When she woke up, she found herself in a dark cave. A large snake crawled towards her, and she fainted from fright. When she woke up again, she found a naked man lying next to her, covered in wounds. Ignoring her own leg injury, Ye Xiangwan cleaned the man's wounds and gave him water to drink.
Later, the man woke up and took her away.
When Ye Xiangwan returned to the Ye family home, more than two months had passed. Ye Zhi Qiu and Zeng Yi were holding their wedding, and upon seeing her, they looked at her as if they had seen a ghost. Ye Xiangwan questioned Ye Zhi Qiu, asking why she had pushed her and why she had tried to harm her. Ye Zhi Qiu looked completely innocent, saying she hadn't done anything like that. Zeng Yi shielded Ye Zhi Qiu behind him, saying that Ye Xiangwan had gone mad, actually slandering her own sister.
The Ye and Zeng families looked at Ye Xiangwan with pity. At the time, she didn't understand what was going on. It wasn't until her mother subtly suggested sending her to a mental hospital that Ye Xiangwan realized the Ye family had already judged her as insane and wouldn't believe anything she said.
Ye Xiangwan was locked in a room alone. No one listened to her, and no one dared to approach her. Everyone kept their distance, treating her like a virus. Only Ye Zhi Qiu came to see her often, and each time she left with a heartbroken expression, it only confirmed that Ye Xiangwan had gone mad and no longer recognized her own sister.
The night before she was to be sent to a mental hospital, Ye Xiangwan escaped and walked for a day and a night, finally arriving at the canyon in Daishan. She attempted suicide but was rescued by the man and stayed in the mountains.
The man regularly brought her wild fruits and sometimes game. Ye Xiangwan, who had always been a pampered young lady, gradually began to get used to life in the mountains.
Ye Zhi Qiu and Zeng Yi returned to the place a year later, ostensibly for a vacation, but actually to search for Ye Xiang Wan. When they saw Ye Xiang Wan living intimately with a man, they immediately called the police, claiming that the man was a human trafficker.
The police arrived and tried to take Ye Xiangwan away. She refused, and just then, the man came over to deliver wild fruit. Enraged, she revealed her true form and bit everyone to death. Ye Xiangwan was terrified and somewhat disoriented.
The next group to arrive were not police officers, but special police. They surrounded the man who was comforting Ye Xiangwan. The man revealed his true form, holding Xiangwan in his arms while enduring machine gun fire from the special police. Even though he was riddled with bullets, he did not let a single bullet harm Ye Xiangwan.
Once Ye Xiangwan regained consciousness, she understood everything. She had saved the snake, and that's why the snake protected her after transforming into human form. Even animals know to repay kindness, yet her so-called younger sister had pushed her into the abyss.
Ye Xiangwan, having lost all will to live, plucked the snake's scales and plunged them into her throat. She died clutching the snake. Her dying wish was to take revenge on Ye Zhi Qiu and Zeng Yi; if given another chance, she would ensure the snake lived a good life.
After receiving the plot details, Xiang Wan suddenly felt a tightness in her chest. She hadn't done anything yet, and the snake seemed to be dead. How was she supposed to complete the mission?
Xiang Wan sighed, opened her eyes, and a bright red tongue swept past the tip of her nose, startling her so much that she reflexively slapped it.
With a "snap," the snake's tongue flicked to the side, remaining motionless in mid-air. A huge snake head slowly, very slowly, moved closer to Wan, until Wan could smell the snake's breath.
Xiang Wan shuddered, her head slowly tilting back, her mind filled with regret: Damn it, my hand was too fast! I couldn't control myself! Of all things to photograph, I had to hit the snake's forked tongue, and I even used my internal energy! That's its vital organ! Damn it, I just realized I needed to protect this snake, and now I've offended it! Is it going to swallow me whole?
Xiang Wan chuckled sheepishly and quickly apologized, "I didn't mean to, really, I swear!"
This apology is more real than gold. Snake, you absolutely must be sincere and not start talking all the time, her little heart can't take it.
Through the storyline, Xiang Wan learns that this snake can understand human speech, and she prefers to use her mouth to solve problems rather than resorting to physical force.
System: What a shameless person! He talks as if he could actually beat someone!
The snake stared at Xiang Wan for several seconds, then suddenly turned around and plunged into the water, splashing water all over Xiang Wan.
Xiang Wan patted her chest, relieved that she hadn't angered it.
Just as he was feeling relieved, he saw the lizard in the water slowly moving towards the shore. Xiang Wan looked closer and, lo and behold, the snake had dragged the lizard from the water to the shore and was swimming towards him again.
Xiang Wan stood up, already clutching a pebble in her hand in case the snake suddenly attacked.
The snake stopped about two zhang in front of Xiang Wan, nodded to her, glanced at the lizard, and then stared at her without moving.
What does that mean? Does he want her to eat the lizard? Xiang Wan quickly shook her head. Damn it, if she's being punished with a lizard just for slapping it, she simply can't bring herself to eat it. It's too ferocious, isn't it? Anyone who could eat it wouldn't be human!
The snake repeated its actions, and Xiang Wan quickly waved her hand, saying, "I'm not hungry, I'm really not hungry."
The vertical pupils shifted slightly, and no matter how Xiang Wan looked at it, it seemed to be laughing. Laughing? What was so funny? She wasn't even hungry.
The snake shook its head and repeated the action it had just performed. Finally, it opened its mouth wide and made a swallowing motion.
This time, Xiang Wan understood; she was told to chop the lizard up and feed it to the creature.
Xiang Wan glanced at the lizard's unsightly lumps all over its body, then at the snake's appearance, which looked like it had just gone through a lot of hardship. She gave it a thumbs up, nodded, and gave it a look of admiration.
Everyone says snakes swallow things whole with their mouths open, but this snake actually knew to let her cut it open. Hmm, it seems that animals that have become sentient are indeed quite intelligent.
Xiang Wan searched around the rocks and found a relatively sharp piece of stone. She wrapped one side with a strip of cloth and stabbed it into the back of the lizard's leg.
Even using her internal energy, it took dozens of thrusts to cut a small opening. The lizard's skin was incredibly thick; bullets couldn't penetrate it. Her ability to cut it was entirely due to her internal energy.
After much effort, she finally cut off a leg, called the snake over to eat it, and then lay down on the bank to rest for a while.
To her surprise, just as she lay down, a dark shadow crashed down on her. Luckily, she dodged quickly, or she would have been a corpse.
Upon closer inspection, it was the lizard's leg, which the snake had been carrying and tossing in front of her.
"I already told you, I'm not hungry, you eat it yourself."
Xiang Wan replied irritably, "Anyone who was almost crushed to death just now wouldn't be in a good mood."
The snake stretched out its head and pushed the lizard's leg towards her. Xiang Wan took a step back, and the snake pushed it towards her again.
"What exactly do you want?"
Seeing that the snake wouldn't give up until it achieved its goal, Xiang Wan had no choice but to compromise once again.
Damn it, the size difference is too great. Even if she has a temper, one look at the snake's vertical eye and she can't get hard anymore.
The snake lowered its head, gently sucked on the tender flesh from the cut on its thigh, and then looked up at Xiang Wan.
"Want to eat some of this?"
The snake nodded.
Xiang Wan raised her hand to look at the stone slab in her palm. It had all become round stones. How was she supposed to cut it?
If you want her to work, you have to provide the tools. Xiang Wan looked around and suddenly focused her eyes on the largest scale on the snake's body.
