Ah Xuan patted her back and touched her twice before pulling her into his arms.
They entangled and embraced under the covers, just like before.
Shen Wangshu couldn't help but smile gently, resting her head on Ah Xuan's arm and falling into a deep sleep.
She slept soundly and sweetly, having a wonderful night's sleep in which someone was always taking care of her carefully. She felt it was indeed a dream, but just as she was about to wake up, she stirred slightly and let out a soft groan, and felt a gentle pat on her back.
She snapped back to reality, realizing she'd been mistaken. She paused, then tentatively moved her body. This time, she felt someone pat her back gently and carefully, as if to soothe her. Opening her eyes, she saw the zombie's wide-open, greyish-white eyes.
He was completely focused, his eyes fixed on Shen Wangshu.
Seeing that Shen Wangshu had opened her eyes, he tilted his head and leaned closer.
Shen Wangshu did not move, letting him approach.
Cold lips pressed against Shen Wangshu's warm forehead.
The zombie made gurgling sounds, as if it were greeting Shen Wangshu.
"Good morning, Ah Xuan." Shen Wangshu didn't know where Ah Xuan had learned this gesture; perhaps it was from his memories while he was alive, or perhaps it was from the kisses and hugs Shen Wangshu had given him these past few days. But whatever it was, she already felt very content. She subconsciously touched Ah Xuan's bare chest, and seeing him looking at her with an innocent expression, she suddenly covered her mouth and sighed helplessly, "I feel like I'm a weird auntie now."
Ah Xuan is so innocent and naive, he doesn't understand anything, and she feels like she's corrupted him.
But it's good that he's been led astray. Although the pure Ah Xuan is good, Shen Wangshu prefers the mischievous one.
She smiled happily, got up and changed herself into a neat set of clothes, and then dressed Ah Xuan in a clean set of clothes.
This tall, handsome man with short, prickly black hair stood beside her like a mountain.
She pulled Ah Xuan out of the room and smelled a hot, fragrant aroma. She was already quite used to this smell. She went over and sat down next to Ning's father, and saw a very sumptuous meal on the table: a pot of beef broth with canned tomatoes inside—it looked a bit odd in color, but it tasted delicious. On the table were snow-white steamed buns and thinly sliced ham, seemingly fried in oil, sprinkled with dried cilantro, which made it look much more appealing.
Ning's father was already slurping his food down without even lifting his head.
He ate most of the steamed bun and then took a satisfying sip of the hot beef soup.
"A-Tu is really capable," he said with admiration.
Who would have imagined that this bald, burly man who looks like a thug could be so virtuous?
Since Atu came, Ning's mother was freed from the kitchen, because she was actually defeated in cooking by the very rough Atu.
She glanced at Ning's father, who had spoken the truth, snorted, but said nothing more. She simply smiled and served food to the honest and obedient A-Guang. The boy looked incredibly pure and innocent, exactly the type of child older people liked. She urged A-Guang to eat more, and seeing him nod and give her a genuine smile, even thanking her shyly in a soft voice, she smiled lovingly. She then looked at Shen Wangshu, who yawned and leaned against A-Xuan's shoulder, and silently turned her head away.
Their daughter is no longer under their control.
Sure enough, Ah Xuan had already picked up the beef soup in front of him and steadily placed it to Shen Wangshu's lips.
Shen Wangshu smiled, her eyes crinkling, and took a bite of a steamed bun while sipping some soup.
"Let's make more steamed buns for the road." She ate the buns, finding them delicious and sighing contentedly. She gently said to Nan Lan, "The world is so chaotic; nobody knows if we'll be on the run the next moment. Making more steamed buns means we can leave with food if anything unexpected happens." Seeing Nan Lan nod repeatedly, she smiled at A Tu and said, "A Tu will need to help with that." With such a talent for cooking, it was certainly worth making good use of it.
“No problem,” Atu said with a cheerful laugh.
"Can I have another sausage?" he asked tentatively after a pause.
The man's appetite was directly proportional to his culinary skills.
"Sure." Life really is all about eating, Shen Wangshu nodded and smiled.
The bald, burly man gave a satisfied smile and a thumbs-up to Shen Wangshu.
"Generous!" he praised, intending to offer more flattery, but seeing Ah Xuan glaring at him fiercely from across the table, he choked back a sob and silently carried the steamed buns and ham to the kitchen. He was beaming, clearly in a good mood, which Shen Wangshu found utterly amusing.
She found Nan Lan's friends, A Tu and A Guang, quite interesting. Although A Guang only cared about hanging around Nan Lan, he received a lot of crystal cores and still thanked Shen Wangshu gratefully. This upgrade was a very important matter, and Shen Wangshu and A Xuan closed the warehouse door together.
Atu protects Nanlan and Aguang as they level up and also safeguards Ning's unarmed parents. Axuan and Shen Wangshu are together and don't have to worry about being disturbed.
A high earthen wall was erected around the Shen family villa, enclosing the entire villa.
If any living person or zombie enters the villa, Atu will notice and wake up Nanlan and Aguang.
Shen Wangshu sat on the bed, holding a lot of crystal cores. In front of her was a zombie tilting its head and looking at her. She smiled, gave one of the two most crystal-clear ones to A Xuan, and picked up one for herself and placed it in her palm.
