Lin Zhenzhen gently knocked on the door frame: "Director Luo, you wanted to see me?"
"Come in." Luo Meng raised her eyelids and glanced at her casually.

Luo Meng threw a stack of documents in front of her: "Did you review these original vouchers from the purchasing department?"
Lin Zhenzhen frowned slightly. She bent down to pick up the documents and quickly flipped through a few pages: "I only reviewed the last half month's documents. The first half was handled by the previous intern, so I don't know about them."
"Don't know?" Luo Meng's voice suddenly became sharp.
"What a convenient excuse for not knowing! The most important thing in finance is to be meticulous and responsible. If everyone were like you, our department wouldn't need to do any work; all we'd do is pass the buck, right?"
Lin Zhenzhen lowered her brows, tightened her lips, and stared intently at Luo Meng with her dark eyes.
"Why are you looking at me like that? You did something wrong, and I said a few words to you, and you're not happy about it?"
Luo Meng stood up, crossed her arms, and the sharp, sarcastic smile on her lips reminded Lin Zhenzhen of her middle school math teacher who liked to pull girls' braids.
It's all the same; they're just making trouble out of nothing.
Lin Zhenzhen didn't speak. She wasn't a cowardly or timid person. On the contrary, she was happy to add a little excitement to her life.
But now.
Lin Zhenzhen raised her eyes and said calmly, "Then how should I remedy this, Director Luo?"
Luo Meng pursed her lips, her oval-framed glasses gleaming coldly.
"You, go and review all the expense reports for the entire group this month. I want to see a brand new report when I come to work tomorrow."
Luo Meng tapped her fingers lightly on the table, her tone laced with a cryptic smile: "If you make another mistake this time, I'll have to end your internship early."
The entire group's expense reimbursement vouchers?
Previously, this work was handled by two accounting teams in the finance department, but now it's like Lin Zhenzhen is taking on the workload of 20 people all by herself.
Lin Zhenzhen smiled. She couldn't understand why Luo Meng would go to such lengths to deliberately make things difficult for her, a newcomer. She didn't seem like she had nothing better to do.
"What are you laughing at? Do you have any objections to my work arrangements?"

For the next few hours, Lin Zhenzhen was doing the verification work.
She stared at the numbers for too long, and her temples started throbbing; towards the end, she even felt a little nauseous.
"Xiao Zhen, I feel like your complexion is getting worse and worse. Maybe I should go and plead with Director Luo on your behalf."
"No, please." Lin Zhenzhen swallowed a mouthful of warm water. "How can I go back on my promise?"
She ruffled Xiaoling's hair and said with a smile, "Aren't you leaving yet? Didn't you say you had a date today?"
"Why don't I stay and keep you company? It'll be faster if there's another person."
"No, go now. Your presence here will only make me less productive."
Xiaoling finally couldn't persuade her otherwise and left, turning back every three steps.
It was past seven o'clock, and Lin Zhenzhen was the only one left on the entire floor. The bright white ceiling light felt like a giant, tilted net, making it hard for her to breathe.
Lin Zhenzhen stood up and pushed the window next to her up. The night breeze rushed in, dispersing the somewhat stuffy air.
She stared blankly for a moment, then took a deep breath. She crossed her legs and tapped the "Entertainment" box on her phone screen.
After a little hesitation, I decided to choose my latest favorite.
With no one around, Lin Zhenzhen simply unplugged her headphones. The intense game sound effects echoed through the empty room.

Lin Zhenzhen slammed her phone heavily on the table, wincing. She decided to go to the cafeteria to get some free late-night snacks to cheer herself up.
As it turns out, the saying "unlucky at gambling, lucky in love" is quite true.
