Chapter 419 The Final Chapter 68

"The first step to purification is to sever attachments."

The man looked at Lin Zhenzhen with interest: "Actually, I don't need to ask, I already know what your obsession is."

He leaned closer, his warm breath brushing against Lin Zhenzhen's neck, and said as if in a gentle voice, "Do you want me to go and take care of him for you now?"

Lin Zhenzhen paused for a moment, then raised her head, her eyes clear: "I have no obsession."

"No?"

The man didn't seem surprised by her answer. He smiled mockingly, but didn't delve into it. Instead, he continued talking along with Lin Zhenzhen's words.

"If you have no obsessions, then just create them."

"Humans have a will to live. When you are on the verge of death, your desire to live will turn into a powerful obsession."

"It's just that the limit between life and death is a bit hard to grasp. If you're too little, you won't reach the extreme fear; if you're too much, I'm afraid you won't be able to hold on."

The man stopped, frowning as if troubled by the problem.

Lin Zhenzhen's heart felt like a lone boat adrift on the sea, constantly tossed about, almost as if it would be swallowed by the towering waves at any moment.

“I never said that I wanted to undergo so-called purification.”

“Yes, because I haven’t asked you yet.” The man tilted his head, looking directly into Lin Zhenzhen’s eyes, his smile widening.

He flipped his wrist, and a snow-white dagger gleaming with a cold light appeared in his previously empty palm.

"But it's okay, because I wasn't planning on asking you anyway."

With a flick of the wrist, the knife fell; everything happened in the blink of an eye.

Before Lin Zhenzhen could even feel the pain, the sharp blade had already pierced through her clothes and skin, and plunged straight into her internal organs.

The man released his grip, smiled, and took a step back.

"Hmm, feels good, the angle is just right." The man looked very satisfied. "What a beautiful piece of work!"

"The most spectacular moment is when the sword is drawn; the pressure disappears, and blood immediately spurts out."

"Unfortunately, such a scene is too short-lived. In just a few minutes, you will die from excessive blood loss."

The man shook his head with some regret, then raised his chin and looked at Lin Zhenzhen: "Alright, now the choice is in front of you. Tell me, do you want to live?"

"If you want, you can start begging me now."

Lin Zhenzhen raised her chin, a cold light gathering deep in her eyes.

"You're dreaming."

"Huh?" The man moved closer and sighed in surprise after a moment.

"You really have no will to live? You're making me more and more curious."

Lin Zhenzhen was taken aback, wondering where the other person's claim of lacking the will to survive came from.

"It seems that kid broke your heart. So you must have been blind to make such a foolish choice."

As the man was speaking, his facial features suddenly contorted for a moment.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, and veins bulged on his forehead.

"Now? Our free time hasn't even started yet, why is the disciplinary department suddenly getting involved?"

"Routine screening?"

The man suddenly paused, his fierce gaze slowly sweeping across Lin Zhenzhen's face. "If I find out that you're the one pulling the strings behind the scenes, I will destroy you without any mercy."

Lin Zhenzhen lowered her head slightly, suddenly remembering that she had once threatened a system in the same way.

It happened not long ago, but it feels like a lifetime ago.

Lin Zhenzhen was lost in thought for a moment, and when she looked up again, the man had already disappeared.

Instead, four or five menacing-looking men in black appeared.

"Sixth Brother! What's wrong with you? I told you to play around, why did you have to use a knife!"

"Brother, I stabbed her because this woman wouldn't let go of me!"

Lin Zhenzhen slowly lowered her head and realized that she had stood up from the chair without even realizing it.

She clutched her abdomen tightly with her right hand, but she couldn't stop the blood from seeping out from between her fingers.

The red liquid, like an unbreakable thread, flowed across the gleaming floor, turning into a lake filled with despair.

A dagger was carelessly tossed aside next to the bloodstains, almost everything except the hilt stained red, its original color no longer discernible.

Lin Zhenzhen wanted to find out exactly what was going on.

But as soon as she opened her mouth, her body, which had been barely holding on, seemed to lose all strength and fell straight forward.

"Brother, she's not dead, is she?!"

"Nonsense, you stabbed her so deep, did she even have a chance of surviving?"

"So what should we do now? The police haven't arrived yet!"

police……

Lin Zhenzhen struggled to open her eyes, but all she could see was a jumble of moving figures, blurred and stuck together.

"It's alright. He won't go back on his word since he said he would come. You guys carry her to that room over there and hide her there."

"The rest of you, clean this place up."

One of them spoke up: "Brother, why don't we just take him out? Why go through all this trouble?"

"Just take it out?"

The man addressed as "Brother" sneered and gritted his teeth as he said, "How can I face the brothers who were arrested because of him if this is the case?"

"I want him to suffer a fate worse than death."

****

In a hazy, dazed state, Lin Zhenzhen thought she heard sounds of fighting.

My abdomen felt like it was being scorched by a raging fire, and my body felt like it was being shattered into countless small pieces.

One side of her mind was clear, while the other side was endlessly muddled.

Thoughts jump around repeatedly, and consciousness rises and falls.

Even so.

The desire to see Gong Yao was as clear and intense as the blazing sun, filling her mind to the brim.
