Chapter 48 Investigation Results
With his new hairstyle, Leilei happily ran out to show it off to his friends.
The first people you see are the Ye sisters, who are closest to the Huo family.
The two sisters are two or three years older than Leilei. They are twins and keep each other company. They most want a younger brother or sister in the family, but their parents have no intention of trying. Therefore, they are very fond of Leilei and Yaoyao.
Where did Leilei go?
Seeing Leilei dash off like a whirlwind, Ye Yafei called out to him and asked.
"Hello, Sister Yafei, I'm going to find Niu Niu to play."
Leilei casually touched his hair as he spoke, "Sister Yafei, do I look any different today?"
no the same?
Yu Yafei looked carefully at his face, then at the clothes he was wearing.
He tentatively asked, "You've changed into new clothes?"
She hadn't seen Leilei's clothes before; they must be newly bought.
Yu Yating looked at Leilei curiously, "I know, he got new shoes."
"No, no, let's take another look."
Leilei brought his head close to the two of them, practically beating around the bush.
It was hard for Yu Yafei not to notice the dark, furry ball that suddenly appeared in front of her.
Who cut your hair?
Leilei, having achieved his goal, grinned and pulled his head back. "My mom cut it for me, doesn't it look good?"
The two sisters expressed their true feelings: "It looks good."
They thought it looked good simply because Leilei was good-looking and could pull off any hairstyle.
But I was curious about Lu Mingyue's ability to cut hair. It turns out that Aunt Lu can do everything. She's really amazing.
After showing off to them, Leilei continued running to find Niuniu. Every time he met someone on the way, he would casually ask them a question until he got the answer he wanted, and then he would happily run away.
When Niu Niu saw Lei Lei's new hairstyle and touched his own somewhat bald head, he couldn't help but burst into tears.
They're both mothers, so how come his mother's skills are so bad? She almost shaved him bald, and there was a patch of scalp showing, making him look like a leper.
"Leilei, could you ask your mom to cut my hair next time?"
Niu Niu is genuinely afraid of having her pictures cut by her mother again.
My hair grows very slowly; it will take at least one or two months before I can get it cut again.
"Can."
Because Niu Niu is his good friend, Lei Lei wouldn't have agreed if it were anyone else.
Niu Niu was very touched. To express his gratitude, he took out his newly bought toy and shared it with him. The two brothers played until it was almost dark before parting ways.
Before leaving home, Leilei told his mother that he might be back late.
Lu Mingyue had also told him not to say that his family's food was ready and waiting for him when he ate at someone else's house.
This is considered basic etiquette. This is how Lu Mingyue's parents taught her from a young age.
Therefore, in transmitting these ideas, we unconsciously teach them to children.
Leilei declined Aunt Zheng's invitation to stay for dinner and forgot to leave after saying goodbye to Niuniu.
It hopped and skipped all the way, like a happy little rabbit.
Before I even reached my doorstep, I saw a familiar figure, and I ran over happily, hugging the person's leg.
"Dad, you're back."
Huo Zheng picked him up and carried him on his shoulder, asking, "Where did you go? Why are you only coming back now?"
Leilei said happily, "I'm going to play with Niuniu."
He couldn't wait to ask his dad, "Does my hair look good?"
Under the moonlight, Huo Zheng saw that his son's hair had become shorter, and he looked much more energetic, revealing his fair and tender little face.
"nice!"
The brother and sister both inherited the best features from their parents, and each one is adorable with rosy lips and white teeth.
"My mom cut my hair."
Did your mom cut it?
Huo Zheng was surprised; he hadn't expected Lu Mingyue to be so versatile, even able to cut hair.
"Hey? Dad, look, isn't that Uncle Qin?"
Following the direction his son was pointing, Huo Zheng spotted a figure sitting on the shore.
Qin Lie lowered his head and buried it in his knees, his shoulders trembling slightly. He didn't make a sound, but tears streamed down his cheeks and fell onto the beach.
The investigation results kept replaying in his mind. He couldn't believe that the child he had raised for so long was not his biological child.
He didn't even know where his biological son had gone.
They searched everywhere but found no trace of him, as if he had been completely erased from the world.
He dared not think about it, nor dared he tell his wife.
He could only run to the beach, cry alone, and bear this suffering.
Fortunately, he heard Lu Mingyue's voice; otherwise, he didn't know how long he would have been kept in the dark.
He secretly hoped that Lu Mingyue might know the whereabouts of the child. He wanted to ask her, but he didn't dare to.
He didn't know how to bring up the fact that the child wasn't his biological child.
"Uncle Qin, why are you crying?"
Qin Lie turned around and saw Huo Zheng standing not far away, while Lei Lei, standing behind him, was looking at him with concern.
In front of the child, Qin Lie was too embarrassed to admit that he had cried. He wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes and rubbed his face vigorously.
"Who's crying? I'm not crying, it's just that the wind is too strong and it hurts my eyes."
"Yeah?"
Leilei had some doubts.
He's not a three-year-old child, how could he be fooled by such a clumsy excuse? Besides, the sea is calm, where did the wind come from?
Uncle Qin must be lying. I didn't expect adults to be like this. I'm too embarrassed to admit that I cried.
Leilei thought about how he felt when he did something shameful.
With a mature air, he patted Qin Lie on the shoulder and said, "Uncle Qin, don't be sad, everything will be alright."
Upon hearing this, Qin Lie could no longer contain his grief and hugged Lei Lei tightly, bursting into tears.
Leilei was trapped and unable to escape, so he could only look to his father for help.
"Dad, come save me!"
Receiving his son's distress signal, Huo Zheng pulled him out like a radish.
As fresh air filled his chest, Leilei felt saved and clung tightly to his father's neck, refusing to let go, afraid that Qin Lie would grab him again at any moment.
"Can't you act like a man and cry in front of your child?"
Huo Zheng glanced at Qin Lie with disdain.
Qin Lie blew his nose forcefully and said in a muffled voice, "I don't want to do this either, but I really have no other choice."
Looking at him like this, Huo Zheng figured that the investigation must have yielded results, and it was probably as Lu Mingyue had said: the child wasn't her biological child.
"Would you like to come over to my place for a bit?"
Qin Lie suddenly raised his head, looking at him with shining eyes. He was just wondering how to find an excuse to go to the Huo family.
"Good brother."
"Let me make this clear beforehand, I can't give you any hints. If you want to know something, I can only say it indirectly, not directly. I don't need to teach you that, right?"
The brothers spoke like they were enigmatic, one saying something to the other, while Leilei, held in her father's arms, couldn't understand a word they were saying.
A small head, a big question.
