Chapter 104 Interstellar Glory (Part Six)

Um... there are so many reporters here today, not to report on Admiral Karl's love life!

What about the military academy students?

Finally, someone noticed the serious problem and, somewhat embarrassed, went to look for the military academy students. When they saw them all standing quietly by the warship's hatch, despite being ignored and waiting for a long time, not one of them showed any displeasure.

This calm and composed demeanor is all the more admirable, drawing the attention of more reporters to these upright teenagers who stand out among their peers. Their faces still bear the traces of childhood innocence, yet they seem to have weathered storms and battles, revealing a determination distinct from their youthful naiveté.

They stood silently, seemingly unmoved by anything.

A remarkably talented and admirable young man.

Looking at them, no one would doubt that, had they not perished along the way, they would have had a place among the most outstanding soldiers in the military decades later.

"Excuse me, may we interview them?" several reporters asked Effie eagerly.

"There's nothing wrong with that," Effie nodded, calling the students forward. Seeing them quickly stand around her sister, a faint smile appeared in her eyes.

"Miss Alice seems to be very respected." All the students surrounded Shen Wangshu. She didn't speak, and none of these teenagers were in a hurry to show off their achievements in front of the reporters.

They were all waiting for her to speak, their eyes filled with unwavering trust. These reporters were all astute; they immediately recognized Shen Wangshu's extraordinary status among them. Soldiers were a group of proud and independent individuals; if one couldn't win their hearts with strength, even those from prestigious families wouldn't be recognized to this extent.

.

Therefore, the reporters were even more curious about this blonde girl who seemed to be just an innocent and naive young lady.

“We are comrades,” Shen Wangshu said in a clear voice. “Not out of respect, but out of a sense of shared identity that allows us to fight side by side.”

Her words brought smiles to everyone's eyes.

At this moment, beneath the calm, heavy warship that resembled a steel behemoth, the blonde girl seemed to shine even brighter in the light.

Her answer was also admirable.

“That’s right, we’re companions,” Lori exclaimed, her eyes shining.

“Alice saved us, and we are all very grateful to her.” Jasmine hid in the shadows, feeling pained as she thought of the blonde girl who had been surrounded by reporters and the center of everyone’s attention.

She was thrilled when her senior told her there would be an interview in the capital city. After all, it would be a glorious thing to be known by everyone. She worked hard to make her black hair smoother, her lips more vibrant, and her smile more beautiful, hoping everyone would see the most beautiful version of her.

But reality gave her a harsh slap in the face.

Her brilliance was still overshadowed by Alice.

Wherever Alice exists, she is still reduced to her original form, becoming an unnoticed shadow.

She was radiant, but she...

What's the difference between them? One is a young lady from a prestigious family, while the other is an orphan with no one to rely on.

Because of this, she can only be ignored.

Jasmine couldn't understand it.

All she knew was that from childhood, Alice always managed to steal other people's attention and make them stop liking her.

She envied Alice and considered her a friend as well, but this jealousy always gave rise to a strange thought in her heart.

When Alice falls from the clouds, she can then stand before everyone. Even for that fleeting moment of light, she's willing to do things against her conscience. She doesn't want Alice to die—that would be too wicked—she only wants Alice to share a little of that glory with her. Just like now, when she speaks, all eyes are on her face, which makes her very happy.

“That’s right, Miss Alice did save everyone,” the reporters said in unison.

Shen Wangshu listened calmly and without showing any emotion.

She just smiled.

She was no longer a hot-blooded young girl who would disregard others' feelings for a little bit of glory.

Jasmine is always like this; she seems to be speaking up for Alice, but she pushes her to the opposite side. Yet her eyes are so innocent. Who would believe that she has bad intentions?

"You're wrong." She looked at Jasmine, whose face was filled with immense gratitude, with sincere eyes, her gentle voice clear and pure, as if she truly believed it from the bottom of her heart. She said softly, "It wasn't me who saved everyone, but everyone who saved me."

She said softly, "One person can never represent the whole. I did deserve some credit," she wasn't stupid, how could she push away the glory? Shen Wangshu snorted inwardly before continuing, "But for me, companions are the most important."

In the skirmishes, we put in the same amount of effort.

“But the people on our spaceship…” Jasmine murmured, “abandoned you.” She looked extremely guilty, on the verge of tears, as if she were repenting.

The students who had also boarded the spaceship felt even more uncomfortable.

Compared to their ten companions who remained on the warship, their abandonment of the warship was indeed reprehensible, no matter how you look at it. However, Jasmine spoke out about this in front of the entire Federation public. While it seemed righteous and straightforward enough to admit their mistake, it was a real blow to their future and reputation.

They became cowards and runaways in front of the Federation. How can they ever hold their heads high again? The ten comrades who stayed on the warship shone brightly, and now they're being blamed? How can anyone accept this?
