"Zombies!" Atu finally managed to gasp for air and cried out in surprise.
He looked at Ning's father with disbelief, who seemed quite happy living with zombies.
If A-Tu's initial impression of Ning's father was merely that of a wretched old man, he now felt that the small, thin father before him was quite courageous. His image had become imposing, filled with an aura of reverence.
However, this was not the time to show respect to Ning's father. He took a step back, and a solid earthen wall began to form beneath his feet. Shen Wangshu looked helplessly at A Xuan, who insisted on showing off his treasures and trying to make his presence known. He grabbed A Xuan's hand and told him not to go crazy. Then he whispered to Nan Lan, "You see, A Xuan is actually very good to us."
"Is it because of him that you're not leaving?" Nan Lan paused and suddenly asked.
"This child became like this because he saved us," Ning's mother said gently.
"We can't leave him alone, can we?" Ning's father chuckled softly.
The elderly couple looked at each other and smiled.
Besides... his daughter loves him...
Shen Wang opened his mouth, unsure of what to say.
She was moved by Ning's parents' refusal to give up on Ah Xuan, but reason told her that it would be safest for Ning's parents to be protected by Nan Lan.
Nan Lan is a well-known powerhouse in the later stages of the apocalypse.
Those under her protection will no longer face any danger or displacement, and Ning's father and mother can live a good life.
"What do you think?" Nan Lan didn't say much, her gaze falling on Shen Wangshu.
She keenly sensed that Ning Rou, who was always so gentle, seemed to have become a little stronger, though her personality was still soft. She must have become like this in the apocalypse to survive. However, seeing Shen Wangshu's troubled expression, she didn't press her any further. She lowered her eyes and thought for a moment before saying, "I'm not leaving." She flicked off the bloodstains that had somehow gotten on her sleeve and said without looking up, "The villa is very sturdy, just like a safe house."
"Boss!" Atu cried out in despair.
There are still plenty of supplies inside the safe house.
And what kind of idea is it to live with a zombie?
“Consider it supplies for passersby.” Nan Lan was surprisingly nonchalant about giving up the supplies. She seemed to have a lot of authority over A Tu and A Guang, and neither of them objected to her statement. She gave A Xuan a cold look, noticing him intently licking Chen Wangshu's fingers, her face showing some displeasure, but she still said slowly, “This place is spacious and perfect as our base. As for supplies…” she said casually, “We’ll go to the city and get some back later.”
Shen Wangshu looked at A-Tu and A-Guang in silence.
If it were only Nan Lan, she wouldn't hesitate to tell her about her own space.
However, although A-Tu and A-Guang are very close to Nan Lan, they are just unfamiliar strangers to her.
She thanked them for accompanying Nan Lan to rescue her, but she wouldn't tell them this most important secret.
Perhaps in the future, when she knows each other's true character, she will be able to truly trust them.
Ning's mother didn't think much of it. She knew there was a space at home, so she thought it was good that Nan Lan stayed in the villa and didn't take any risks. She smiled and said, "There's enough food at home. You've only just come back. Don't go out. People are being eaten outside." Fear was evident in her eyes; she was clearly terrified by the apocalypse.
Nan Lan did not refute her. After seeing Ning's mother into the villa, she turned around and began to unload various supplies from the car.
The SUV was quite spacious and unremarkable from the outside, but it was packed with things inside. Shen Wangshu watched as Nan Lan unloaded large boxes of instant noodles, biscuits, several bottles of bottled water, and clothes from the vehicle, and then went to help. However, Ning Rou was too frail; despite her best efforts, she could only lift half a box of instant noodles. Nan Lan glanced at her, shook her head, and took the box from her.
“Young lady from a wealthy family.” She nodded to Shen Wangshu.
Ah Xuan, who was following closely behind Shen Wangshu, suddenly roared loudly.
"Who is this?" Atu was so close to the zombie that it would take a lot of courage not to slash at it with his knife. He asked in a low voice.
"My husband." Shen Wangshu heard this and turned her head to smile.
If you dare to date a zombie, what do you need?
It has to be a thumbs up.
A-Tu gave Shen Wangshu a look of admiration. However, he seemed to sense that A-Xuan was not someone to be trifled with, so he didn't provoke him. He muttered something to himself, picked up a heavy repair kit, and walked into the villa.
Nan Lan, carrying several boxes, glanced at A Guang, who was carrying a bucket of water back and sitting in the car silently wiping his sweat and panting, and said impatiently, "There's also a rich young master." Without looking at A Guang, whose face was flushed, she casually carried two buckets of water inside. Before leaving, she gave A Xuan a disdainful look.
Sensing the provocation, the zombie immediately lowered its body and made a pouncing motion.
Shen Wangshu casually stuffed a sack of flour into the zombie's hand.
"Drag it in." She pointed to the villa with a smile.
Ah Xuan turned around and yelled at her in dissatisfaction, nuzzling against her as if he didn't want to leave her. But seeing Shen Wangshu's smiling expression, he dejectedly dragged the flour sack into the door.
Nan Lan watched their interaction quietly, and her eyes softened when she saw that Ah Xuan was very obedient.
Ah Guang seemed to sense that Nan Lan and Shen Wangshu had something to say. Seeing Ah Xuan enter the villa, he hesitated for a moment before following him. Seeing that only she and Shen Wangshu were left, Nan Lan threw the things she was carrying on the ground, leaned against the SUV, and said calmly, "Are you crazy? A zombie, and you really want to be with him forever?!"
