She sensed immense energy within the tiny crystal core, as if it might explode at any moment. She calmed herself and began absorbing the power within the crystal core. She felt the immense energy seemingly challenging the bottleneck of her supernatural abilities, and she could clearly feel the energy sweeping through her body.
This strange feeling made her feel somewhat unfamiliar and at a loss.
She felt the superpowers in her body intensify, but after a moment of frenzy, they became subdued.
She felt herself being held in the arms of a stiff body, which was gently patting her.
The immense energy transformed into gentle, soothing water vapor, making her feel very comfortable.
She opened her eyes only after she had almost digested the enormous energy. She looked at the zombie who was hugging her and seemed a little lost, and saw Ah Xuan rubbing her face and hair, looking somewhat flustered. She couldn't help but smile faintly.
She reached out with difficulty and touched Ah Xuan's head. Seeing him rest his head comfortably in her hand, and then push many crystal cores towards her, she hesitated for a moment, but still absorbed two low-level crystal cores. Knowing that she couldn't absorb the rest in time, Shen Wangshu handed them to Ah Xuan.
He glanced at Shen Wangshu tentatively, and seeing that she wasn't eating, he grabbed handfuls and stuffed them into his mouth.
"Shu..." he mumbled, seemingly quite content as he nuzzled against Shen Wangshu.
"Delicious... isn't it..." Shen Wangshu looked at Ah Xuan, who was only eating a large piece of crystal core, with gentle eyes, knowing that he actually needed to eat these crystal cores. However, after smiling, he suddenly trembled and looked at the zombie in front of him in surprise.
After he made that sound, he continued eating the crystal cores, picking through them and discarding the less pure ones with disdain. But Shen Wangshu suddenly felt her eyes welling up with tears. She gripped Ah Xuan's arms tightly, cupped his face in her hands, and softly asked, "What did you just say?"
The zombie was enjoying its meal when it was disturbed, so it twisted its body, but when it realized that it was being stopped by Shen Wangshu, it rubbed against her.
"Shu..." he exclaimed cheerfully.
He looked at Shen Wangshu, pointed at her with a certain expression, and called out, "Shu!"
He seemed unable to say anything more, and his voice was terribly hoarse and unpleasant, yet Shen Wangshu involuntarily covered her mouth.
She glanced at his hand and noticed the crystalline core was gone; Ah Xuan must have eaten it. She looked up and scrutinized him closely. He was still dazed, his body still cold and stiff, but beyond that stiffness, Shen Wangshu keenly sensed something truly different about Ah Xuan. His hard face seemed to soften, his pupils were no longer as small as a wild beast's, and his gaze towards Shen Wangshu held a genuine familiarity.
His voice was hoarse and dry, but he still managed to call out her name.
What could be worse?
Shen Wangshu choked up, but an overwhelming joy welled up inside her.
Seeing Shen Wangshu shed tears, Ah Xuan stiffly reached out and wiped away the tear.
He looked down curiously at the teardrop on his finger, then tilted his head and licked the teardrop into his mouth, making a smacking sound.
He squinted.
"..." Even though she was moved by this being her true love, Shen Wangshu still felt a little unable to look directly at this gesture. Her lips trembled for a moment, unsure of what to say, and in the end, she could only let out a soft laugh. She rested her head on the bewildered Ah Xuan's shoulder, intertwined her fingers with his, and looked at his slightly bluish hands as she said helplessly, "Never mind, this is the kind of you I like."
She nestled in Ah Xuan's arms, but a different kind of hope welled up in her heart, making her unable to resist looking at the crystal cores.
Whether her ability to speak is due to Ah Xuan's own evolution or the help of the crystal core energy, she doesn't know yet.
The only thing she knew was that Ah Xuan could speak again.
Even though I can only utter one word, that is hope.
Moreover, the only thing Ah Xuan could call out was her name.

If you didn't look at him, he would clearly be a blissful man enjoying the company of a beautiful woman. His belly seemed like a bottomless pit, devouring all the crystal cores in front of Shen Wangshu without even feeling full. However, Ah Xuan wasn't a demanding zombie.
Without the crystal core, he licked his lips and looked outside the villa.
The sky outside was just beginning to lighten with the first rays of dawn. Shen Wangshu reached out and glanced at the electronic perpetual calendar beside her bed, realizing that in the blink of an eye, more than ten days had actually passed. She was shocked by the passage of time, but then, thinking of her advancement to become a higher-level ability user, she felt relieved. She sniffed the strange smell on herself and couldn't help but get up, open the steel door of the small storeroom, and step out.
Luckily, she was a water-based ability user with an inexhaustible water source; otherwise, in this apocalyptic world, without water, she wouldn't even be able to become clean.
Ah Xuan followed her closely.
"I'm going to take a shower." The zombies were following too closely, and Shen Wangshu said to him helplessly.
