Chapter 19 Then you can stand guard.

Hu Shih breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that he had accomplished his task very well that day.

As soon as Hu Shih's scene ended, Chi Xiuwen stopped him, saying, "Let's talk."

Hu Shi pointed to his face. "Professor Chi, I haven't removed my makeup yet. Can we talk about it tomorrow?"

Hu Shih knew perfectly well what Chi Xiuwen wanted from him.

Even if he knew, Hu Shi had to pretend he didn't, otherwise he was afraid of getting beaten up.

Chi Xiuwen didn't care about anything else and grabbed Hu Shi by the collar, pulling him into the dressing room.

Chi Xiuwen kicked the door to the dressing room shut, startling Hu Shi into closing his eyes.

"Teacher Chi, I still have to film. If you hit me, it will delay the production schedule."

Chi Xiuwen grabbed Hu Shi by the collar, pinned him against the wall, and asked, "Since you're so afraid of me, why are you trying to steal my man?"

Hu Shih's eyes widened. "What do you mean by 'stealing someone'?"

"Stop pretending."

Chi Hsiu-wen initially couldn't understand why Hu Shih did this.

What other reason could there be for Hu Shih not wanting him to talk to or have contact with Pei Zhi?

Pei Zhi had saved Hu Shi's life, so it's quite normal for Hu Shi to have feelings for her.

But they've tried to poach him, and now they've come to his head. Do they really think he's dead?

"You've misunderstood, Teacher Chi. You've really misunderstood."

Hu Shih really wanted to cry; he was even more wronged than Dou E.

He'd steal my partner? Even if you gave him three hundred lives, he wouldn't dare to even consider that.

Seeing that Hu Shih's demeanor didn't seem to be acting, they finally let go of him.

"Fine, then tell me, what were you doing today? Deliberately trying to make me unhappy?"

"No, how could I dare? I just... I just..."

“I’m just worried that you’ll be photographed by paparazzi, which would have a bad impact on Pei Zhi and the crew.”

Hu Shih's excuse was a bit far-fetched, but he couldn't find any other excuses.

That's fucking awful.

Why should Pei Zhi be the one to suffer the consequences of his actions?

Indeed, those who know too many secrets do not have a good ending.

"You're right, it's really not good to be photographed like that."

Hu Shih breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Chi Xiuwen had been fooled by him.

"Then starting tomorrow, you'll stand guard for us."

"Um?"

Hu Shih did not understand what Chi Xiuwen meant by standing guard.

However, Chi Xiuwen soon told him what had happened.
