On Sunday, Nan Yin arrived early for her choir class, just like on Saturday morning, and then took a piano lesson with Wen Xi in the afternoon.
At first, Mu Wenxi was not very interested, but Nan Yin loved music very much, and Mu Wenxi gradually became interested as he saw how enthusiastic Nan Yin was.
Starting from age four, the two children go to kindergarten together from Monday to Friday, and go to the Children's Palace together on Saturdays and Sundays.
Two years passed just like that. Only the children themselves knew the hardships they had endured. With mutual encouragement, the days weren't too tiring.
One day when Wen Nanyin was six years old, he finally got his chance. The Provincial Children's Palace, in conjunction with the Children's Palaces of various cities, launched a series of arts competitions, including chorus, calligraphy, Latin dance, and piano.
Wen Nanyin planned to participate in all four events. As for Mu Wenxi, she originally didn't plan to participate. She told Xiao A, "If I participate, wouldn't that be bullying a child?"
A: "But you are still a child."
Seeing her little one looking so worried, the shepherd picked her up and placed her on her lap: "What's wrong? Why are you so troubled?"
Mu Wenxi: "Mom, I don't want to participate in the competition."
Mother Shepherd: "Why? Participating in the competition is also a form of training, regardless of whether you win a prize or not. Besides, Little Yin participated in four events."
Mu Wenxi: "Alright then, I'll go."
Nan Yin was overjoyed to learn that Wen Xi was going to participate in the competition with him: "It would be great if you could learn choral singing and Latin dance with me."
Mu Wenxi: "Forget it, I don't have that talent. I'll cheer you on when the time comes."
Mother: "She's so talented at such a young age."
Nan Yin participated in a Latin dance competition for children, the oldest of whom was only 12 years old, but Nan Yin was not afraid at all; he was very confident.
During the Latin dance competition, Mu Wenxi watched Nan Yin's performance from the audience, applauding and taking pictures of him. When she heard that Nan Yin had won first prize, she shouted loudly, even happier than if she had won herself.
Before they knew it, it was time for the calligraphy competition, and the two became rivals. Compared to Mu Wenxi's impetuousness, Nan Yin was much calmer.
When it came to the choir competition, Nan Yin's choir won first prize. Finally, it was time for Mu Wenxi's forte: the piano competition, where she finally surpassed Nan Yin once again.
Neither of them was unhappy about the other winning the award; on the contrary, they were very proud of their friend's excellence.
In the end, Nan Yin won the first prize in the children's categories of Latin dance, calligraphy, and choral singing, while Mu Wenxi won the first prize in the children's category of piano. As for calligraphy, she did her best, but it wasn't her fault that her writing looked like a machine's.
After the two returned backstage, Mu Wenxi looked at Nan Yin with starry eyes and gave him a thumbs up: "You're so amazing!"
Wen Nan smiled shyly: "You're amazing too."
Just as the two were fooling around backstage, a very beautiful woman walked over. Mu Wenxi recognized her at a glance as Wen Nanyin's manager from her previous life. At this time, this woman was still unknown in the entertainment industry.
The agent, Sister Ping, squatted down to their eye level and said, "Kids, your performance was wonderful, very impressive! Do you want to be little stars?"
Mu Wenxi shook his head, while Nan Yin nodded as if it were fate.
Agent A-Ping: "Where are your parents? My sister has something she'd like to talk to them about, is that alright?"
Mu Wenxi: "They'll be here soon."
After the show ended, Mu's mother and Wen's mother rushed backstage, but they were delayed for a while because there were too many people. When they arrived, they saw A-Ping talking to two children.
Mother Shepherd: "What's wrong?"
Agent A-Ping stood up and shook hands with them: "Gentlemen, I am A-Ping, an agent from Stardust Entertainment. I'd like to discuss something with you regarding your two children. Would this afternoon be a convenient time?"
The two mothers exchanged a glance and agreed. The group found a dessert shop and ordered cakes for the two children. Mu Wenxi's eyes lit up when she saw the cakes.
Agent A-Ping shared her thoughts with the two parents. Mu's mother looked at Mu Wenxi and wondered why she didn't want her to enter the entertainment industry. If Xiaoxi was truly a highly intelligent young man, she should understand what she wanted.
Wen's mother's attitude was the opposite of Mu's mother's. She hoped that Nan Yin could get more and better resources. She hoped that her son would become successful, and that entering the entertainment industry was a good way to achieve this.
But she also had some concerns. The entertainment industry is too complicated, and she wasn't sure how far this child could go.
Wen's mother asked Nan Yin, "Nan Yin, do you want to be a little star?"
Nan Yin nodded: "I do, I like performing."
Mu's mother pulled Mu Wenxi, who was eating cake, aside: "Xiao Xi, do you want to be a star?"
Mu Wenxi shook his head: "My brother is already gone. I don't want to be a star, I want to be a scientist!"
The shepherd's mother was somewhat shocked; she had never known that Xiaoxi's dream was to become a scientist: "Why?"
Xiao Xi: "Because scientists can invent many, many things, help many, many people, and make money!"
Shepherd Mom: "Scientists can bring glory to the country and help others, but not make money."
Xiao Xi: "Then I will strive to win glory for my country in the future."
Wen's mother and A-Ping praised the little girl, saying, "She has ambition."
Nan Yin looked at Xiao Xi and her eyes sparkled. It seemed that she dreamed of becoming a scientist. Even if she wasn't a scientist yet, having such a goal was a remarkable thing.
Mu Wenxi thought to herself that the gears of fate had begun to turn, and that Wen Ma would definitely agree. Sure enough, she did not fail to do so.
The two attended the same primary school when they were seven years old, but Wen Nanyin recently joined Sister Ping's entertainment company's children's star-making program. On weekends, Stardust Company arranged all sorts of art classes for him, so the two could only see each other at school.
Wen Nanyin is growing up in her own way, and so is Mu Wenxi. While other children are starting to learn pinyin, she has already begun reading other extracurricular books.
Wen Nanyin curiously picked up Mu Wenxi's extracurricular book, but he couldn't recognize all the words on it. One day, he saw Mu Wenxi reading a book with words he didn't recognize, and he slowly began to realize his friend's intelligence and uniqueness.
Compared to his surprise, Mu Wenxi's teacher felt that Mu Wenxi was special and precious. So after communicating with Mu's mother, the teacher was aware of Mu Wenxi's situation and treated Mu Wenxi as an ordinary child, without giving her any special treatment because of her difference.
Mu Wenxi and Wen Nanyin were deskmates for three years. During those three years, Wen Nanyin learned various talents and participated in various competitions.
Whenever Mu Wenxi had free time, she would go with her mother to cheer for Nan Yin in every competition. Most of the time, Nan Yin would get a ranking, but there would be times when they were disappointed.
