo glanced at him coldly, then snorted, his voice seeming to come from the deepest abyss, chilling to the bone: "You still know how to come back? Tell me, what exactly happened?"

Su Ran took a deep breath, trying to calm his trembling heart, and recounted in detail what had happened at the villa. After he finished speaking, he cautiously observed his father's expression like a frightened rabbit, afraid of offending the authority figure in the family.

Su Zhenguo's face grew increasingly grim as Su Ran recounted her story, his eyes burning with a chilling rage. Suddenly, he slammed his fist on the table, the loud bang echoing through the silent living room like a thunderclap: "You idiot! Bullying people is one thing, but to have them come knocking on our door like this! What good are you?"
