Xu Shaojun glanced at her. "It's too hot, is that not allowed?"
“Okay…” Luo Jiu chuckled and opened the packaging box as she did so.
"Hibiscus pastry? How did you know I like this?"
Luo Jiu took one and put it in her mouth. Mmm... this is the taste.
"Your boyfriend is amazing, is that not good enough?"
Luo Jiu's eyes darted around, and unusually, she didn't argue with him. She reached out and picked up a hibiscus pastry, holding it to his lips.
"Hey, want to try some?"
Xu Shaojun struggled for a moment. Should he eat it or not?
If I were to eat it, the taste would be cloyingly greasy; if I didn't, well, this is the first time Xiao Jiu'er has ever fed herself!
Xu Shaojun closed his eyes and took a small bite with a look of grim determination.
This taste is so sweet it's almost cloying...
Luo Jiu's laughter came from the side, "Is it necessary? You don't like it that much?"
Xu Shaojun shook his head. "Eat more if you like."

Xu Shaojun didn't seem to mind and took her home. He told her to get ready for a big surprise the next day.
The car slowly drove into the Seine Mansion.
Xu Shaojun gestured for Lin Fu to come in and closed the study door.
Xu Shaojun sat upright in the main seat, his expression somewhat solemn. He asked:
"Has that woman been found out yet?"
"We've found out. It's a Japanese woman named Matsushita Hori."
Xu Shaojun pondered for a moment, tapping his fingers rhythmically on the table.
"Japanese?"
His voice was somewhat low, as if he was thinking about something.
"An informant reported that she frequents a Japanese teahouse. And that teahouse happens to be owned by Yoshino Takumura."
Yoshino Takumura was a Japanese businessman who came to Shanghai. Backed by imperialism, he was secretly involved in smuggling and selling arms.
At this point, Lin Fu paused for a moment, then continued:
"Is it possible that this woman bewitched the commander and then passed messages to the Japanese?"
Xu Shaojun took a sip of the red wine on the table and said, "I am more inclined to believe that the Commander was exchanging information with the Japanese through this woman."
"Old foxes are shrewd; how could he so easily trust a woman? This woman must have been sent to spy on him."
Lin Fu suddenly realized, "That explains it all."
Why would the commander spend so much money just to buy a bracelet to please a woman? It was probably also to impress the Japanese devils.
"So, the commander..." Lin Fu still couldn't quite believe it.

Lin Fu seemed to understand something, his expression turned somewhat grave. He responded, then closed the door and left.
Xu Shaojun, holding the unfinished rum on the table, slowly walked to the window.
The sun shines brightly outside the window, and everything is in full bloom, thriving and prosperous.
Hidden behind all of this is a termite that is devouring and destroying it.
Xu Shaojun couldn't quite describe his feelings. There was no concrete evidence that Shi Zhenlin had colluded with the enemy and betrayed the country, but Xu Shaojun had a bad feeling.
The next day was also a sunny day.
Xu Shaojun carefully considered what Luo Jiu said last night.
Love should still have some sense of ritual. Even though he himself doesn't care, his Jiu'er does.
I woke up this morning and finally figured out what kind of surprise I wanted to prepare for her. She'll definitely love it.
Xu Shaojun imagined Luo Jiu's surprised and delighted expression when she saw the gift. A faint smile appeared in his usually indifferent eyes, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up.
"Lin Fu, get ready, we're going now..."

I noticed it yesterday; this pastry shop makes everything fresh to order. The shop is outside, and the kitchen is inside.
"Oh, young man, you're here again. What does your girlfriend want to eat today?" The Shanghai grandmother was as warm and friendly as ever, with a hint of teasing.
"Ah." Xu Shaojun, who always had an icy expression and kept strangers at bay, felt inexplicably embarrassed upon hearing the old lady's words.
This might be the charm of older people; they always have an irresistible warmth when talking about girlfriends.
"Grandma, may I borrow your tools to make some pastries for my girlfriend?" Xu Shaojun paused, then added, "It would be even better if you could give me some pointers."
Forget it, I'll just waste my only few moments of shamelessness in my life on Luo Jiu.
