Luo Jiu was stunned for a moment before she snuggled into a warm embrace.
Gu Muchen held her tightly and gently, as if she were a precious jewel. He spoke words to her that no one had ever said before; she realized what it felt like to be cherished by someone.
While Luo Jiu was still immersed in Gu Muchen's warm embrace, a notification from 007 came to her mind.

Luo Jiu's previous感动 (feeling of being touched) vanished instantly at 007's prompt. She grinned from ear to ear. If she had known Gu Muchen was the type to respond better to gentle persuasion than force, she would have told him she was a woman much earlier.
Taking advantage of the moment when Gu Muchen still felt pity for her, Luo Jiu quickly asked:
"Will my uncle still allow me to review memorials in the future?"
"If Xiao Jiu doesn't want to approve it, then she doesn't," Gu Muchen said. The hot breath sprayed all over Luo Jiu's ears, making them itch.
"Can Xiao Jiu go out of the palace to play with the Imperial Uncle?" Luo Jiu asked again.
"If Xiao Jiu wants to, then she can."
"Can Xiao Jiu invite a Peking Opera troupe to perform at the palace?" Luo Jiu asked, pushing her luck.
"Luo Xiaoran, don't push your luck!" Gu Muchen released Luo Jiu, frowned, and said in a low, harsh voice.
"Hehehe! Little Jiu understands, thank you, Imperial Uncle!" Seeing that her goal had been basically achieved, Luo Jiu ran off with a grin.
A moment later, he ran back and said, "Uncle, please have some water."
This is a classic case of someone who benefits but then complains.
Gu Muchen hadn't figured out how to deal with this rebellious little thing, so he glared at her fiercely and then lowered his head to drink the water in the bowl.
After drinking the water, Gu Muchen had Luo Jiu help him lean against the wall and rest with his eyes half-closed.
"Uncle, when do you think they'll find us?" Luo Jiu was a restless person. Now that she was almost fully recovered, she was feeling utterly bored. Seeing that Gu Muchen was about to fall asleep, she called out to him.
"Soon!" Gu Muchen replied perfunctorily, his pain from the wound unbearable.
"Oh~" Luo Jiu murmured softly. Then she ran to the side and drew circles with a wooden stick.
The cave fell silent. Gu Muchen found it somewhat unusual; how could this restless little thing suddenly be so obedient and well-behaved?
When he opened his eyes, he saw Luo Jiu scribbling on the ground while looking at him with a resentful gaze.
Gu Muchen chuckled softly for a moment, then beckoned to Luo Jiu and said:
"come over."
Luo Jiu hesitated for a moment, then put down the tree trunk she was holding. She slowly walked towards Gu Muchen, like a pampered little cat, her face saying: "Hmph! I'm only coming here to give you face."
Luo Jiu sat down next to Gu Muchen.
Gu Muchen pulled her into his arms. He rested her head on his shoulder and whispered to her:
"Xiao Jiu, take a nap. Trust your uncle. When you wake up, someone will come to save us." He said, patting her shoulder gently.
"But...I'm so hungry...I can't sleep..." Luo Jiu murmured softly.
Gu Muchen: "..." I didn't expect this to happen.
"Shut up! Go to sleep! You can have anything in your dreams." Gu Muchen was a little angry; at a time like this, he was still thinking about eating.
"Oh..." Hearing Gu Muchen's voice from above, Luo Jiu knew that angering him would lead to trouble. Submitting to the male lead's coercion, Luo Jiu leaned against Gu Muchen's broad, strong arm and drifted off to sleep.
