Chapter 488 Taboo (Part 10)

After all that fuss, Xiang Wan was both hungry and exhausted. She was just about to order takeout when there was another knock at the door. Cui Shiwan's voice came through the crack in the door, making Xiang Wan's temples throb.

My gut feeling is that nothing good is coming.

Sure enough, when Xiang Wan came out dressed and wearing a mask, Cui Shiwan raised her phone and said to her with a smile, "A friend of mine is at a bar and asked me to come over to talk about something. Will you come with me?"

"Wait a minute."

Xiang Wan turned around, took some things from her suitcase, stuffed them into her pocket, then closed the door and walked towards the elevator with Cui Shiwan.

Behind him, Lou Junxuan quietly opened the door a crack and peeked out a few times. Only after Xiang Wan and the others disappeared into the elevator did he open the door, take the phone, and go downstairs.

The underground bar isn't far from the Morning Light Hotel, but the route is a bit winding, and it's not easy to find for those unfamiliar with the area. It's located beneath a small shop and can't be found on a map. The people who frequent this place are either from all walks of life or have unusual tastes; in short, it's not a pleasant place.

Before she even entered, the burly bartender covered in tattoos blocked her way. Only after Cui Shiwan called out her friend and explained the situation did they allow her to go in.

However, the reason Cui Shiwan brought her here so early must be because she couldn't hold back and was frightened by her address as "Miss Cui Shiwan," and decided to take action ahead of time.

Cui Shiwan's friend looks very polite, but who would know that he is actually a transnational human trafficker and the world's most wanted criminal.

If Xiang Wan hadn't had the system, even the original owner wouldn't have known this person's true identity.

The fact that the Cui family's daughter was involved with human traffickers is enough to raise suspicions about her family background, especially since she was the original owner's number one enemy.

“Irving, this is my friend Kevin.”

Cui Shiwan gave a brief introduction, and Owen extended his hand to shake hands with Xiang Wan. His kind face could not hide the sharp eyes hidden behind his gold-rimmed glasses.

Xiang Wan smiled and returned the handshake, saying, "I've long admired your name!"

Cui Shiwan thought it was just Xiang Wan exchanging pleasantries with a stranger, but little did she know that it was a mark that the original owner had always kept in her heart.
