The surrounding condemnations grew louder and louder, but Lin Zhenzhen showed no sign of panic. When her delicate face was expressionless, it appeared cold and world-weary, as if she didn't care what others thought of her.
Her figure was so frail, yet she stood against everyone, at odds with the entire world.
Tan Bei stared blankly at her retreating figure, wondering how this person would react. Would she cry and run to her father, or seek his help, since he had been a witness yesterday afternoon?
Suddenly, Lin Zhenzhen's shoulders began to shake violently, and her waist-length light brown hair swayed slightly in an arc.
Tan Bei suddenly panicked. Was he being bullied and crying?
"Hahahahahaha." A burst of arrogant laughter erupted, and Lin Zhenzhen laughed so hard she could hardly breathe, almost bending over with laughter.
She exaggeratedly propped herself up on her back and said, "Okay, I think telling the school isn't enough. Since the incident is so serious, I should call the police."
"What crime is sexual harassment? What crime is plotting to frame someone?" A plastic nameplate appeared in Lin Zhenzhen's palm, which read: Donghua Computer Vocational School, Zhang Feng.
“On my way home from school yesterday, a few thugs stopped me and harassed me. Although they managed to escape, I still managed to keep something on my hands.”
"Thanks to you, you provided me with evidence of their sexual harassment. Otherwise, even if I had reported it to the police, it would have been difficult to clarify the situation."
Zhou Ke's expression clearly showed a hint of panic upon hearing this. She avoided Lin Zhenzhen's questioning and pretended to be ignorant, saying, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"If I remember correctly, that alley is lined with residential buildings on both sides, and there's a hotel on the third floor. There's such an obvious landmark in the photo; if we just follow that direction, it shouldn't be difficult to find out which room the photo was taken in, right?"
"Then we can just check the hotel's check-in records and find out who took the photos, right?"
Lin Zhenzhen pressed closer, her nose almost touching Zhou Ke's chin. "Of course, this doesn't have to be so complicated. As long as we find those thugs, the mastermind behind them will be clear, right?"
Faced with Ning Zhen's calm and rational analysis, Zhou Ke was overwhelmed by the immense psychological pressure. She hadn't expected Ning Zhen to see through everything so clearly.
That shouldn't be the case.
She used to be as stupid as a pig, and he could easily make her obey him with just a few lies.
She's clearly just a pretty face, a useless bum, all she does is throw a tantrum when things get tough.
When did you become so shrewd?
And such a terrifying and powerful aura.
“Zhenzhen, there must be some misunderstanding here. Someone is definitely trying to sow discord between us.”
"I don't want to hear your lame excuses," Lin Zhenzhen waved her hand dismissively. "But it's still the same question: how well do we know each other? Is our relationship worth stirring up trouble for?"
Zhou Ke wanted to explain, but Lin Zhenzhen stopped her with a gesture.
"Save your other words for the police. Don't worry, I won't use my dad to intimidate you this time. I'll let you go, but the law won't tolerate you."
After saying that, she pulled out a chair, sat down, put her hands under her head, and fell fast asleep.
The group was left staring at each other, bewildered.
The amount of information that just happened was too much for them to process; they need to sort it out properly.
Tan Bei returned to his seat, looking at the slumped figure with a dazzling, starlight-like light in his eyes.
It's like a dragon that has been sleeping for thousands of years in boredom, and suddenly sees a shining gem. Its most primal desires are awakened, and it is eager to explore it.
"I'm sorry, Ning Zhen must be very disappointed in me."
Sitting in the front row, Lan Jiaocai turned her head and whispered. Her eyes were bloodshot and her face was pale, as if she had just had a good cry.
"You shouldn't have apologized to me." Tan Bei looked away, reverting to his usual demeanor. "If you have your reasons, you should explain them to her properly."
Lin Zhenzhen slept on her stomach all morning, only slowly waking up from her desk when the bell rang to signal the end of get out of class.
The system only provides two character attributes for Ning Zhen: willful and sycophantic, making her a complete foolish beauty.
Therefore, she doesn't plan to spend much time studying; instead, she plans to use her spare time to improve her combat skills.
On the way to the cafeteria, Lan Jiaocai blocked her path.
Sacred Heart's dining hall is divided into two. Ning Zhen is going to the first dining hall, which is a three-story independent building. It is a buffet, and a meal costs about 100 euros.
Lan Jiaocai was going to the second canteen, which was located on the basement floor. It served set meals and was much more affordable. It was also a gathering place for students receiving financial aid.
Logically speaking, the two of them were going in different directions.
"What's wrong? Is something the matter?"
Lan Jiaocai's face was flushed, her fingers twisting the hem of her clothes tightly, her expression conflicted.
"Yes, I'm sorry I didn't stand up for you because they threatened me with my father's job. My father is the only breadwinner in our family."
Her eyes were glistening with tears, filled with regret. "You only got involved because you were standing up for me."
Lin Zhenzhen waved her hand dismissively and said, "It's nothing, don't worry about it."
"No, I can't face you like this. Please give me a chance to make it up to you!"
Lin Zhenzhen stopped in her tracks. Suddenly remembering her main quest, she asked, "We're friends now, right?"
“Of course!” Lan Jiaocai replied with delight.
"I'm going to the horse farm this weekend, why don't you come along?"
Lan Jiaocai hesitated for a moment: "But I can't ride a horse."
Unlike other students at Sacred Heart University who received aristocratic education from a young age and were proficient in horseback riding and archery, she only had the opportunity to engage in these expensive hobbies in college and clubs.
But it was limited to just knowing about her, because very few non-free students were willing to have much contact with her.
A university is like a small society where people of the same kind stick together for warmth, especially in a place like Sacred Heart where there are clear class distinctions.
Lin Zhenzhen thought, "It's better if you don't know anything at all, so that the male lead and the second male lead can play their roles."
"It's alright, it's enough that you came. After all, you're my only friend in Sacred Heart."
Lin Zhenzhen's head was slightly lowered, and she looked exceptionally docile without displaying that arrogant expression. Lan Jiaocai even noticed a faint trace of sadness in her eyes.
She couldn't help but think that the mischievous devil that the outside world perceived was just a lonely, righteous child.
A sense of mission, as if she had been chosen, welled up inside her, and she grabbed Lin Zhenzhen's hand: "I'm so happy to be your friend."
[OOC warning! Contribution points deduction warning! Ning Zhen never shows weakness, and besides, she has no friends.]
"No!" Lin Zhenzhen suddenly shook her off, turned around and said, "I, Ning Zhen, don't need friends, and I don't need anyone to pity me."
What a stubborn little girl! Lan Jiaocai became even more determined to stay by Ning Zhen's side.
She shouted at the retreating figure, "Don't worry, I will definitely come to be with you!"
